The Manta Carlos Sanguine Society is holding its first ever fundraising ball. There will be food and drink for vampires and non-blood drinking guests alike. All attendees to the ball will be provided with a gift bag that contains goods from various small businesses on Manta Carlos such as handmade scented candles from Wicked Wicks, a sample box of flavored vodkas from the House of Volkov, and gourmet macaroons by Jii.

There will also be a raffle for two prizes at the end of the night:

- A private fashion and beauty consultation at Theia where you will be fitted for a custom made 10 piece wardrobe that suits you and your needs.

- An all-expenses-paid week stay for four beyond the Veil at an exclusive Manta Carlos friendly location provided by Woodland Imports.

All guests are asked to arrive after the sun goes down and in ballroom appropriate attire.

The fundraiser is set on the Eve of Walpurgis for those interested.

The grounds of the desecrated church where the MCSS resided had been transformed into a magical ballroom using some very elaborate magic and illusionary spellwork. Everything the guests saw, heard or touched tonight would be real up until the early hours of the morning the next day.

Natasha Lockwood, the main founder of the MCSS, had commissioned a grand ballroom setting similar to the ones she had experienced as a courtier during the 17th century. And as she inspected everything, in a dark blood red velvet corseted ballgown true to the time period, was beyond pleased at the results. Everything looked, sounded and even smelled somewhat similar to what she remembered - from the beeswax candles in the chandeliers overhead burning brightly, giving off that very distinct waxy honey smell, to the orchestra in the corner softly playing a minuet.

As the first guests started to slowly arrive, Natasha gave orders to the waiters to start mingling, providing each of the arrivals with a glass of champagne, sparkling water, fresh juice, or flutes of AB negative blood.

(A big welcome to all! This thread is open to everyone who wants to join - you don't need to be a vampire to attend, I promise!

Regarding posting - there is no set posting order so please feel free to jump in whenever you want. If you choose to do a side thread related to the ball, we suggest you put a (MCSS) in the title.)

Konpeitō entered the ballroom with a cheerful gait and a confident expression. This was an event to socialize, have fun, and help out the community. Oh, and to win some wonderful prizes at the end if you were lucky. As for Kon specifically, there was a special little treat for him in this event, now aware of the true capabilities of his powers: it would be good for him to get on well with the vampiric community and learn about them first-hand before trying to become one of them.

So he mingled like he always did, chatting with a waiter who gave him a glass of champagne, then becoming drawn to the food table. There seemed the easiest place to meet new people and talk without disturbing anyone busy.

This was the life Kon was meant to live. Not one as a working, tired student and usher, but one of money and freedom. That was the experience he knew the ball would grant him for a short time, and he reveled in it.

Natalie entered with a casual saunter through the church doors, dressed in an elegant silk gown that seemed shimmer and shift between a dark black and red colour with every step thanks to her illusory powers.

If she was going to attend such a classy affair, she might as well dress to impress.

Officially, the journalist was attending to take note of the night’s proceedings for an article in the Print tomorrow. However, The Sanguine Society was clearly aiming to become an important voice within the MC community, throwing an event like this made that obvious. There were bound to be many important guests invited who were going to attend throughout the night, and Nat planned to rub shoulders with them. It always paid for a journalist to have contacts, after all.

But, of course, all work and no play would make for a dull evening. Nat always enjoyed a nice formal ball like this, and she fully intended to enjoy the atmosphere while she could. She took a glass of champagne from a passing waiter, a smile and nod in thanks, and let her eyes roam across the crowd.

When she had learned of a grand gala being hosted for the people of the night, Aedes knew that she had to go. Though she wished she could arrive in the most elegant garments of precious weave, she though better suited her, she neither had the financial means to do so nor was her adoptive father willing to fork over the thousands of dollars by the dress she wanted. So she was forced forced to settle with a cheap imitation of ball room dress, which appears to be cosplay outfit for some popular character in anime. Though not ideal, they could at least afford it.

Though it was made of cheap polyester and nylon, the clothes at least look the part of a baroque dress. With the color of purplish twilight adored with bright red ribbons that shimmer like silk. Each of her nails were painted crimson read and she had just that bit of blush to give her a her pastry white skin some semblance of life. To bring out her eyes she ears deep red eyeliner that better compliments her naturally red lashes. For such an event she even had stylish fix up her her in pleasant bob with a large black and red bow tied to the back of her head. Hidden her her gown where black heels she already had from previous shopping that made a satisfying clack on the tiled floor with each step.

Upon entering she enters acting with importantance and false sense of regalness. But as she steeped in she noticed the garish Konpeito with their rainbow of hair sticking out like sore thumb. Though she knew that anyone was allowed to this ball, it was still a shock to her that they of all people where here.

"Uhhh... excuse me? Why are you here?" spoke up Aedes in an almost demanding tone, tip-toeing her way over to Kon and she lifts up part of her dress so that her feet don't get caught on the fabric.

There were certain affairs that were meant for the attendance of a princess. And though her kingdom was one of violence and savagery, Aisha was by all means a princess. With a beautiful gown she had purchased long ago when she had money, fine heels, and a shiny silver tiara, the mermaid graced the ball with her presence. Her dress was a light aqua and very visibly ocean-inspired with wavy frills and smooth fish scales (or fabric simulating such, was not clear) covering the torso; it had a plunging neckline and lacked sleeves. The hemline went down to just above her ankles. A mask made of the finest ivory seashells hid her face. Her glassy aqua heels and pearl jewelry completed the look.

She highly doubted this would be Sazz's thing, so she fully expected to come alone. Her long red hair was pinned up in a doughnut bun complete with a pearl scrunchie. Despite part of the allure being not knowing who anyone was, it was dead obvious who this pink-skinned female was. The brightest of smiles crossed her face as she noted to very familiar individuals.

"Oh, what a suurpriiise!"

Aisha wasn't stupid. She could feel the tension bubbling as Aedes was mid-approach towards Konpeito. Still she grinned with those pearly whites as she scurried over. "I hope all is well!" There was nothing really threatening about what she said, but she extruded an strong aura. As if everyone had wandered into her territory. Quite the change from her previously depressive state. Now she looked closer to a queen.

Kon, with a friendly smile, looked down at the little vampire girl. "Aedes! I'm not surprised you're here, with this being an event for vampires and all that. I'm part of the Bleedr community and I enjoy getting to know people. Why wouldn't I be here." Better to treat her in a friendly manner and remind her of where they were than to be sucked into whatever drama she wanted to start today.

Even better, Aisha was here! Of course she was. This was a ball, she was a princess, and she also fed on humans. "All is well," he said as he gave her a light hug. "I wonder what other familiar faces I'll see!"

Greeting first-time guests as they arrived, Natasha chatted with each of them amiably for a few minutes, making sure they were looked after with a drink and that any coats or jackets were taken to the makeshift, and very secure, coat check that had been added to the event last minute.

And as Natasha moved through the growing throng of people, greeting familiar faces often with a warm hug or peck on the cheek, the vampiress finally came to a somewhat unfamiliar face, though the woman looked oddly familiar for some reason.

"Welcome to tonight's fundraiser, I see you have been looked after already?" Natasha enquired warmly as she greeted the young woman in a very lovely and eye-catching dress.

Leandro would step into the ball, dressed in his finely made tux, looking sharp as ever. The Erebus family was one of the most wealthy and powerful vampire groups around, so of course they'd quickly joined. The rest of his family were already there going about their things so he planned in having a bit of fun.

The vampire would move towards the other guests, nodding and smiling though his blind eyes made no reaction to the greetings.

Tadashi wasn't really used to these kinds of parties. Or really parties in general for that matter. But he was specifically invited by Rafael Del Bosque, and the man had ensured the bakeneko was provided the proper access to clothes. Tadashi had been told wearing a white suit was inappropriate for the indoor, non-summer, event so he had chosen an elegant but traditional black tuxedo. Fitted well for his figure and paired with a white shirt and black bowtie. Completed with a set of fine black formal gloves. Not a common option, but the boy had insisted he must have gloves to wear or he'd try to bring his own well worn and charcoal stained grey ones. Which of course would not have been allowed.

He had though stashed a small pouch of charcoals and pencils within his jacket pocket. In case he got bored and needed to slip away to draw some. His lapel was adorned by a small flower, though he forgot what color it was supposed to be. He wasn't a big fan of wasting the poor flower, but he was determined to make a good impression tonight.

All in all he still stood out a fair bit. His white hair smoothed down and combed over properly and his amber eyes gazing around at all the people. Seeing Aedes, he turned to step back in another direction. Any other direction. She was trouble- and that was the last thing he needed. Instead he found himself closing his eyes for a second and feeling the myriad of living potted plants brought in for the event. They seemed well cared for and their contentment helped calm him.

"Oh?! So your just here as part of the the refreshments? I'll keep that in mind. Blood is best when its warm... and sweet~" teased Aedes, licking her lips with the knife-like tip of her proboscis before she resumes a friendly smile to Kon. "In that case its good seeing you here. Always nice seeing one a member of the cheer team outside of practice."

While on the subject of cheer team, Aisha showed up right on que. Though she hidden behind a seashell mask, Aisha natural pinkness made it easy for anyone whom has heard of her to figure her out. Why she even bothered with a mask is wonder but considering how the last big party turned out for her, maybe she was just concerned about her image. Though Aisha was not vampire, she was princess and so it wasn't as much of surprise to see her as it where to see Kon here.

"Oh? Our cheer captain arrives. At this rate it would seem the entire cheer squad will be here." mused Aedes as she acknowledges Aisha's arrival.
