"That may or may not be true, but nevertheless, my statement stands."
Hah'en commented, the teasing smile still vaguely present though disappearing gradually. The thief certainly wasn't as fast as Hah'en, and although he seemed to be faster of mind she still thought not quite as much as Hah'en. But that was something that would be harder to prove, and Hah'en had no interest in proving it.

"Whether or not you are petty is up to my own personal judgement."
Hah'en said with finality, she wouldn't be explaining her standards or reasons for why the thief was or wasn't petty in her opinion. Hah'en mostly called this man a petty thief not because his thievery itself was petty, but also based on her opinion about his personality. Which thus far hadn't impressed Hah'en, just like the man's self-bragging wasn't impressing her in the least.

They arrived on the street outside the arena, and for a moment Hah'en considered sprouting her wings and flying away. But she wasn't wearing her clothes with the wings flaps today, so that option was out unless Hah'en would strip her polo, and that was out of the question. She wasn't that desperate to get away from the thief.
Hah'en looked at the thief with her other brow slightly raised and very serious expression.
"I do not want you to know the location of my private residence. I know I cannot stop you from following me at least part of the way if you truly wish to do so, but if you do not leave the moment I tell you to I will call be police, or beat you to a condition where you cannot stand do you decide to force my hand. Am I making myself clear?"

Adryan pursed his lips together and smiled to her again. He was most definitely petty of personality. It seemed that's more of what she was meaning than an actual descriptor of the kind of thief he was.

"Fair enough statement. But I promise I'm a not that bad when you get to know me."

Their walk had taken them out to the street finally. Hah'en seemed to be having a debate with herself, before finally giving him an ultimatum. It was a fair enough deal. It's not like he would want her finding out where he lived either.

"I can respect that. You didn't have to threaten me. Could of just stopped at whatever point and been like, 'You will go no closer to where I reside. Leave now.'"

Adryan did his best to mock her tone and how she talked. He was far from a voice actor so it was terribly done. It was just him trying to get a smile out of Hah'en.

"I have no intention of getting to know you."
Hah'en stated coldly, though she was pretty sure that even if she said that it wouldn't make this thief go away. And Hah'en knew that if this thief kept bugging her then she would have no choice but to learn things about him, since she couldn't exactly just shut him and his words out completely. Hah'en wasn't nearly emotionless enough to do that.

"I didn't have to threaten you that night either, but it kept you out of my way, so it was effective."
Hah'en in turn said, and then allowed a small smile to rise to her face for few moments.
"Your voice mimicking is abysmal."
With that Hah'en turned and started walking down the street towards her apartment, which was around 10 blocks away from here.

"To be fair, you didn't have to stop me either."

Adryan caught what appeared to be a smile form on her face. It brought out another smile on him. He narrowed his hazel green eyes as if he was searching for something small or far away as he looked over her face.

"Is that...did you...you do smile."

For a while Adryan believed she might have been completely emotionless, but didn't think it was so when she insisted on calling him 'petty thief.' Doing something like that required some level of snark.

"I never claimed to be an actor. "

When the thief asked whether or not Hah'en had just smiled she didn't bother answering such a ridiculous question verbally. She smiled like a normal person, no need to be so dramatic about it. So Hah'en just rolled her deep blue eyes and kept walking, her steps more and more certain as she got used to the crutch.

"That is a shame, it would greatly improve your success as a petty thief"
Hah'en commented, and meant it. Many thieves she had met had been entertainers and performers on the side, and they had been very skilled at what they did. Hah'en had admired them so much that she had briefly tried to be an actress. In the end she had been "too stiff" as the theater leader had said. But at least now Hah'en could cry on cue.
Hah'en stopped for a moment to reach into her bag and pulled out her water bottle. It was very important for her to remain hydrated. Hah'en kept walking, now sipping from her water bottle.

Now he got an eyeroll out of her. There seemed to be a good bit more than the hard, stern exterior that she portrayed. Adryan doubted he would crack that shell in the short walk they had left, but eventually. He had a goal now.

"The only time I've been caught... acting only would of helped if it could have kept me from being thrown from a window. And I doubt it would have."

The thief grimaced a little and grabbed his side where he had landed and slid. The reminder was real. It would have been enough to knock most thieves down a notch. Not Adryan. He understood someone would have the abilities that would perfectly counter him. And it seemed like Hah'en had just that.

The only time he had been caught? Hah'en gave the thief a vaguely incredulous look, then huffed quietly and shook her head a bit.
"I assure you, you will encounter many other people on this island that can catch you. And when they do I hope they will intrigue you more than I do."
Hah'en said, and ignored the thief grabbing his side with a grimace. If Hah'en had truly wanted to injure him she would've done so back when it had been allowed inside that dim library.
"The next person to catch you might not be kind enough to open the window before throwing you out of it."

"Honestly was expecting to go through. Glad you opened it first. Could have messed up my pretty face."

A hand came up to his chin and rubbed up his cheek and back down to exaggerate his comment. Adryan had done several jobs on the island already, he knew the dangers of it. But he also knew how to handle himself.

"That night was a fluke and a lack of judgment. I can promise you it won't happen again."

He knew he would better prepare himself from now on. No more going out without his research. Adryan chuckled at Hah'en's comment.

"Intrigue me more than you? Nah."

"The cost of the glass would've been taken from my pay."
Was all Hah'en said, ignoring the thief's comment about him looking pretty. Although Hah'en found it to be slightly strange for the thief to call himself pretty, if he was anything he was more handsome than pretty. Perhaps it was a saying of some sorts, English was still new for Hah'en even with the language charm she had been given. Ovaali was a very flowery language, you'd think Hah'en would learn to recognize simple sayings and double meanings.

"No need for such promises, I could not care less."
Hah'en said with a small sigh, and put her water bottle back in her bag. The thief was slowly starting to drain Hah'en's already almost empty social battery, she needed to get inside her apartment's four walls and do some meditation and perhaps some careful yoga.

"I can always hope."
Hah'en's tone was humourless, for even though the thief had proven himself to be less infuriating that Hah'en had originally thought he was still exhausting. He reminded Hah'en of an ex she had back in her old world, their affair had not ended amicably. As a parting gift he had stolen a priceless jewel-engraved dagger from Hah'en's treasury. Naturally she had later tracked him down, gotten her dagger back and after beating the man she had left him hanging naked from the main square central flagpole. It had been very satisfying.

"So tell me this. I have my suspicions why you did it, but why did you hold back in your fight?"

He wanted to hear it from her. While rumors and assuming had their place, it was usually better to hear it from the source. Adryan figured she held back a bit because she didn't want to give away everything she had. Keep an ace up her sleeve so to say.

"You really didn't use your mist, if at all."

The mist. It had been the major thorn in his side the night they had 'met.' It was an extremely useful skill and properly negated his own abilities. His invisibility was useless when the mist could just wrap around him, showing exactly where he was.
