  • A student's level of academic achievement is determined when they first arrive at Starlight Academy using a series of tests, from which it is determined how their education should proceed. If they are significantly behind their peers, they will be turned towards the Remedial class system.

Remedial is a catch-all term for a specialized education program that Starlight Academy offers. Due to the highly varied nature of cultures and backgrounds, it would be unreasonable for the Academy to assume everyone has the same baseline of knowledge to be put in the general student population to learn.

Remedial exists to remedy this, being a highly individualized lesson plan tailored to help a student catch up to their peers. Remedial classes are only offered up through Grade 12 of primary education. The student-to-teacher ratio is much smaller in the remedial program than elsewhere, as to give each student the highest level of personal instruction and aid as possible.

Graduation from the Remedial program moves the student into the educational level that they were striving towards, and they continue their education from there with the broader student body.
