The first thing he did was sigh, and he sighed heavily. His whole body seemed to come out as he did it, sending a big release out through him. He had just finished a big, difficult unit test; one that had him preparing for weeks. Now that it was over, he would have to focus and study on the next one, but he had a bit of a break between that time.

Maylynn carried his three textbooks in his hands as he walked through the slowly emptying halls of his school. A few people pushed him, but he paid no mind, he was stronger than them on the inside. As he got out of the hallways of his classes, his hands tightened around his books.

He looked at someone that... Reminded him of Yesterday. Instantly, a blush had crossed his cheeks. Had their time apart made the fondness for the man stronger? His face was a dead give away for that. Though when the person turned towards him... It was a girl. His heart sank as he walked past. He shouldn't get his hopes up.

Yesterday often didn't wander onto the campus proper. He had to cross it to get to the library, and he did go there on a fairly regular basis. But the campus itself didn't hold much for him; the people all but looked right over him and he didn't mind that.

Yet he remembered everyone who passed him. Their faces and whatever snippets of information he could gather from a brief two or three seconds in their sight was stored away. He didn't do it for any specific purpose; it was just how his memory worked. Everything was kept and put away in a data bank of sorts, and most of the time it would never be used again.

But he did come across a familiar face, one he'd seen a lot of last week. He quickly pulled up his file, stopping where he was to do so and keep the face in sight. Maylynn. Lilac Festival. Right, right...

There was a pause, then his path deviated as he went up to him from across the courtyard.

A few people stared at him, laughed and whispered to themselves when he tripped on his shoe lace and feel over face first. Ow. There was a sharp pain in his face as he stared at the ground. His books were around him, scattered and open. Maylynn looked around him, before he sat on the ground, rubbing his cheeks so that he knew he was still alive.

It didn't seem like anyone wanted to help him, as he glanced down at the ground. He was clumsy and useless, who would want to help someone like that? Maylynn sniffed half heartedly as he grabbed one of his books and slid it over to his side. He needed to get up, to not allow these students around him to think he was weak. He tried to stand but his knees hurt too much. His pants were cut on the knees, having a light gray ting to them. His hands had a few scratches on them; but his face was another question. His nose was red all over, as well as his forehead having a gash on it.

He'd honed in on the head of pale hair, knowing the face and beelining directly towards him. He just wanted to say hi at least; it seemed like the polite thing to do, and he was about to when the head suddenly disappeared out of the crowd. It wasn't exactly stifling out in the courtyard, but it did cause a moment of confusion when Maylynn dipped off his radar.

Yesterday scanned the area again, only to find him on the ground. Oh, he must've just fallen, how silly of him to think he'd disappeared. He quickly regained his bearings and wandered right up to where Maylynn was on the ground. He looked a little roughed up, but otherwise fine.

"Hello Maylynn." His voice, as usual, was monotone and without any real emotion. He held out his hand for him to take. "Let me help you up."

Maylynn wanted to cry when he looked up to see Yesterday standing before him, his hand extended. It was like his night in shining armor had come to protect and save him. This was something that he had dreamed about since he was a little boy, someone to keep him safe and love him. He only sniffled though, not wanting to show his tears to everyone else. Maylynn grabbed his hand firmly and pulled himself up off of the ground, even though his books were still scattered.

His legs were weak from the fall still, so as he stood, he had to put his other arm on Yesterday's shoulder for balance. He wasn't used to getting hurt, not like this at least. "Ow." He winced softly as he kept a hold of Yesterday's other hand, as if he would leave if he didn't have a tight grip on it. "Thank you for coming." He uttered out before rubbing his wet eyes and nose on Yesterday's chest. Even though he was acting just like a baby, he didn't care.

On second thought, Maylynn didn't look so good. In fact, he looked downright distraught by his fall or something else. Physically he wasn't that injured; a few scrapes, a cut here and there but otherwise fine. It must've been quite a tumble for him to be so upset and Yesterday quickly helped him up.

He didn't mind of Maylynn leaned on him and he was steady when he did so, easily taking on what little weight he put down. He didn't even mind when he wiped his face on his shirt, unsure whether or not that was a regular human custom. Yesterday reached around, gently patting his back like he'd seen others do.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

The patting on his back was soothing, it let him relax ever so slightly. "I-I'm alright." He lied, hoping and begging and wanting in his head for Yesterday to pesture him. Maylynn wanted him to comfort him until he had let out all of his tears, until he fell asleep in his arms. But no, he knew that he could'n't let himself so easily fall in love; but it was too late for him. He was already stuck on Yesterday.

After a few seconds, he shifted back a few steps and looked at the books that were scattered around, then the people. It seemed that a few had stopped and stared at them, as if such a public display of affection was weird. He knew that it wasn't as he saw people do it all the time. Maybe it was because everyone knew that he was a stuck up brat that only cared about his studies... And now he boy he was holding onto.

"I-I was just heading back to my dorm room when I fell." He stated to his romantic interest. "But my knees feel weird." They were weak, they had always been weak. He was a weakling and he always would be. "I don't know if I will make it back to my room quickly." A shy chuckle came out as he looked into Yesterday's eyes.

After a second or two, Maylynn backed off. He didn't exactly look any calmer, looking around himself in a daze, but at least he was sort of standing on his own two feet. That was important, right? Yesterday reaffirmed that he was right, taking note of the reactions around them. Humans didn't like touching in public, didn't they?

"Oh. I see." He seemed to have scraped his knees, or at least fallen pretty hard on them. Could Maylynn possibly have a first aid kit or something back at his dorm? It seemed feasible, and his injuries didn't look bad enough to require medical intervention, lucky for him.

"Would you like me to help? You can lean on me. I know the way back." He'd already mapped it out to a T when he first went to visit. He knew exactly how many steps were required to get there, even.

He could lean on him? Was Yesterday trying to make him faint with such words? It was like a dream come true, even to be close to him. He nodded as he turned away from Yesterday and picked up his books, one by one. Maylynn grunted as he stood, as his lower half ached with all his hurt areas. "Yeah, my dorm isn't far away. maybe a few minutes at the most." He turned again with his many books, perplexed as to how he was supposed to lean on him if his hands were full.

"Could you hold these?" He asked politely as he passed Yesterday the textbooks. Afterwards, he would wrap one arm around his shoulder, steadying himself in the hopes that he didn't fall over or grunt too much on their journey.

Hold those? They were only three books, so Yesterday nodded and held his hands out to take them. All his joints had an advanced hydraulic system attached, allowing him to lift and hold rather heavy loads well beyond regular human capacity. Three textbooks was simple and wouldn't bother him at all, so he gladly took them up in his arms and began to walk with Maylynn leaning on him.

"It won't take long." He reassured, picking his way through the busy crowds on the shortest route back to the man's room. The throngs of people began to thin as they got to the dooms and Maylynn's room was right up ahead.

"Are you feeling alright?" He stopped in front of the door. "Do you need further assistance?"
