Evie felt...odd being back on campus.
She'd spent the last two months locked up on the islets, framed for a crime she didn't commit by her doppelganger. The damage the fake had done was more or less repaired by now; the fountain in the centre of the courtyard that had been destroyed looked good as new, and most of the student body were aware she didn't do it. Life was moving on, like all the stress of being arrested hadn't even happened.
She supposed she didn't really have anyone else to blame for thinking she'd done it, given her own reputation. Everyone knew she was a troublemaker, she'd been caught doing plenty of petty vandalism before, and she had just turned eighteen the day before the crime. It wouldn't be hard to believe she just got hammered and blew up the fountain with her powers in a drunken fit.
But now she was out, and with all the DCA business happening, no one was really paying attention to what she was up to. It was time to move from all the stress of being locked up, and Evie knew just the way to do it.
So, in the afternoon, she stepped out from her dorm and began to make her way across the campus, not really paying attention to any of the other students and faculty around as she headed to the front gate.
