To give a long thread a short summary: Gabe was very mad. He yelled at Angelo before realizing he'd been crying, and the two had a heart to heart. Gabe told Angelo about his own past with his loans, and Angelo told him more or less everything. About his dad, about his secrets. About how he'd lost his arm.

Jude was slowly becoming aware that he was, in his own way, driving Gabe absolutely insane. A part of him liked that. It felt oddly good, knowing he could have that kind of effect. Gabe reminded him of himself, in that way. Getting flustered at things. He'd been bad with physical contact, and now he was better, but that only went so far.

"Which kind of leads to the end of the story," Jude said. "When I bonded with Giltenn, I wanted to tell my dad, but Giltenn said no. They said Adraxis would probably take my arm off, so I didn't. I kept quiet. Life kept going on. I kept Giltenn a secret from anyone but my team. I kept my dad a secret from anyone but my team. I had secrets and secrets and secrets, and then they came home to roost. Rory... Rory was talking to Breakneck. She made a comment that she was tired of having Basilio looming overhead. He misunderstood. He thought Basilio was threatening us, and he told her to keep her head down and ran off. She called me, and I tried to call him and he didn't answer. We tried to work it out, but we decided that we didn't want to say anything to anyone. If we did, the whole thing might come crashing down, so we decided to wait. At worst, he'd go to the New Sentinels. We'd have to explain things away."

Jude shifted, the discomfort obvious, and he let out a small exhale as he did.

"I came home. Things were normal. And then the lights went out, and he... he said some stuff. He thought I was my dad. He thought my dad was blackmailing us, so he decided to take matters into his own hand. He blew the house up, and I think I went through a wall. Giltenn saved my life. That's why I have this--because if I didn't, I'd have bled out on the ground before the hospital could have done anything."

His hands wandered up, tapping at the metal on his face and neck.

"That's when I lost my arm. That's why I'm not okay with secrets. If I hadn't tried to hide who I was for so long, if I'd told people I trusted rather than trying to keep the secret until the day I retired, none of that would have happened."

"So you worry about secrets because Breakneck... Ogod." Gabe could feel his stomach roll and face drop. No wonder Angelo had been so apprehensive about Breakneck when he got brought up. The man who was championed as a villain perfectly rehab'd had been the one that had tried to assassinate Basilio. The one who had blown Angelo up and had cost him his arm. He wanted to flip around and squeeze Angelo into a tight hug, but his position had left him with some difficulty moving without hurting the blond.

So he tried the next best thing. With one hand, he reached up to gently pat Angelo's cheek. That was a good way to show affection, right? His hand and poor assessment of where Angelo's cheek was, however, led Gabe to give the blondd a gentle bonk on the nose before sliding into proper place and resting where he meant it to be. "Sorry. But I can understand Giltenn's wariness about Adraxis, especially if the Gultha were already going haywire. The rest, however... is regrettable."

Moving his gloved hand softly against the cheek, feeling the smalls bits of metal that protruded out here and there, Gabe gave a small smile (not that Angelo would see it that well) and hummed. "Well, I'm glad you told me... well, all of it. After what happened earlier and before that... No, I don't want to think about it anymore. For now, I just want to enjoy you."

"...Time with you. Enjoy time with you."
Gabe amended, cheeks flaring again.

Jude smiled despite himself. The awkward little bump, the nerves...

"If you weren't so embarrassed," Jude said. "I'd think you were flirting with me." He couldn't stop the smile, and none of Gabe's embarrassment stopped Jude from effectively nuzzling into his hand.

But only for a moment. After a bit he simply changed his mind, turning around as he sat up, letting Gabe balance himself out. He wasn't exactly moving quickly, but he did loop around, shuffling until he was right in front of Gabe.

"I want to kiss you. Properly."

Gabriel.exe had stopped working.

So many things were happening at once, his brain couldn't keep up. Angelo nuzzling into his hand, the teasing about Gabe's 'flirting', and... and...

Oh gods, this was going to happen.

He took a deep breath in, trying to prepare himself for it. He was ready. He could do this! ...he couldn't do this. His heart was beating so loud he could have sworn in was rattling around in his skull. He opened and closed his mouth a few times before his voice barely broke through.

"...o-okay."

Gabe closed his eyes, too flustered to even look at Angelo.

It was a kiss, and all things considered, he had amazingly low standards for kisses. His first kiss had given him a megaseizure, and anything that didn't was a plus in his book. So he tried not to wind it up too much, just waited until Gabe said yes and then went for it. Chaste. Subdued. Just a kiss on the lips that lingered only a few moments before Jude pulled back, his eyes popping open on instinct as he watched Gabe for a reaction.

The feeling of Angelo's lips on his was briefn yet felt like forever. Despite the late autumn cold, Gabe felt like he was on fire. His face was flushed, and he opened his eyes slowly...
To see Angelo staring right at him.

Gabe wanted to pull back out of embarrassment, but took all of his willpower to keep himself locked in place. Giving the blond a smile, he leaned in and pressed his forehead to Angelo's. He didn't have the nerves to initiate another kiss, but he was fine like this.

...Barely.

Gabriel might not have had the nerves for another kiss, but Jude did. He knew what he was doing, and he knew what he wanted, and so he just went for it, pressing in again for another small, soft little kiss.

And then he pulled back before he fried Gabe's brain entirely, a smile on his lips despite the somberness of the situation that had led them there.

"Thanks for listening," Jude said quietly. "For hearing me out. The whole... big stupid story. But I think that's pretty much all of it, so now you know."

There were other secrets, but those secrets were often not his to tell. About Blade and about Broen. About his father. He'd told his own secrets.

Okay, now Angelo was just being ridiculous. Before Gabe could say anything, the blond had swooped in and kissed him again. He had watched this time as the pair's lips connected again, and seeing it was too much. His face was burning, and all he wanted to do was hide away in his coat. But that would have been rude, so Gabe settled for pulling the coat closer to his face and burying his head more into his scarf.

"Angelooooo." Gabe groaned in frustration, clearly trying not to freak out. The kissing was nice, but it would be too mucch for his heart at the moment. "You can't just... do that. But..." Gabe trailed off, once again moving in close and attempting a hug. Their seated position made it a little awkward, but he was trying. "You know I'm here for you. I like you a lot, Angelo. Your story is important, and I liked hearing about it. About you." He smiled, pulling away while smiling like a complete idiot.

To be fair, he was a completely lovesick idiot at the moment.

Gabe looked like he was going to merge into his coat.

"Sorry," Jude said, not sounding quite apologetic. No, he sounded more cheeky then anything, and he leaned against Gabe, relaxing into the position.

If he was being honest, his ass was starting to hurt from sitting on the hard ground, but it was worth it, wasn't it?

"It was a good talk," he admitted. "A good... a good getting to know each other session, even with shitty circumstances. So, I guess we should, uh, talk about what we're doing going forward."
