What is WRONG with me?!

Cordelia listened. Alright.... maybe he wasn't as bad as she thought. She shook her head, though; no man was entirely good. And besides, even if no one found out about the murder, it didn't mean it never happened. "Fine. I suppose it was my mistake to assume otherwise," she said. She absolutely despised admitting when she was wrong, but she supposed she had to in this case. However, the fact that she hadn't wanted to say it showed in her voice. "Forgive me." She started walking down the wood and off of it until she reached solid land. There was no more need to be there, in her opinion.

"You can call me Brooks, by the way," she said. She didn't feel like giving him her first name, so she supposed her last name was better.

Axel chuckles and sends a wall of fire on either side of her, "I don't ever recall saying you could leave.." he says, smirking at her, "You're different than the other saps at this school. You're not very nice and this has my interest. I kinda want to see what gives you that arrogant air.." With a chuckle he extends his hand and two round weapons appear in them. Each of them has eight knife-like blade jutting out around it, perfectly symmetrical. The center of it has a cross like handle running through it, "Let's see what you got.."

Cordelia blinked when the flames came up on the sides of her. One of the very few things she was actually afraid of... of course. Letting out a sigh, she turned back to face him, rolling her eyes when he said she couldn't leave. "I don't believe you ever said I had to stay, either," she commented. She shook her head, looking at the younger male. She wasn't very impressed or scared by those little weapons of his... even if they were fancier than her sword. She still had fangs, after all, which she wouldn't mind using to her advantage.

"And what if I don't feel like fighting you?" she asked him in a bored tone of voice.

Axel smiles at her, "Then I suppose you simply get your rear end handed to you on a silver platter.." Flames suddenly surround his body, like a shield preventing her from getting too close to them, "You see, I know your weaknesses, and I want to know if you can figure out how smart you are and if you can figure out how to stop me. There is only one true way to do it.." A chuckle escapes him as he casually begins to walk towards her, his weapons gripped in a relaxed way in his hands.

Cordelia wasn't liking all these flames. She really, really wasn't. She listened to what he said, watching as flames came around his body. She unsheathed her sword, a rather bored look upon her face, since she obviously wasn't in the mood for this. And it really hadn't taken her long to figure out how to beat him, so she couldn't even occupy herself doing that.

"Well, I must say, you must be rather confident," she started. "I mean... you control flames, and here you are, fighting near the ocean, of all things. I hope you realize that the only thing stopping me from pushing you off of here and into that freezing water are those little flames surrounding your body... but, honestly, I'm not afraid of a few little burns." She smirked, feeling rather confident now herself, and not caring that he was walking toward her.

Axel laughs, "Well, you figured out trick number one..however, now you must figure out trick number two, which is where most people fail." Suddenly he dives into the wall of flames surrounding her, his body disappearing and seeming to merge with the flames himself, "You ready for my next little puzzle?" he asks, suddenly behind her, "because this one is a doosy!" He then leaps back into the flames, a mad sounding laugh echoing from the flames. Suddenly from her left side, one of Axel's blades flies out at Addie, spinning wildly in her direction. "Here's a hint..the trick is going to be in the pattern." he says, his voice coming from all around her.

Cordelia was patient, watching as he went into the flames around her. Ok, this got her a bit nervous, since she couldn't exactly find him now. However, she did her best to keep herself calm. She turned around when he was behind her, but didn't have a chance to do anything before he was back into the flames. She rolled her eyes at his laughter, wondering when this fight was actually going to start.

She saw the blade out of the corner of her eye, and quickly got out of the way. "A pattern, huh? Shouldn't be too hard to figure out, then," she said. Patterns were easy, so she didn't have to worry. That smirk remained on her face, and she stayed where she was, making sure to look all around her in case another one of those blades came out at her. She couldn't attack if she couldn't see him and didn't know where he was, now could she?

Another laugh escapes Axel's mouth, "You dance well.." he says then suddenly a blade comes from behind, a split second later another follows from behind. "You think it will be easy, huh? Well then...I say we give you a time limit. For every four blades that pass you, I will move the wall of fire a yard closer in. See how well you do under a time limit." Another laugh escapes him and he mutters something, "I hope you know which direction is north.."

Cordelia ignored his comment about dancing, and just kept her attention and concentration on the flames and on the blades. She dodged the first on that came from behind, but the second one she barely got out of the way of. It ripped the cloth on her sleeve, grazing her skin. She bit the inside of her lip, and listened to his challenge. "Fine. That sounds fair to me," she said, and immediately regretted it.

IDIOT!!! Oh great, I'm gonna die here aren't I?! she thought to herself.

With her enhanced senses though, she heard what he had said about knowing which way was north. Luckily, she did, but she didn't know what that had to do with this little battle.

This time the first blade comes from in front of her. Before the next blade is thrown, the flames move in a yard closer to her, putting them a mere 4 yards away. This time the other blade comes from the east of her. "Tick Tock, Tick Tock, you got the pattern yet?" he asks, laughing as the words escape from his mouth.
