Newly formed from the administrative, investigative, and research divisions of the now officially dissolved Veil Agency and merged with the appropriate channels in the
Starlight Academy Scouts, the Department of Disbelief Research is a new branch of academic study offered and spearheaded by Starlight Academy itself.
The main goal of the DDR is to research the effects of the Disbelief in the Narrow Reality and find ways to categorize, minimize damage, and hopefully reverse the effects of Disbelief so that Manta Carlos may one day return to its home dimension proper.
Most of the work that the DDR does is theoretical, but occasionally to test certain hypotheses they must form a field research team. These teams go into the Narrow Reality for limited amounts of time to try and gather data firsthand as well as performing experiments to see if the effects of the Disbelief are replicable and predictable.
