He was so kind. Maylynn was a bit calmer when the man leaned over the side of the bed to make sure he was okay. "I-I think I'm alright." Yes, the fall had hurt his head a bit. "I think I hit my head though." He rubbed it clockwise with his left hand before he stared up at Yesterday. The lights that came out of his eyes were... Not normal. They had a calmly color to them; something that Maylynn liked to look at.

"I-I should be saying sorry. I feel asleep on you." He hated to be a burden on other's, and falling asleep wasn't exactly normal, was it? "I-I mean it's not like we are dating or anything, so I'm sorry if that weirded you out." He looked away from the light to rest his eyes. Yestereday had been comforting, to be that close to someone and not have to worry about if they would hate it or not.

Yesterday hadn't meant to scare him, and he took the fact that he did as a sign of his leave. He got up, his movements a little too smooth, like a well tuned machine meant to pick out tiny details. It almost made him look uncanny valley, but then again, everything about his appearance was.

He didn't think he'd go wandering tonight, though he sort of thought he should. It was an algorithm programmed into him now, a set pattern he could take. He figured just the next room was fine, and he could watch the street from his window if Maylynn didn't want him to leave.

"Don't worry. I'm fine." The same monotone, slow and steady drawl that he usually had. "I should go to my room, though. You should sleep."

No, he didn't want him to go. Yes, the glowy eyed man had scared him a lot-as that wasn't really normal- but that didn't mean that he wanted Yesterday to leave. He enjoyed having someone to listen to him talk, or to even be close to him when he felt all alone. It was a special feeling and it was one that he wanted to feel again. It took him a few seconds to fully stand, but when he did, he had a goal to accomplish.

Even though it felt as if his heart was going to leap out of his chest, he run to Yesterday, and hugged the man as tightly as he could. "Please stay and keep me company. I feel asleep so easily on you so, please c-cu" The word didn't want to come out. "H-Hold me, until I am asleep."

In reality, a person might've called Maylynn rather needy. Yesterday had the word in his vocabulary, but he had no context to place it under. Maylynn had said he was lonely, so perhaps that would be his purpose. Easing loneliness was a noble thing, according to the texts he read.

He nodded, his glowing eyes bobbing in the dim light. "Okay. I will." If it were any reassurance to the boy that seemed obviously a little distraught over the idea of staying alone. Perhaps he couldn't sleep well and the night noises made him uncomfortable. His readings said that humans like that weren't built to last, but in today's modern systems they could. He still had to look deeper into it.

Yesterday sat back down on the bed easily, in the same too-fluid motion he used earlier, and waited for Maylynn to join him.

Oh boy did he sigh in relief. He wouldn't have to struggle any longer to have Yesterday stay with him. It had been almost too much effort to continuously ask him to stay, as Maylynn had never been so vocal about what he wanted. He gulped his spit down as he let go and moved slightly away; he didn't want to make him uncomfortable. All this time it seemed as if it was minimal to Yesterday, like it all was just a big 'meh'.

He sat beside the boy, looking at his feet as they tapped together. They touched shoulders before Maylynn swerved into the bed and got under the covers. He opened up the covers for the man he wanted to share it with, make him feel welcome.

Yesterday lay down underneath the covers when he was invited... though he was a bit odd about it. He lay face down in the pillow, arms at his sides, stock still. Yeah, he wasn't good at this, either. In fact, in the time he'd been on the islands, he'd only fully laid down maybe five times. There was never really a need to; he was either sitting or standing. Not like he grew tired from it, after all.

He wouldn't power down, though. He might go into sleep mode, but that didn't mean he wasn't aware. He just diverted his power towards other tasks, like sorting information.

When the man laid down, Maylynn just stared at him. What they how everyone else slept? Was there science behind it that made it a good sleeping position? Maylynn really wanted to question him, but he was unsure if he was going to get the answer that he wanted from the flowy eyed man. With s lot of courage, he repeated his line that made his stomach hurt. "C-Could you hold me maybe?" He bit his lip in the darkness, expecting to be turned down by the man immediately.

"Y-You know, so I can fall asleep?" He wasn't really sure why he was trying to justify his reasons for wanting to get cuddled up to, but he tried his best. "L-Like uh, I could go into your arms, o-or you could warm them around me as I lay facing the wall..." Maylynn just hoped that helped a bit more. If not, he would just cuddle the wall.

If there was one thing Yesterday could do excellently, he could memorize things and follow instructions. That was literally what he was made for. If Maylynn just gave him step by step instructions instead of having him figure out the ins and outs of human interaction, he would've fared a lot better. He was an AI meant to figure things out, but his main jobs back on the ship had, after all, been storage.

The concept of cuddling wasn't difficult for him to grasp, either. Humans were simple creatures, despite wanting to think they were complex. They liked being hugged. They liked being warm, and being held and being told they were special. They sought out things that made them feel good. Oftentimes, humans were affectionate like Maylynn was.

So he rolled over and draped an arm over him. His own skin felt slippery and cool, almost like a dolphin's or a doll's. It was resilient, but couldn't mend itself. He didn't feel warm. But he could hold him, and hold him he did.

God, if Maylynn wasn't a big sap beforehand, he was now. As he felt the man wrap his arms around him, he wanted to melt into him and squeal at the top of his lungs. This was the most happiness he had ever had. Though, the skin on the man was apparently the same as his hands had been, very ultra soft and slippery. Maylynn didn't even mind it that his skin seemed awfully cold considering how close they were.

His face was on fire as he nuzzles closer to him. He felt safe and loved as he laid there in his arms. Is this what liking someone a lot felt like? Is this the feeling that people got when they wanted someone? Maylynn definitely wanted Yesterday, maybe even as his boyfriend, but he wouldn't say that to him. "Thank you." He whispered out and held him closer, their bodies touching in more than one place. "Goodnight." The happy boy said almost silently before falling asleep in his arms.
