Who Needs Control?

James was in this class because of his prison experience apparently. He was here because he didn't control his powers enough. He could electrocute someone at will, and kill lots of humans and mutants.

James completely disagreed, and stormed out the class, instead, finding a class for increasing the accuracy of ranged powers. This was what he needed to control. Not his temper. If someone annoyed him, then let them feel the 1000000 volt consequences.

He unscrewed the lightbulb from the firing station, and placed it on the floor, before charging up a shot, and firing it as a dummy. Which was supposed to be a dangerous person. Then he fired it at a tanker, which pretended to blow up.

It was crude, but effective, and he was doing well at shooting bolts of lightning at fake people, which made it funnier. They didn't have that feeling human kills did. They were insignificant.

"Oh this is so much better than control!" James exclaimed as he charged a high energy volt and let it fly at the target, obliterating it.

"HAHA!"

James's falter in concentration made every light in the room flicker and waver in brightness, something which was offputting in itself.

"I was doing well... And now I can't do anything..." James needed to wait for him to rezone before trying any more zapping tricks. Not without blowing someone up.

"Why did you do that? Stupid human." James acted as if Paragon was below him, just an ant to be crushed under giant lightning boots, not an immortal teacher.

"I am much more powerful than you."

"When you prove to me otherwise, then you have the right to order me around. Until then..." James drew more power from the light socket, the bright blue arcs of electricity turning purple. He charged it into a ball, collecting it in the air, before launching it at a target marked "indestructible", and suddenly felt his arms burning as he pumped more electricity through them, trying to destroy the target.

"Gah!" James gave up and let the electric current simply stop. He picked up the lightbulb, and felt his flesh burn, making him drop it and smash.

James felt himself lose his temper and discharge a good 50 volts of electricity to the nearest person.

This guy.

He hadn't been expecting to be insulted on his intelligence, and he hated being called stupid. And to James this guy had done just that. A whole 50 volts was probably just going to burn him nastily for a few seconds. Before the electric damaged this guy's nerves so bad he couldn't feel. That would be good.

James' flesh was just singed, just enough to make it hurt, but nothing too nasty.

James didn't even apologise for however much it hurt. He just simply stepped over the shards.

"Nothing is indestructible." James began to walk out of the room.

This guy was seriously causing James to really get angry. If James wasn't sick of prison, he would have let his temper go. But he was sick of it. That incident with the girl in prison was going to be a one off if they were mutants. Humans, they could feel that as much as they wanted. But this guy would have to actually hurt James badly to make him do that.

In short terms, James could barrage a person's nervous system with pain signals, so extreme that it classifies as mutilation, and torture. It eventually kills the person, by forcing their heart and brain to shut down.

And he had only ever done it once, to a girl who tried to read his mind in prison after trying to bed him in their cell. She died after an hour of being unable to fall unconscious, the pain was apparently that unbearable.

And after that, he swore not to hurt any mutant like that. Humans were fine. But the gifted were not targets.

Instead, James simply turned off the electricity and kept walking.

"I don't buzz people for kicks old man."

William dragged his feet lazily over the floor as he followed behind his overly spirited creature that was curiously sniffing the dry air of the gymnasium as he inspected the high ceilings above as well as the dummies on the ground. He stopped to wait for him when he saw that the boy was getting further and further away, biting into his leg as a punishment when he was finally close.

'You know, those stopped hurting a long time ago.', William said as he petted the creatures back. The creature said nothing, growling instead into the 'wound' hoping to make a statement.

'Why are you so angry, anyway?' the boy asked when the creature finally realised his leg.

'Aren't you at least a bit curious?', the wolf asked in as much of a worried voice as he could master.

William raised his left eyebrow. 'Of course I am. Look at the way you're running around.'

The creature sighed, unable to become truly worried since the day William's emotions truly died and he started feeling them for him. 'Let's go see what's on the other end then.'

'Of course.'

Were you part of this mess?

Spirit was the first one to raise his head to the sound. The dry air of the gym distracted him from smelling anyone else, and now, suddenly, they were face to face with two people they didn't know, both of which looked fairly angry. The creatures body tensed. William's followed.

'What mess?', he asked, surprising both Spirit and himself. His voice was still flat though, while Spirit's tail twitch from the nervousness he should feel.

'We just got here.', Spirit added when he saw that the boy we'll say no more. 'Leave us out of it.'

"Wow. A wolf. What's your gift?" James was rather impressed actually. A wolf as an ally. That would be dangerous.

"And I buzzed you because you insulted me. I don't get enjoyment out of buzzing fellow gifted people. I only enjoy frying humans." James spoke viciously, just wanting to leave this room and go to his room. He had his own room because of his violent tendencies.

And his prison history.

'I'm no wolf, kid.', Spirit said, lowering his back, and pulling back the skin over his sharp teeth in a growl. 'I'm something a bit more dangerous.' As Spirit's body tensed even further, William stepped back behind him, allowing the creature to protect him if necessary. In the same time, he took a casual defending stance, for neither of them liked what they just heard.

'Did he say he can buzz people?', William asked in a low voice. Spirit's only answer was another loud growl.

"I noticed you're immortal. Otherwise my discharge of that 50 volts earlier would have killed you, despite my efforts to make it hurt. That's why I was hitting the indestructible target. To get my anger out on something. Years in prison does that to you." James snarled, before sticking the small watch battery into his mouth. The voltage wouldn't be enough to kill, only hurt. Although if he turned the current up and the volts down, he would still kill someone. Like an electrical transformer.

"And you, Wolfie. Don't get in my way." James took a small look at the wolf in his electro-vision. It didn't exist. And illusion perhaps?
