What is WRONG with me?!

To those who actually cared to look, it seemed that a young man was sitting at the docks. Of course, as always, this wasn't the case. The former mother and wife was just disguised as a guy, wearing rather baggy, black clothing, with chains on the pants. A hat hid her waist-length black hair underneath it, with a shadow cast over her face. Dark blue eyes were turned down to look at the waves as they crashed against the wood. Her legs were hanging over the dock so that her feet and the bottom of her pants were getting wet, but to be completely honest, Miss Cordelia Brooks did not care.

The vampire raised a hand and rubbed her forehead. What had been wrong with her lately? She'd been nice. She had been nice to that Mez kid, even though he was a male and she despised males. And of course, she had told Sonlath her entire life story because he had been in his wolf form and she didn't know he had one. Even if he was her little brother, she didn't want him knowing that much about her. She didn't mind being kind to the boy and to Jira, but other than them, it wasn't acceptable.

She was just mean to protect herself. And, well, if she got hurt again, she supposed it would only be her fault. She would just have to learn to be absolutely mean again... hard as that might be. But, she was sure she could do it.... hopefully.

A mirthless chuckle can be heard nearby as Axel walks down the peer to where the young woman sat, "Well..if this isn't the most interesting thing. A woman pretending to be a man. You people at this academy really do some of the most interesting things.." With a laugh he stops beside her and glances down at her feet in the water, "Not that I really care..but you do realize the if you continue leaving your feet in that water..you'll probably get frostbite or hypothermia..it is winter after all.." He sighs and shakes his head, "Anyways, now that we've established your a dike, mind if I ask what you're doing here and why you're trying to lose use of your legs? I'm dying to hear this one.." he says, a devilish smirk on his face.

"Well..if this isn't the most interesting thing. A woman pretending to be a man. You people at this academy really do some of the most interesting things.."

The vampire growled, and that laugh hadn't help her. Why did everyone here at this stupid academy see through her disguise?! HOW DID THEY DO IT?! Her bottom lip trembled in anger, and she turned to look at him. "Interesting or not, what I do is none of your business," she said. She had thought the question was coming, so it was best for him to get that answer now. "And I have my reasons for dressing like this, none of which would be your concern."

She looked the male over. Of course, yep, it always had to be a guy, a person she would automatically hate. Wonderful, just spectacular. Nothing better than that. She rolled her eyes and sighed out of frustration. When he mentioned hypothermia, it was the vampire's turn to laugh. "Oh, yes, why don't we just pretend such a thing will actually harm me!" she said. Whether it could or not she didn't know, but if she ended up losing one of her legs, she knew for a fact it would grow back. Amazingly, there were some rewards to being a vampire.

"As to why I'm here, I could ask you the same thing," the widow said. "But me, I'm just bored and haven't been here before. And if I lose use of my legs, ah well, I'll regain it in time." Fangs showed as she spoke. What Mez said may have been right, but, she really could care less if people knew, whether they could kill her or not.

Axel laughs at the fangs showing and flashing in his direction, "You see, if it were possible, that just might frighten me. However, I feel no threat from you anyways, so put those away and settle down.." He closes his eyes and crosses his arms quietly, his foot tapping gently on the peer, "You have peeked my interest, Vampires can regain the use of their legs, even when the nerves are frozen solid and your entire legs lack the ability to do anything?"

Cordelia rolled her eyes when he said to settle down, and that he didn't feel threatened. Ah, well, it had been fun to threaten him anyway. She smirked when he said she had interested him — or well, the vampiric qualities did. She shrugged her shoulders and nodded head. "That's exactly what I just said, isn't it?" she said. "At least, I'd believe it's true. I've never seen a vampire that can't use their legs. What a beautiful thing regeneration is.... besides, once a vampire is made, they can't change. At least that's the case with me." The woman's smirk widened a bit, just to show she liked taking advantage of her gifts. Inside, though, she really hated never changing.

Axel shakes his head, "What a waste of life on this planet..the entire point of a life is to grow in change, without that ability, you are just like an empty shell.." He sits down on the peer, then lays back with his hands behind his head, "Whatever..you never really answered my question. Why are you here and not hanging out with other people?" he asks her boredly, tossing his foot up and down across his knee.

"What a waste of life on this planet..the entire point of a life is to grow in change, without that ability, you are just like an empty shell.."

"I suppose you could say that," Cordelia said, agreeing with his statement on being an empty shell. She couldn't believe she was actually agreeing with a male, though. Her bottom lip twitched a bit in anger at herself, but she forced it to stop and quickly shook her head. "But in a way, I don't think one should consider vampires 'living', so I suppose we're not 'a waste of LIFE on this planet'. And besides, it's not like our minds stay the same as well; our minds grow and change." She shrugged her shoulders once again, not really caring.

She watched him as he laid down, an eyebrow raising somewhat, though doubting it could be seen. "I don't like to be around people," she answered simply. It was a the truth, really; the less people she was around, the less of a chance there was of her getting hurt. "And I figured there wouldn't be many people here. And you? You're here because....?" She couldn't remember if he had already said, though she didn't think she had. So what was the harm in asking?

Painter's eyes open and he furrows his brows in thought, "Hmm..I don't really know..it was mainly just the fact that I was bored and wandering around, then saw you sitting here by yourself with you legs in the frozen water. I thought you had a death wish that I could have taken care of for you, but instead I get the more interesting story of a gender confused vampire who has an ego big enough to dwarf the state of Texas.." He chuckles at his metaphor and closes his eyes again, the breeze blowing his wild hair around.

Cordelia rolled her eyes. "Well, aren't you kind, wanting to take care of other peoples supposed death wishes," she said. "Kids these days are so horrible... it's sickening." Sighing, she listened to what he called her, a smirk coming to her lips from amusement. A gender confused vampire with a big ego, hm? It would have made her laugh, but she wasn't one to laugh at much. However, since it had amused her, she decided not to insult him back. Besides, she hadn't known him long enough to really insult him... and then there was always the fact that she was getting softer.

She took her legs out of the water, and pulled her knees up to her chest. "I must admit, that little comparison of yours was... ah, nevermind." She shut her eyes tightly, not going to compliment it. She had to be mean, she had to be!! She didn't want to get nicer. The widow rubbed her forehead. "So do you carry out death wishes for every body, or was I just chosen out of the goodness of your heart?" she asked, really quite curious. Her voice was sarcastic when she reached the 'goodness of his heart' part.

A smirk plays across his face as he replies, "Do you honestly think your just special or something?" he asks her arrogantly, opening his eyes and staring at her like she's crazy. He shakes his head slowly at her, "I'm a cruel heartless turd, tough luck..if someone wants to die bad enough to be sitting out here trying to lose circulation in their legs, I figure I'd give them a nice slit of the throat and let them die quickly and almost painlessly. Then burn their bodies so no evidence is found.." he chuckles again, the thought of using his flames to get rid of evidence a splendid idea in his opinion.
