It wasn't so much that Emily was dense, it was more that she hadn't been expecting that, nor had she been expecting Lei's phrasing of the matter. She blinked, and unconsciously glanced down at Lei's crotch and back up to his face. It took her mind a couple seconds to process this information. Then she took a step back and her face flushed again, her eyes darting down and up once more. "W-What!?"

She quickly covered her mouth with her hands, the outburst unintended. "I-I-I'm s-sorry... I-I wasn't expecting th-that..... U-Um..." Once again she was flustered, though she had gotten her voice under control and dropped it to just above a whisper. "..... I-I mean... D... Do you like to... Th-There's nothing wrong with th-that....."

Em just sort of accepted that they were moving on, not pressing the subject any more. There were more important things to think about now, like getting into that dress. "... O-Okey..." She flashed a smile at Lei. "But you have to tell me how I look alright, no lying..."

"There's everything wrong with that I mean —" Lei's combative stance faltered and he dragged his hand down his face, sighing. He wouldn't expect someone like her to understand. It seemed like her junk aligned with what she wanted to be. "It's not... normal."

He crossed his arms and looked at the store. Lei took the initiative to start walking back inside, Emily in tow. "Don't worry. I'm in the Fashion Club. I'll make sure you don't wear anything too dumb."

Lei approached one of the racks and started browsing around the selection. To be honest, these dresses were a little too much. They would draw attention in public. Lei pulled out a blue, frilly dress decorated with ribbons that would match Emily's blonde hair and showed it to her. "Here, try this on."

"S-So... If I wore b-boys clothes it wouldn't be normal? O-Or is it just you w-wearing the dresses?" Emily was trying to figure out what it was Lei had an issue with. She was being very careful how she worded things. She didn't want Lei to be uncomfortable with anything they were talking about, but she felt like she got the feeling Lei didn't quite understand their feelings themselves and she wanted to help.

She giggled a little as they entered the store. "Well, I-I wasn't planning on w-wearing anything dumb. Glad I h-have an expert on h-hand to inform my fashion d-decisions." She accepted the dress and her face lit up. She was getting excited now, she was going to get to show off a little and she didn't get to do that very often.

"A-Alright, j-just give me a moment." She accepted the dress and darted off into the changing room. It wasn't too long before she emerged again, decked out in the frilly mess of a dress. It wasn't quite fitted to her dimensions, but it was close enough. She turn her hips and looked down at the skirt flitting around her legs, a small smile spread over her face. "Wh-What do you think? How d-does it look?"

"Girls can wear boy clothes. Boy can't wear girl clothes..." He trailed off, making a 'hmm' voice. Lei was a traditional person, but he was also a very rational one. Why did that double standard exist anyway? He scratched his head. "Look, that's just how it goes, all right?"

He was thankful there was a change of subject, though. While Emily was changing, Lei's fingers began to scan through the rack of clothes. God, these were so... pretty. Why did girl clothes have to be so pretty and guys were confined to the same old shirts and jeans? It really wasn't fair. Why do men hate themselves.

When Emily came out, Lei pressed his back to the counter to get a better look. He smiled, giving her a thumbs up.

"You know, that whole look's good for you. You should dress up more often. Hold up..." Lei pulled out another of her dress from the rack. "It's a bit tight, so try this one on."

"Alright, fine if y-you say so Lei." She giggled a little. "I'm sure th-there are many men who d-disagree with you though."

Em twirled a little, letting the hem spin around her thighs a whole bunch and just generally enjoying wearing a dress. "You think s-so? I can't carry a-anything in these though, I like pockets in my e-everyday clothes."

She accepted the new dress and stepped back into the changing room. She reemerged with a dress that was almost perfectly fitted to her. "Wow... H-How'd you know this was my size?"

Lei grinned. "I'm smart," he said plainly, almost arrogant. Having a bunch of siblings and passing around clothes made him quite intuitive about them regarding size. "I think you can bust this up for special occasions, but if you want pockets, let's... hmm."

He grabbed a blue dress from one of the racks. It wasn't as cute as this one, but it had a bunny hoodie and a couple of pockets. The skirt was flat. It was the sort of thing that was low key cute, perfect for days where you want to feel nice but not draw too much attention. He showed it to Emily. "How about this one?"

Emily giggled a little, looking herself over in a nearby mirror. "I might add it to my c-collection I guess. I could find an occasion f-for it." She let herself admire herself for a moment until Lei handed her the next outfit.

She blinked at it a little bit, tilting her head slightly. "I d-don't know... But I guess there's no h-harm in trying it o-on..." She stepped into the dressing room again and took her time to fit it on. Timidly, she stepped out again, hood up and bunny ears flopping around her face. "I... I feel like I'm tw-twelve... Is... This w-what you like?..."

Lei blushed. There was nothing wrong with cute, all right? Besides, if one looked at Asian MTV, it was so obvious that the trend was cute. He supposed it might been different for white people, though. They had no taste.

"I mean... you look adorable?" He picked out a similar dress which traded the bunny design for cute checkered patterns of ghosts. "But I guess if you want something less... uh. Bunny ears. This is a pretty good choice." He chuckled. "Are you planning on buying anything?"

Emily glanced at herself in the mirror, tilting her head a little as her eyebrows knit together. The bunny ears flopped over to the side. "Do you think so? I-I guess... I can kind of s-see it...?" She could understand how it could look good on some people, but Em was having a hard time seeing herself pull it off.

She tried out a few poses, trying to find one that worked, but none of them fit as cute. "No... I don't think this o-one works on me..." She took the other and looked it over. "I-I don't know... this things are kind of expensive... I m-might come back though... What about you? I think th-there were some shirts somewhere... O-Or maybe for someone who does w-want to wear them?..."

Emily once more disappeared into the changing room. Once she returned she looked herself over, then turned to Lei and raised her hands up, flaring out her fingers. "Boo... A-Am I spooky?" a small giggle followed the mock display.
