If Natalie had her choice, she wouldn't have been at the arena today.
It's not that the fighting made her squeamish, there was plenty of blood in her past. But it always felt binary to her. There was always new talent coming and going, but the outcome was never enough to interest her. Either a fighter won, or they lost. There were stories to find here, but not ones that interested her.
However, her own investigations she'd been working on had been stalled, and her bosses at the Print were getting impatient. Nat needed to do some work in the meantime, and at the moment the only thing they had available for her was an interview they had arranged with the arenas newest fighter for the sports column. Simple work.
She arrived at the arena earlier than arranged, working her way through the crowds and finding herself a seat. Her interviewee, one Ivanka Stepanov, was scheduled for a match in a few minutes. While she wasn't a big fan of the fights, Nat figured that you could learn a lot about someone based on how they fought. Once the fight was over, she would head down to the locker rooms to talk to her. Until then, she settled in to watch and see what kind of person she was speaking with today.
