Jacob shrugged. "That's okay." He said, wondering if that happened to her quite a bit. She seemed very hyper. "When is your birthday?"
"April fourth," Claudia answered. She glanced around, just to look at the scenery. She knew she would be a teenager soon and that she most certainly didn't act like it, but oh, well. It didn't matter to her. She looked back to Jacob. "When's yours?"
Jacob grinned proudly. "March 8th." It was the same day as his grandmother's birthday, and he was proud of the fact. He tried to think of something else. "Where are you from?" He asked finally.
"Me? I'm from New Jersey," Claudia said. "What about you?" Again, the little girl looked around. All that was around was snow. She liked winter, but she liked spring, summer, and autumn more when the ground was easier to get to. Besides, it got really cold during this season. She didn't like cold weather.
Jacob nodded. "New York City, but before that, Manhattan." He said, again proudly. He had always adored living in New York, especially when he lived with his grandmother in the city.
Jacob grinned happily. "It's big, and it's bright, and it's noisy. And there's smog, but I don't mind it." He told her. "And what about New Jersey?" He imagined that it was quiet and peaceful.
"Well..." Claudia began slowly, thinking back to her home. It had been a nice neighborhood, not anything like where Jacob had lived. She didn't know about the rest of her state, so she could only speak for her town. "It wasn't anything like where you came from. It was peaceful, and quiet, and not too many people lived there. There wasn't any smog... well, pretty much the opposite of N.Y.C." The girl smiled again.
Jacob half-laughed. "No, it doesn't sound anything like New York at all." He replied. "Alright, we've talked about age, where we're from, the school..."
"How do you like it here so far?" he asked.

Claudia shrugged her shoulders. "I guess I like it," she said. "I really want to meet the other people, though. I want to know what kinds of cool powers they have!!" Her face brightened again. "You're the first person I've met here, Jacob. Anyway, how do you like it here?"
