Hah'en hissed quietly, as the healer applied the last medicated plaster onto her arm. Most of her smaller injuries had healed or were healing, but there were some more severe burns and injuries that Hah'en regeneration couldn't heal. There was a burn on her right arm, fracture on her left shin and a big bruise on her left upper arm.

"You should be good to go after few days, I healed the fracture most of the way, now it just has to heal."
The healer said, and Hah'en nodded. After a quick thank you she left the arena infirmary, already back in her civilian clothes that consisted of tight black polo shirt, white jeans and simple grey and blue sneakers. As usual Hah'en hair was free and flowed around her shoulders, as she walked towards the exit. Hah'en had all the intention to heal as quickly as possible, so she could participate in her next match and win. Straga had been a test run, a small appetizer for her possible employer. She hadn't even gone all-out. But Hah'en had all the intention to absolutely crush her other opponents.

Hah'en had a crutch the healer had suggested she used to keep the weight off her leg, and Hah'en happily complied. If it helped the healing process Hah'en would deal with it. But as she turned a corner and almost collided with someone she was frustrated to see that the crutch got in the way of dodging. Hah'en put too much weight on her fractured shin, the pain made her stumble and she had to lean on the wall for support momentarily. Hah'en clicked her tongue, a habit she had for when she was irritated or frustrated, and took a moment to just stand and readjust the crutch. Thankfully she could get rid of it after tomorrow...

Adryan loved games. Gambling. Sport. Fights. It was for this reason he had frequented the arena multiple times. On this outing, though, he had a pleasant surprise. One of the combatants was his attacker from a job recently. He knew it was from the weapon she used. Adryan would never forget how it looked.

After her match was done, he was a little disappointed that she had lost, but he also realized she was holding back some of her abilities. He decided to go find her, and have a little fun.

Waiting down the hall and around the corner from the infirmary, Adryan could hear the clack of thr crutch coming his way. Not moving out of the way could be seen as rude but Adryan didn't care. She was the only person to ever catch him. As she stumbled and regained her balance against the wall Adryan chuckled.

"Dropped something."

A single hand held a small piece of paper out to her. 'You only succeeded because I wasn't there, Little Thief,' was written on the note. He had found it when he had returned for the statuette which now sat peacefully in his own house. "You know she can kill you right?"

Hah'en didn't even notice at first that the person who she had almost collided with hadn't left, until he spoke to her with a...familiar voice. Hah'en froze and turned to look at him, and the note she had left on the underside of the statue she had been hired to guard few days back. The note had been an impulse, sometimes even Hah'en indulged in some harmless pranks and fun. But she really hadn't counted on the pretty thief finding her again, and in such a state, no less...

"Ugh..."
was the first sound Hah'en let out, and looked at the man with a mix of irritation and fatigue. The man looked just as petty in daylight as in a dark library.
"You realize I could turn you in, correct? I thought you weren't an idiot but it seems like I have to re-evaluate my opinion."
Hah'en let out another exasperated sigh, and stopped leaning on the wall. She still leaned on her crutch though, not wanting to make her injury worse because of something stupid like pride. Besides, Hah'en would still win against this thief even when injured like this and they both knew that.

"And I thought you were a good fighter but here you are..."

The comment was snarky and meant to be a dig. "Seriously.... she could kill you," Nux almost begged with him. Adryan knew she wasn't going to do anything however. Didn't seem her style.

"Besides turn me in for what? What proof besides your testimony vs mine. Trust me, it's not what it looks like. I can get out of a lot of thing. "

He triggered the ability as either a subtle reminder to her, or to just convince her period. But his attitude softened and he put on a genuine smile.

"Besides, you intrigue me..."

Hah'en was a good fighter and this man's half-baked insult didn't really affect her. She didn't need his validation and his opinion was meaningless to her, and it showed how minimally she reacted to his words.
"Here I am, indeed, and here I go."
Hah'en said in a disinterested voice and continued walking, not sparing the man another glance. But she just knew this thief was going to follow her...

Hah'en was now aware that the man had an ability that made people believe his words. When the man said those words, 'It's not what it looks like', the night Hah'en had stopped him sprung to mind. He had said those words in the sentence that had almost forced Hah'en to believe him, and he hadn't used them after that when he hadn't used his ability. And now, when the man said he could get away with a lot of things, Hah'en believed him. Sincerely believed him. Hah'en frowned and glanced at the man while they walked. Was that phrase somehow linked to his ability? Must've been, because he had most probably used it on Hah'en just now. Hah'en clicked her tongue again, angry that she had been manipulated like that. But at least the man hadn't made Hah'en believe anything more absurd.
But just in case Hah'en created a small cloud of her thinnest mist, enough to cover herself. She would not let the man affect her again.
"I would've believed in your ability to get away with a lot of things even without you using that petty trick of yours"
Hah'en said with a small eye roll as she kept walking. She wasn't going to turn the man in anyway, what he did now was none of her business. As long as he didn't get in Hah'en's way she had no reason to get in his way. Besides, if the man was this careless about approaching those that had captured him before then he was going to get caught sooner or later. Probably sooner.

She intrigued him, huh? That wasn't a first. Hah'en was intriguing in many ways to many people. But she hoped this particular thief wasn't intrigued by her, he seemed like a pain.
Well, at least he stopped being fake for few seconds. Hah'en was used to lies and pretense but that didn't mean she liked it.
"What must I do to stop being so intriguing to you?"
Hah'en asked with a sigh.

"Wasn't meant to make you believe me. Was to prove to you I could. I know it's too simple for some people without really digging into a story. You're one of those people. Reason I didn't try it again the other night."

Adryan turned quickly on his heel and fell into step next to her. He knew he was agitating, but it was part of who he was. A little game he liked to play. He smiled as she asked basically how she could get rid of him.

"Uhh...you could have not been there that night. Other than that...you might be stuck with me."

Everyone had certain buttons. Those buttons changed from person to person. It was almost an art to find what they were on each person. Adryan had figured out real quick that Hah'en's button right now was him.

"Hah'en wasn't it?"

Adryan raised an eyebrow and looked over to her with his hazel green eyes as they continued to walk.

This man was confusing. One thing the other moment, another one the second. He acted idiotically when he approached Hah'en, but now he yet again proved that he wasn't stupid. Hah'en wasn't hung up on knowing everything she possibly could about others. As long as she could be efficient and quick that was enough for her, and along the way she had just naturally developed a keen sense for people. But Hah'en couldn't quite grasp this thief and it was frustrating her. So, she clicked her tongue quietly once more. Something she had started to do a lot when this man was involved.
But Hah'en had grasped one thing, and that was that this man liked messing with people, messing with her. And, to her utmost regret and frustration, he was succeeding.

"A simple 'you can do nothing' would have been sufficient."
Hah'en said, as the thief basically said that outside pretty much changing the past she wouldn't be able to chase him away. And Hah'en wasn't so desperate that he'd actually try something so ridiculous and dangerous.
"If you insist on sticking to me for now I will give you advice; drop the pretenses and we might be able to have a civilized conversation"
Because if the thief acted genuine and honest Hah'en would have a lot easier time tolerating him, no matter what kind of personality he had. Hah'en held honesty and straightforwardness in high esteem.

"You saw my fight. In which case you already know you are right."
That was one thing Hah'en still felt uncomfortable with. So many people knowing her name now. But they needed to know so possible employers would know who they were hiring, and most of the people would probably more or less forget her name anyway as they moved on to watch the other, more flashy fights on the arena.
"I leave it up to you to decide whether or not you will name yourself, I will most probably keep calling you petty thief nevertheless"
Hah'en smiled for the first time now, a little snarky smile, because believe it or not she could also act like she didn't have a stick up her ass.

"Oh but it's so fun seeing you get all worked up. You're cute when your frustrated."

Adryan had to throw at least one more quip out there. He was too quick witted to not when he was set up so perfectly for it. He shook his head quickly and chuckled.

"Ok ok...seriously. Uh name...hmm...I've been honest with you this whole time, and don't normally do this, but you really could have done me in the other night. Adryan. Adryan Speed."

"What?! What are you doing?!" Nuxxau exclaimed inside Adryan's head, causing his vessel to grimace a little bit. He didn't make it a habit going around telling everyone his actual name, but he felt Hah'en really wouldn't care what it was. She didn't seem like the kind to turn him in, unless he crossed her while she was working again.

There it was. Hah'en had just been waiting for the thief to use a word such as "cute" or "adorable" or anything along those lines, as those words usually were the ones to most frustrate people with Hah'en's disposition. People who were serious and wanted to be taken seriously. Hah'en, once upon a time, had been no exception. She had lost her cool before being called such things by people exactly like this man. But Hah'en had more or less been desensitized to it at this point. She had been called "cute" so many times just for the sake of making her lose her guard that Hah'en was just tired of giving a reaction to it. So she didn't, she just kept walking.

The thief gave Hah'en a name. Adryan Speed. Whether that was a fake name or not didn't really matter to Hah'en, because she was a woman of her word. Adryan was still just a thief to her. Though Hah'en hadn't yet met a person with a surname that had a direct meaning, and one thing came to mind that made a small genuine amused smile rise to Hah'en's face.
"Your magical powers are perfect for a petty thief but your last name does not reflect your abilities in the least."
Hah'en commented and glanced at the thief with a vaguely amused and teasing expression. She saw the sudden grimace on the thief's face and she could guess it wasn't related to her comment. Hah'en could easily guess there was more to the thief, it went without saying, but she wasn't curious enough about him to ask.

Adryan chuckled as she commented about his abilities not matching his last name. It's not like he picked his last name, and it's not like Nux gave him the abilities based on his name. He gave him abilities that would help in....acquiring items.

"Speed isn't always a physical trait. Speed can be of mind as well. Plus it's not like I chose it."

He winked to her subtly and crossed his arms as he kept following her along. Petty thief. Adryan was anything but a petty thief. Petty thieves pick pocketed $10 from someone. Maybe a tv from a struggling family. Adryan preferred to think of himself as an extreme collector.

"Petty is a bit of an understatement. I'm one of the greatest thieves of all time."

Adryan loved to brag about himself, but he knew it wouldn't mean much to Hah'en. She wouldn't be impressed and it wasn't what he was attempting to do. Was just something he did.
