What in the world did he get me?!

Adelina didn't respond right away. She could feel tears coming up in her eyes, but she kept her eyelids closed tightly, not going to allow herself to cry. She hadn't cried in a long while, and she wasn't going to start again. She swallowed, feeling a lump in her throat, and looked out the window so he couldn't see her face. "Nothing," she managed to get out, though it was more than obvious something was wrong. "I'm fine, don't worry about me. Just drive."

Andrew frowned. He hated when Addie wouldn't tell him what was wrong. Not realizing that it was beause of the ambulance, when he saw the wreck, he pointed towards it. "That's why there was an ambulance." He said, trying to distract her from whatever the matter was.

Adelina immediately regretted looking to where the ambulance was. Tears instantly started falling from her eyes and she quickly looked away. She thought crying would make her look weak... and she didn't want Andrew to think that was what she was. She sniffed, quickly wiping her eyes and swallowing again, trying to stop crying. It was no use though.... the tears kept falling, and all those years of holding them back were about to come to the top.

Crying over an accident... you're such a stupid little girl.... grow up... she thought to herself.

Andrew stopped the truck, because he was getting distracted and he didn't want to have an accident. He put his hand on Addie's shoulder. "Addie, look at me." he said firmly, yet gently.

The seventeen-year-old blinked when he stopped the truck, and swallowed again when he told her to look at him. She slowly turned her head around to face him, ashamed that she was crying, especially in front of Andrew. Why couldn't she have broken down somewhere else when she was alone? Why? She sniffed, trying to stop herself from crying harder, but she knew she was about to since her shoulders were trembling.

"What?" she asked him, her voice more high-pitched than usual because of the tears.

Andrew cupped her cheek with his hand. "What's the matter?" He asked gently. At least now she couldn't say 'nothing'.

"Noth — " She stopped herself. She'd be lying if she said nothing, and she didn't want to lie. Not to Andrew. And if she said she was crying over nothing, then she'd probably just seem weaker. She swallowed, going silent for a few moments, trying to decide how she should tell him. She could either drag it out or just spill it... and spilling it would probably be easier and less painful.

"My parents died in a car accident when I was thirteen," she said quickly, her voice cracking a few times. She paused for a few moments, sobbing quietly and trying to calm herself at the same time. "Oct and I were in the car too."

Andrew nodded silently. He understood losing parents. After all, he'd lost both his when he was younger too. He hugged Addie tightly, not sure what to say.

Adelina allowed him to hug her, and returned it, holding him just as tightly. She burried her face into his shoulder, though her sobbing was easing up. She was just comforted by the fact that he was here, which was really all the comfort she had and needed at the moment. She thought she remembered Dani mentioning that their parents had died, but she didn't want to ask him if she was right and if so, what had happened. Not now.

"I love you," she told him.

Andrew realized that he had made her cry. "I love you too, Adds. And I'm sorry." He said gently, taking her hand.
