"Tadashi is our little brother," Celeste provided warmly and proudly as she eyed the bakeneko fondly.

"He is an amazing artist, Meena. You really should see some of his artwork," she explained with a smile.

Meena watched the cat shift into a young boy and regarded him thoughtfully. He was a polite young man, and that earned him points towards Meena's good regard. "Perhaps a little weird." Meena acquiesced with a small smile. "I take it you have not see the family gathered together like this before? The Del Bosques are a formidable family with many branches." With time he will come to understand it's intricacies.

"Though I would technically be your sister, you may call me aunt or auntie if that is preferable. Whichever you would feel comfortable addressing me as." Meena said kindly. This party will have enough awkward moments, perhaps she can address some of that now.

Celeste spoke up, and mentioned the boy's art. "Yes, I would love to. And perhaps you shall find time to tell me about your magical abilities." Meena could tell he was quite magical and curiosity burned within her.

Tadashi tugged at the cuffs of his gloves in embarrassment at all the praise. "I've met a lot of the family, just... being part of a large family feels weird to me still. I would rather call you by your name though. I already have two sisters and they're important to me." He explained himself in a friendly tone but it was slightly stilted, like he was afraid someone might take offense to that but proceeded anyways.

"I can show you some of my drawings sometime. But i'm not supposed to get too dirty until after we eat." His gloves were still technically stained from repeated work with pencils and charcoal but they were as clean as he could get them at the moment.

Not wanting to keep the spotlight on how 'magical' he was, he turned and smiled again at Iesha. Deliberately pausing to greet her too. "Hi Iesha, it's good to see you again." Then he shielded his mouth with one gloved hand, though it was kind of a stage whisper really, "Just let me know if you want the scoop on where the best hiding spots are here."

"O-oh thank you Missss Meena... I-I-I mean aunt M-m-meena." stuttered Iesha as they corrected themselves.

Iesha seemed to warm up as Meena gave her permission to call her aunt and was glad that she didn't scare her off her anything. Of course she was so concern about Meena and she hadn't noticed Tadashi until they were call out and looked to him with reptilian eyes slowly blinking. She listen to the conversation and then gave the bakeneko a smile when offered hiding spots.

"H-hey Tadashi... g-g-good to sssee you again~" Iesha then cupped her hand around her mouth and whispered back "T-thank you... m-maybe you can ssshow me some now? J-just in case I e-ever just... n-need a b-break from p-people."

Azure was not quite on time to the family gathering. He managed to slip into the del Bosque home quietly as he often did. He noted Tadashi and Iesha's presence, as well as Celeste's. The rabbit person was unfamiliar however. A rabbit person? The wolf boy couldn't say he was all that surprised to see one on the island. However, he wasn't expecting one to be a guest at the gathering. He opted to move to Celeste's side, she was the most familiar person present afterall.

"I'm here now," he said to Celeste, he hadn't taken his eyes off the new person. Though everyone there probably felt the vaguest feeling of eyes on them. He was curious, but opted to wait for an introduction before making an approach.

"Oh, hello! You are here!" Celeste gushed happily when Azure appeared at her side. Normally, she might have given the wolf boy a hug, but when standing side by side, Azure was significantly taller then she was.

"Meena, I'd like to introduce you to Azure. He's, well, I like to think of him as my son," she admitted as she looked at the teen with real affection.

"And Azure, this is Filomena, my sister," she explained, introducing Meena, a tinge of pride in her voice as she did so.

Tadashi smiled at Iesha and nodded. "Sure. Would you rather plants or books for your choice of spots?" He was fairly certain either way he could find somewhere she would like. But before he could do anything further Azure had showed up. The unsettling feeling of being watched wasn't great but he had nothing against Azure aside from cats not being huge fans of wolves.

He waved but didn't want to interrupt all the greetings going on between the others.

"By name is just as fine." Meena assured Tadashi while making a mental note of the mentioned sisters.

Unlike the children, she's had plenty of practice navigating the large and often complicated web of the Del Bosque family, and knew all too well the confusion her curse added. "Some other time then," Meena added. Then, she turned to smile softly at Iesha, hoping it might quell some of her nerves. Filomena's keen ears picked up on the whispers of hiding places, but her face gave nothing away. She couldn't blame them for seeking solitude. She, herself, wished for a quiet, secretive place away from the party. She did not deserve the attention and love, but Meena could not bear to break her family's heart again.

Then another of the adopted children arrived and Meena had to paw at her calming crystal to keep herself in place. Azure, as he was introduced, put her nerves on edge. Her rabbit instincts warned: predator. And though she saw one boy watching her, it felt like there were more unseen eyes, watching and waiting beyond her given sight.

Celeste gave introductions and Meena craned her neck to greet the young man. "Hello, Azure, it is nice to meet you. Are you gifted with magic as well?" She asked, thinking he had some kind of spell up. Though, as far as she could tell there is no magic upon or within him.

So this was actually Celeste's sister. Something must have happened to her. It seemed like members of the family were fairly prone to mishaps and the like. Or maybe these sorts of things were just occupational hazards. It would be rude to just ask, and besides she was family. He'd simply accept it.

"Well... I'm a wolf, but not like most of the wolves I've met around here. I'm attuned with the phases of the moon, and wind," he explained. Azure probably sounded more awkward than he'd intended to. He was a fairly quiet kid and not overly fond of big social gatherings as they tended to get too noisy over time.

"It's nice to meet you," he added after a brief pause.

Kalvin doesn't know how appropriate his outfit was. Rafael said it was a welcoming party for his daughter, and it was scheduled at a time in the day that didn't demand formal wear. So, Kalvin figured he'd show up in a more relaxed yet still semi-formal outfit. He had pulled on a black-and-blue-striped dress shirt over dark jeans and his Timberland boots. He had debated over doing something with his hair. However, he decided against it at the last minute and just styled it the way he usually did--which meant brushing it with his hands at best, product-free.

When Kalvin reached the main room where everyone seemed to be gathering, he politely cleared his throat and waited for someone to acknowledge him. He held up the paper bag that carried the wine bottle that he brought over as a gift to the family or the celebrant; it depended on the latter's age and/or preferences. He may have been unsure about his clothes, but he was sure that wine was always a courteous gift choice for house-held gatherings. "Hi," he said to the gathered crowd, feeling the back of his neck itch at being the recipient of many gazes from all sorts of creatures. His mind idly wondered if they were all related or many were guests like him. Wouldn't it be awkward and weird if he was the only outsider here?

With confidence he gained from stepping inside the cage, Kal moved towards the woman who seemed to be in the middle of the crowd. "I wasn't sure if the occasion called for it, but I brought a gift," he said, offering the bag to her. When she took the bag, he offered his right hand for a handshake. He kept the arm with the missing hand to his side. "I'm Kalvin. I work for your father."
