It was innocent right? Maylynn as almost happy when he reached for the band-aids. Finally their closeness would be a little less awkward. He had assumed wrong. Maylynn almost screamed when he felt a hand grab something that was not on his lap. Almost instantly, his face lit up like a flame. How was he going to reach to this? Is this what Yesterday wanted all along?

"I-I-" His words were lost to him as he backed up to the wall, covering that part of him with both hands. No, didn't they need to hold hands and kiss more before that? Wasn't that how it went in the movies? He felt light-headed, dizzy, he wanted to go unconscious and just forget this all.

Rather abruptly, Maylynn's expression changed again. Human expressions changed so frequently that it was difficult to keep up with them all. This one was somewhat familiar; his face went red and his eyes were wide, as if he were frightened by something. Embarrassment. Yes, that was the emotion. Was he embarrassed of something. What was he getting so flush over?

Yesterday's expression remained as neutral as ever, with a fistful of band-aids and little else but questions.

"What's wrong?" Was he not supposed to touch him? But he was dabbing his face earlier. Was he okay? Realistically, Yesterday so far had very little concept of certain parts of the body being taboo. He hadn't read too many story books, only texts so far and most of them related to the sciences.

Yeah, he needed to get on that.

"Y-You touched me, that's what's wrong!" He shook his head and slapped his cheeks to try to make them less red, which was a bad idea; it only made them redder. Why wasn't he embarrassed to? Why were there no redness in his face? Was he really that dense? It kind of made Maylynn sad, considering that it meant so much to him. That was the first time anyone has laid a hand on him.

"Y-You aren't supposed to touch there unless y-you l-l-love me." He closed his eyes as he knew that the answer was no. "I-It's a special part, l-like here." He opened his eyes and pocked at his lips, tapping them playfully. Was he going to touch there next? How much more was enough for them?

He touched him, and that was wrong? But he'd been touching him this whole time. He'd touched his face with the cotton and he'd been holding his hand the last time. How did that mean this was wrong? Maylynn really had to be more specific, because Yesterday's mind was instantly whirring with technicalities and possibilities. In what scenario was touching wrong, in this case? What had made one minute different than the other?

Okay, okay, so certain parts of humans were different than others and weren't allowed to be touched. That made a little more sense, and he figured it was the same as, say, his main memory drive and the backup. Nobody but authorized users were allowed to access it. Gotcha.

"Oh, I see." He'd read about love. He knew it was a strong driving emotion that made humans stupid and go against their better survival. He knew a lot of literature had been written on it. He knew a lot about love... He just didn't know how to love. He supposed he could mimic it if he had to.

"I'm sorry. I should not have touched you, then."

It's not like Maylynn didn't want him to touch him anymore; it was ony certain areas. Yes, he liked this guy more than he had anyone else, but he was still nervous and cautious of his soon to be love for the boy. Maylynn chewed at his lip, uncertain of what the future would hold. He wanted Yesterday with him, by his side to protect him and allow for themselves to grow together. How did Yesterday not understand that? It wasn't hard to understand such a thing; that Maylynn obivously had a crush on him.

"It's okay, it just felt weird." He inched back towards the boy, unsure of what they were to each other. He wanted to express his emotions, his deep feelings for his man... But how? He was awkward and clumsy and social awkward. Even talking to this pretty boy made him light headed. "I-I can do the rest though, if you want to go home to your friends or roommates or lovers." He frowned as he fumbled his hands together as he sat with his ankles tied together.

Yesterday was, to say the least, utterly oblivious. He didn't understand human ques the same way as most people interpreted them; he took everything quite literally and there were no taboos. He hadn't learned them yet, and he hadn't captured enough knowledge to understand social norms, let alone social norms of a multitude of different cultures that gathered on the islands.

However, Yesterday knew information and statistics and could memorize everything he read word for word. He shook his head. "I don't live anywhere." Which immediately implied that he didn't have any roommates and the like.

Technically speaking, Yesterday didn't need to live anywhere. He didn't need to eat or drink, he didn't sweat so he didn't need to bathe, he didn't need to recharge... He could go on for as long as he wanted.

He didn't live anywhere? The thought kind of hit Maylynn, lie some bullet that had punctured his heart. The poor man didn't have a home. Wasn't that the reason why so many people came here; to start over with a new life? The thought only filled him with sadness. "You have nowhere to stay? No one to call your roommate?" The juggled the statement in his mind for a few seconds. Was that normal? Was it weird that Maylynn had always wanted a roommate?

"I-I mean y-you could." Of course, his words got caught up in his throat. "B-Be m-" He hated this nervousness that he was experiencing, this thing that was holding him back from everything that stood before him. Maylynn wanted to say so much to Yesterday, but little to nothing came out. "My roommate?" After a few tries, his voice seemed to work well enough to utter out those words.

Yesterday shook his head, but he didn't look particularly bothered by the fact that he didn't have a home. Why would he be? He had no need for a roof over his head or anything. He didn't need any of the standard things humans got from living in a stationary place; if he needed shelter, he had his umbrella to cover him.

There was just no use for it. He didn't see himself at a disadvantage at all, but apparently Maylynn did. The expression on his face shifted again into something akin to worry and concern.

Concerned enough that he was offering him a place to stay.

He pulled his face into another plastic, stiff smile. A small grin would've been more accurate.

"There's no need. I'm okay being outside all the time." He didn't want to inconvenience him, especially if it meant moving into his space.

He didn't want to be his roommate? Did Maylynn have to beg in his knees for Yesterday to realize that he was terribly alone? It had been so long since anyone had even taking a liking to him. He felt special; all because of Yesterday. "N-No, that's not right." He shook his head as he stared up at Yesterday. "I mean it's your choice but." He whispered the next part. "It is pretty lonely here." His gaze strayed to the left as he pondered the thought of just disappearing. "I mean maybe sometimes you just want to, talk to someone?" Maylynn was struggling with any reason as to why Yesterday would stay with him.

Lonely? Ah, yes, humans were social creatures. They often felt lonely when isolated, and he figured since Maylynn lived alone then it was only natural for him to feel that way. But Yesterday had felt it before, even if nobody told him what it was and he didn't know it was 'lonely'. He felt lonely when he was stuck in the escape pod for three earth years while his brothers and sisters slept around him. There was just so much filing he could do before it ran out and he was... alone.

"Well, if you want me to, I can visit a lot. It wouldn't be right to inconvenience you all the time." But he could drop by frequently, at likely inopportune moments when he knew Maylynn wouldn't be busy... Like when he was sleeping or something.

He reached over, gently patting Maylynn's hand in reassurance. "But I don't need regular things like food and water. I'm okay."
