Adelina sighed inwardly. Alright, so he was right, she wasn't pure evil; but she still wasn't nice. She was the kind of person most sane people would try to avoid because of how rude she was. "Well, if you have no one else to go with but your sister, then why are you even going to bother going at all?" she asked him. "It's not like it's some big deal or anything that you absolutely HAVE to go to. Even if it might be fun, I still say it isn't worth it at all." She shrugged her shoulders, still refusing to go with him. However, she knew that she might give in soon, depending upon what was said.

He knew she hadn't...she hadn't even been at the school that long.

"I dunno. Like I said, it might be fun. It would beat staying in your dorm all night, wouldn't it?"

Adelina shrugged her shoulders. "Well, if it turned out being boring, I would wish I had stayed in my dorm. Besides, there's something called 'reading' that you could do if you didn't go to a stupid festival." She knew that she wasn't going to win this argument. She was more than sure, but she could still try, right?

"How do you know it's not worth it? You've never been before, have you?"

"Nope," she said. "But every other kind of dance at my old schools or whatever this Fall thing is was boring. So, what would make this one any different? Oh, wait, let me guess — the fact that this time, there's kids with powers?" The young woman rolled her eyes. She would probably have to give in soon, even though she honestly didn't want to go. October would be so shocked, and would probablytease her, and then there was always the other students that might think she and Andrew were a couple. Of course, if there were any of those students, she could always beat them up or something violent like that... she smirked inwardly at that thought, but kept her mind on their current conversation.

Andrew was beginning to feel like he shouldn't even bother until she said that. "Well, if it IS really boring, you could always leave-go to your dorm and read. Or if I turn out to be bad company." He grinned.

"But every other kind of dance at my old schools or whatever this Fall thing is was boring. So, what would make this one any different? Oh, wait, let me guess — the fact that this time, there's kids with powers?" Andrew laughed. "Yup!" He could tell she was beginning to reconsidered.

Adelina was completely silent. She bit the inside of her lip, eyes narrowed as she looked away from him. She knew she was about to break, and she was trying to remain silent for as long as she could so as not to let him know that. However, it was only a matter of time before she looked back at him. "Fine!" she said. "I'll go with you, are you happy now?" She growled, knowing that she would probably have to hear this for the rest of the year. From him, from October, from other students... giving in was probably the worst thing she could have ever done.

"Yeah, I am actually. Sorry, I shouldn't have argued. You don't have to go if you don't want to." Andrew said. He wanted her to go with him, but he couldn't-well, he could, he just wouldn't force her. He met her gaze and held it.

Adelina swallowed when he met hr gaze, feeling a bit uncomfortable, but not entirely. She turned her eyes away from his and just sighed. "I'll go, alright? Let's just drop it before I change my mind." She didn't turn her eyes back to him, afraid he would try to meet them with his again.

Andrew grabbed her arm so she'd look at him again. He didn't hold it tightly, but not loosely enough that she could yank it away. "Really, Adelina, I don't want you to feel like I'm forcing you to go." He said gently.

Adelina swallowed nervously when he took her by the arm, and looked at him, a bit shocked for a moment. She didn't like the fact that he was touching her, she didn't like it at all. She narrowed her eyes, trying to pull her arm away only to find that he was holding onto her tightly enough so that she couldn't do that. She cursed under her breath, having no other choice than to look him in the eye, which still made her feel uncomfortable. "I want to go with you, ok? Like you said, it might be fun. Now could you LET GO of me?" She was lying, of course, but it sounded like the truth; this young woman was a good liar. She hoped that he would let go of her, because she didn't like him holding her like that.

Andrew immediately let go of her arm, but he held her gaze for a moment longer. He turned away and stared straight ahead. Okay... he said slowly. She sounded like she wanted to go, but she could be a really good liar. Might as well not risk it, he thought.
