THE AFTERMATH:
A massive, hundred foot ice spike erupted out of a house on Cherry Blossom Street in Manta Carlos's residential district. While initially localized to a single house, the damage rapidly spread, destroying seven houses and causing damage to several more.
A small group who were near the spike were temporarily warped to an alternate dimension, but managed to return with several injuries. Among them were two juvenile residents of Manta Carlos Island, and a man who identified himself as December of the Twelve.
For the first time since December first, the snow over Manta Carlos ceased to fall. There was no mass-melt, but the snow is now natural, and the weather is once more behaving normally.

The news has not yet been released, although it's generally understood that December, somehow, was connected to the snow. However, the appearance of two other juveniles who were taken into police custody has spread a number of rumors.
Those who went into the pocket dimension: Unless you have a reason not to be, your character's eardrums are ruptured. The damage is expected to heal completely within a week or two for normal humans, but most will suffer some amount of hearing loss for the next week or two. For those not more seriously injured, they'll be released within a few hours of arriving at the hospital, having given their statements to the police.
Those that ran in are seriously admonished for putting themselves at risk.
