An arm wrapping itself around her startled Ania, and she looked up in surprise. "I'm okay. He just surprised me, I think." She felt horrible for worrying him, but was still pretty excited about him hugging her close. The promise of cooler clothes made her perk up considerably, and Ania didn't feel so out of place anymore. A sly smile graced her features when she heard what cover up story he had created. "No ring? How shameful! I hope you're not thinking of children, too." She thought she preferred this story to the sibling one. This would create much more interesting things to talk about back home.
Movement caught the corner of her eye and she turned to watch the strange man bring back a pile of fabric. Were these the clothes or did he expect them to make their own? The way they were piled in his arms made it look shapeless, and Ania wondered if Hadrian had accidentally asked for plain bolts of fabric instead of clothes. "Um. Those are the clothes, right?"
