Braided cord it was! She took a length of the chosen cord, estimating just how much she needed, and capped the ends with a silver eye and hook. She was quick in doing all this, having made a few types of jewelry before so the routine was fairly easy now. She could probably do it in her sleep.
"Well, my tutor helped me make my first key, but that kind would let anyone use it. Although that was a basic one just so I can get a feel for it. The only person I've ever given a key to was my cousin, Devias. Until you came along that is," she giggled. "Devias let me practice making it a couple of times with him. He was always helping with stuff."
She held a lot of respect for Devias, that fact was clear. "I should introduce you to him. He'll be happy to meet you!" Lorencia took the crystal and put a silver cap on one end and pushed it down. Lorencia pinched the cap and her fingers glowed. The metal cap looked like it had shrunk a little, taking the hexagonal shape. When she tried separating it from the trinket with a hard tug, it didn't budge. A great sign.
The cap had a thick eye that was split at the middle, allowing it to be easily clipped to the necklace. At first, she left it loose so she could adjust its position so it would hang dead center on the necklace, then again pinched it with glowing fingers to make it lock around the cord. "Aaaand it's done!" she declared proudly, offering it to Victor. "What do you think?"
