Private Welcoming Meena Home

Rafael del Bosque's home had not seen this much activity since the immediate family had moved to Manta Carlos to reestablish the company's headquarters on the island. The comings and goings of caters, party planners, and cleaners - literal and of the magical variety - had been non-stop for about a full week before the party. Rafael wanted everything to be as perfect as possible to welcome his long lost daughter home and back into the family.

On the evening of the party, his other daughter, Celeste had arrived a few hours early. She was eager to help set up the food tables so that she could add to each table a few childhood favorites that Meena, Azucena, and herself liked to share (or sneak off with, much to the cook's despair) when the three of them got together during the holidays or during the summer months.

"Is everything ready?"Rafael asked as he came up behind Celeste, smiling almost instantly when he noticed her belly, and that she was starting to show. Another grandchild, and the return of his beloved daughter...he felt very blessed by Cerdwynn and Eostre. What more could he ask for? Love, family, and new life were blossoming around the long-lived druid and he felt that he could not be happier than now.

"Aall-most," Celeste said in a concentrated sing-songy tone as she put out the last of many plates of delicious homemade treats full of treats like shortbread, almond tarts, fudge and phyllo inspired desserts like Migulitos and Mille Feuille. All of them she had baked in anticipation of her sister's welcome home party.

"Aand ... there. All done. Now we are ready, to get this party started" Celeste declared cheerfully as she placed an extra stack of fancy napkins next to the dessert plates. "

"Wonderful. I'll go and open the patio doors, so people can go out to the garden if they want to," Rafael said as he gestured for the small musical trio to start playing as the rest of his family and friends slowly began to arrive.

Celeste smiled when she heard Iesha's voice and turned towards her daughter, happy to see her. "Hello sweetheart," she said as she gave the lamia a quick, but warm and welcoming hug.

"You look great in that dress. Purple is definitely your color," she added as she pulled away and regarded her daughter warmly, taking a moment to focus her attention fully on Iesha.

"Yes, my sister is ... well, it's great that she's back," Celeste started, not sure how to even begin. It had always the three of them every summer and the girls had been inseparable at times ... especially during family get-togethers.

"Don't worry, it's mostly family," she told Iesha reassuringly, very aware she wasn't great with huge crowds. "There's us, Zora, and her boyfriend, Jeremiah, Tadashi, possibly some Drakenhardts, Mr. Felen was also invited, and maybe one or two other people from the office," she explained, referring to DB Holdings.

"I am sure that both of them will be more than fine if you refer to them as your aunts," Celeste said as she appeased her daughter's worries.

Just as Celeste was about to go on, she spied her sister making their way towards them... "Meena! Over here," she gushed effusively, her French accent more apparent, happy to see her sister again.

"Iesha, honey, this is my sister, your aunt, Filomena," she stated enthusiastically.

"And thank you," Celeste beamed when Meena complimented her work on the party. "I was hoping you'd like it. I even made some of your favorites, hopefully, they are still your favorites," she said with a warm smile.
