Doll swallows, not saying anything. She was not only scared, but now she felt the distance between them, brought on by the horrible events. Each step she helped him up, she felt the distance grow. It was enough for her to want to rip herself apart.

She starts to move again, biting her clothy lip and slowly moving slowly up each step. She hated it. The feeling of being pulled apart on the inside, like all her stuffing was migrating to a different, better place, leaving her an empty, crumpled mess.

As soon as they reached the top of the stairs, Jazariel almost crumbled to his knees. He leaned on the banister heavily, his body trembling. It wasn't healthy to go on like this, but he was the one who'd gotten himself into this, he would just have to deal with it. With a deep breath, Jaz forced himself to push forward, body severely hunched over.

"How far is your room from here?" he choked out. "I feel... dizzy..." he said, lifting a hand to his forehead, his breathing becoming shaky.

Doll shakes her head. "It's just down the hallway, but Jaz, please, you need to stop." her voice breaks. She feels helpless as she see's him so weak and in so much pain. It made her feel so hurt herself, like the pain was moving through him and onto her.

"Please.. Let's stop. You can't go on." she mumbles, looking down at her hands. "You'll hurt yourself more." her shoulders slump and her buries her face into his shoulder. "Please."

Stop? He needed to stop? But how could he stop?! He couldn't just collapse to his knees and allow his body to succumb to sleep, although that sounded wonderful - a coma sounded even better.

She was pleading then. Jazariel looked down at her before lifting his hand to her shoulder, trying his best to comfort her. She seemed upset... and it was because of him. Once again, Jazariel Akira had failed at his life's one and only goal and purpose. "I can't just stop here, Doll," he said softly. "It's only down the hallway, I can make it. Then I'll go to sleep and you can mother me and yell at me any way you please, all right?"

Doll smiles sadly. "I don't think I'm capable of yelling." She looks up at him, her big eyes glittering. "If you say you can make it, then.. Let's go." she wraps an arm around him and holds him up again, fumbling to open the large Ballroom door.

She helps him into the hall, and turns left, moving as slowly fast as she could without hurting Jazariel. The sooner they got him to a bed, the better. "There it s.. Third door on the left.." she mumbles, her free arm fumbling for her key.

"Anyone can be capable of anything," Jazariel said. She'd gotten angry at him once, she could get angry again and yell again like she had then. How easily she seemed to forget... but when there was no brain to process anything, he supposed that was something that could happen. He wondered how she even stayed alive...

They'd made it. It was hard to breathe; Jazariel wondered if in the time it had taken to get here the air suddenly no longer existed. Once she found her key and opened the door, Jazariel fumbled in through the threshold, collapsing to the floor only moments after entering.

"I'm sorry..." he mumbled, his voice muffled by the fact that his face was buried in the floor.

"I know, but that doesn't mean they have to reach for it.." she opens the door, and winces as they enter. She flips him over. "Please, please don't be sorry." she pulls him over to the bed, trying to get him onto it. "Does your face hurt?"

It was times like this Doll wished she were real. That Jaz could feel her heart, but she had none. It made her feel like a puppet without strings. But that's what she was, wasn't she?

She pulls the blankets back. "Just a little further, Jaz.."

White hair fell over his face when she turned him over. Jazariel peered at her weekly though the spaces between each strand and lock, doing his best to help her when he was brought to the be. Muscles trembling, Jazariel climbed on top and laid sprawled out, relaxing at the feel of a pillow beneath his head. "I'm fine," he mumbled. He was such a liar.

He groaned when she pulled the blankets back and contorted his body to fit under them. He hadn't even stripped down so he could sleep in more peace, but at this point it didn't matter. He just wanted to rest.

"You... whether you stay or leave is up to you," he said.

Doll smiles and pulls his shoes off and covers him with the blankets. She brushes the hair out of his face. "Oh, you're not fine at all.." she places her hand on his forehead. "But I won't leave you. Not now."

Thankfully we all found those novel books about old American sweethearts. I wished I had brought them, I'm sure they mentioned love once or twice! she chuckles silently and pulls a chair ((Let's say there's a chair. )) over from the desk and sits next to the bed, petting Jaz's hair. "Jaz..?" she asks quietly.

The feeling of blankets around him, shoes off his feet, and Doll's fingers brushing hair out of his face was a comfort. Jazariel laid there, eyes closed, almost too exhausted to even fall asleep. Shutting down his body would take too much energy, his mind seemed to reason. Jazariel was in limbo, somewhere between the world of slumber and the realm of the awake.

Her voice called his name, causing his eyes to immediately open and fix upon her. He blinked a few times so that his blurry vision would clear. "Mm?" he acknowledged, goading her to state her mind.
