Baste's reaction had pretty much been his reaction when he'd first shown up. He was still a bit nervous at the idea of eating human meat, and he sure as hell wasn't going to try it, but it no longer bothered him the way it once had.

He didn't know what a machine tornador was, but context clues told him 'motorbike, or something like it'. He could imagine, but he didn't... well, didn't relate.

"We've got a lot of seashore, so that's always an option for you. Lots of wide open spaces, and you can coast through the east side of the island--where all the farms are--for ages. Not a lot of cars."

Kon caught that look on Baset's face and gave her a small smile that said, "Yeah I found it weird too." If there was anything he could do for her, it was empathizing with how much of a shock to see how normal cannibalism was here. He wished he knew more people who were able to understand how weird that was to me when he first came to Manta Carlos.

"I'm interested in hearing about your Machine Tornado, but first, where to next? Not sure how much of the school you've seen. Don't want to lead you to places you're already familiar with, yeah?"

"Mmhmm, I've been at the rural area, there's a really good plain field there where I was able to race up a little with no worries.", but wasn't long until she had to explain a little, if so thanks to Kon really, "Ah, Machine Tornador is the motorcycle of the tokusatsu hero Kamen Rider Agito, but mine is just a Honda with cosmetic modifications to look like the real one. Managed to get my license within weeks after turning 16."

At least now they knew her age... But where to next? "Honestly, didn't see much of the inside of the academy. Maybe we could check out gymnasium, usually it is the hottest place in every school I have been to up to now.", and of course, any warmth is a welcome warmth, which reminded her to take another gulp of her large cup.

Sixteen, then. Or seventeen? But probably sixteen, even if they were so tall. He was still grappling with that a bit. That he had to look over and then immediately look up every single time, because he wasn't used to someone towering over him so much.

"The gym then," he said, gesturing down the hallway. "And the power training rooms. They're side by side. Most people have power classes, although they're not really mandatory. Teachers will help you understand how your powers work, get things under control, all that."

Ah, Kamen Rider. Pop culture he felt he should have been intimately familiar with. As the colors of his entire body lowering in saturation, he wore the cheerful smile of someone not self-conscious of their ignorance. "Ah, Kamen Rider. I've heard some stuff about the series, but never got into it. That reference just went whoosh." He threw his hand over his head before laughing.

"And you got that right. As a regular there, I can confirm that the gymnasium is pretty warm," he continued, following Angelo's gesture and heading down the hallway. "I'm also taking power classes for shape-shifting. If you're curious about what it's like, I'm open to answering any and all questions."

"Oh? More of a fan of the other Saturday morning shows, I suppose, Kon?", Basté wouldn't hold that against him, there were shows for both boys and girls, and even adult men and women watched them, some as religious fans while others were just at the living room with their children. Wasn't that uncommon even.

Hearing that the gym was indeed warmer has put a smug on her face, as she called it before seeing. Though the thing about Power Training... "I didn't power train myself, discovered my abilities on the prowl while hunting demons and evil beings. But don't go thinking I'm like a holy knight or something, I'm more than eager to help a vampire over a human if the vampire is a good person, or spar with an Oni who doesn't cause troubles! And I might have to wind up looking for a license if eventually I'll be required to act in this island, although I don't think I'll need to act anytime soon.", so she knew her own abilities, eh? Considering her age and origins, might be of little surprise.

Angelo actually faltered mid-step before catching himself. While on the prowl? Hunting demons and evil beings? His brain all of a sudden had more red flags then the Chinese navy, and it took a moment to recover himself.

"You'll want to be careful with stuff like that," Angelo said after a moment's pause. "Saying 'demons and evil beings' and that you hunted them would be... contentious. There's a lot of demons on the island, and there's also a larger awareness of discrimination against demons. There was some trouble a while back with anti-demon sentiment."

He was, of course, thinking of Xavier - of him dumping a bucket of holy water on a demon in what was absolutely a hate crime.

"I'm guessing you're thinking of a... demon hunting license? We definitely don't have those here." So, easier said than done, and Angelo definitely looked a bit on edge as he headed towards the gym.

Kon responded to Bastet with a brusque, "I'm more of a reader. I prefer novels." Usually he was pretty open about how his life was before, but he frequently found himself cringing at all that he missed. There was so much to catch up on, both in modern pop culture and past.

Fortunately, or not-so-fortunately for everyone else, Angelo pointed out another thing they could talk about. "Yeah, the police here are great at handling any trouble! Crime here is more low-key anyhow. Why suddenly rob or attack someone who might have the power to teleport you to the other side of the island instantly? More than likely, you'll have more battles with homework than any 'evil-doers.'"

With a nod, she agreed to Angelo. "I feel for them... To struggle against discrimination, specially those that did nothing wrong. Never had to be discriminated myself, but I can put myself in their position.", but considering what they talked this also meant... "I can rest easy then. Maybe I should look into getting acquainted with some demon denizen then, to see what they are like! I'd need some pointers though..."

Battles with homework? A shiver crept up her spine and Basté took another gulp of hot chocolate. Her homework in Japanese schools took a lot of her time ever since she was little, even with her compressed sleep schedule she still had trouble having fun, which is how she wound up watching Tokusatsu and the like. "I haven't touched a single homework in a while. Better hope they aren't as massive as the ones I had to deal with back in Japan. (Ten pages worth of math problems! No, thank you!)"

Thankfully, they'd taken it better than he'd thought, and Angelo let out a breath he hadn't known he'd been holding. He'd been worried about how they'd react. If they'd do the once a demon, always a demon or something like that. Baste wouldn't be the first person on the island to arrive with a background of hunting the very creatures they were now surrounded by...

"The Demonic Student Union has pamphlets, if you want one. They might help cover some of the basic questions you might have about life on the island." Things like how some demons feed tended to come up a lot, and he was absolutely not a demon expert who should be answering those kinds of questions.

"So," he said, stopping and gesturing to a door. "That's the gym. You'll honestly use it most in connection to power training classes, since we don't have a traditional PE class in highschool. Power training rooms are over there..." He gestured down the hall. "And have a bunch of supplies and things. They're set up for... pretty much anything, I'd say."
