Her grip on his hand was firm, as a biker she had to know how to hold well as to not slip off. "Ah, Angelo, it's a pleasure to meet you. But yes, Bastet. Although Basté is how my father pronounced the name of his kind's Goddess of Protection.", this was bound to be a fortunate tour.

"More because where I lived there were a lot of bakeneko really, about one every twenty residences.", that should sum up her reason for curiosity, right? "But yes, let's start the tour, please.", Bastet could feel a change in the temperature... It was going lower. Perhaps it is best to let them know? Yes... "Just a little thing I forgot to tell, but is very important: I'm cold-blooded.", there, she said it.

"So if I look somewhat lethargic or start yawning, please guide me somewhere warm or help me to some coffee.", and a light blush to indicate how embarrassed she was of that weakness of her.

Angelo had a lot of questions, but Kon was right - they were questions that could wait. They were there for a tour, and if they didn't get it going...

Well, they'd probably stand around all day.

"Why don't we show you the cafeteria then? It's one of the warmer parts of the building. They normally have like..." He always got coffee, so it took a moment for him to think of what other warm drinks they might have. "Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate standing by. We can get you something and keep going from there." He gestured down the hallway, letting Kon take the lead as they spoke.

Kon happily took the lead. What horrible tour guides would let someone pass out because all they wanted to do was talk? This was supposed to be a fun introduction to a crazy high school life!

"There's also sandwiches, soups, vegetables, you get the idea. All kinds of warm food. They have to cater a lot of diets. Some you might not have thought existed." Though it sounded like Baset was familiar with the supernatural. There might be no need to explain weird diets to her. "So don't worry about them not having something you'll like."

With a nod she agreed with how they should start the tour. If Bastet could keep herself warm for long enough, then the tour will need no breaks unless her guides chose to. "I favor anything hot, although on sunny summer days I may go for something cold. Just to regulate my temperature.", as she followed them the explained further about herself, opening up without hesitation. After all, why hesitate when everyone is more than human, just like her?

"Although my preferred drink is a Tomato-Apple Juice. It's a good balance between what makes me sober and what makes me drunk. Don't try to think much on how that works, it is a strange quirk my father had and found out when he was 14 and ate apple pie for the first time, resulting in his big brother panicking for a second before realizing what was going on!", with a brief laugh, she remembered how amusing that was to think of.

That was definitely a weird one. Tomato-apple juice? "Might be better to avoid that," Angelo said after a moment. "Or someone might think you're trying to get drunk."

Were they even old enough to get drunk? Well, maybe, but getting drunk on school property was a whole other ball of wax. One he didn't want to touch.

"Assuming you're living in the dorms, which most people do, food's basically free from the cafeteria. You just show your ID, and you can have what you want."

It was hard for Kon to tell Bastet's age. She was just so tall. At this point, he learned to stop trying to guess people's ages. For all he knew, she could be a hundred-years-old with the mind of a twelve-year-old and the body of a seventeen-year-old. Better to just ask.

"Yeah, if I remember correctly, even if a drink that makes you drunk isn't alcohol, it's still treated like it. So you'd have to be eighteen to drink tomato-apple juice. Er, unless you're doing it on private property with your guardian watching you." He remembered reading up on this, but he always found himself having difficulting summarizing things into a neat explanation.

"More accurately, the tomato prevents the effects from the apple. Plus my mother forbid me of consuming anything apple-based without a side of tomatoes, and I obeyed her. And because she is a prosecutor you can only imagine what a pressure it is. That and the first and only experience of me getting drunk was terrible.", her face had "hangover sucks" all over it, "That aside... Tomato juice is also great with different fruits! So it's not like I will ever run out of choice. And no, I'm not a vampire."

That reference to how some vampires cope with the need to drink blood by using tomato juice instead was a bit out of the blue, but she herself wondered how true that is: "Although now I wonder if Vampires mingling with humans do drink tomato juice.", a brief frown on her face. "Hm, but yes, I'll be staying at the dorms. My sleep is however short, so don't be surprised to know I'm up late and still waking up early."

A prosecutor? Angelo felt a stab of envy that he quickly put down. How... normal. He let himself distract himself with the vampire conversation, something he could talk about at length thanks to his girlfriend.

"Generally no," Angelo said. "I mean, the ones who can eat human food will probably eat it as much as any human does, but no, not really. They'll just drink blood. On the island it's considered pretty normal, so no one bats an eye at someone sipping on blood. Plus, you need to keep it cool so it doesn't coagulate, so most of the time it's in a proper flask, and you can't see it." Alma had a few of those, and he saw them pretty often.

Was it appropriate to fist-bump someone he was giving a tour to? He gestured towards the drink section as he slipped into the cafeteria, letting them get what they wanted, and then continued.

"The school runs 24 hours, because there's a lot of nocturnal people. You'll see people walking around at all hours, so don't be bothered if you don't sleep a full 8-to-10. I actually don't sleep at all, so I take night classes. If you see me at all, it'll be in the early hours of the morning when I'm here for class." Of all the student council, he was probably one of the least visible on campus thanks to that.

"Oh, handy tip: If a meal says 'human', it doesn't mean the food is for humans." Not many students made that mistake, but always better to point it out, wasn't it?

Kon nodded liked he definitely understood how apple got people drunk and how tomato cancels that effect. Species could be weird here. He needed to get over it and just move on. That is, until his face broke into a confused smile when she mentioned tomatoes and vampires. Was that a stereotype? Angelo responded like it wasn't weird, so it must have been a thing Kon was just learning about.

"I also don't need to sleep, but I take day classes. Don't be surprised if you see me outside studying once in a while. Or napping. Usually I'm napping," he said with a snicker. "But I keep myself busy with school activities and friends during my free time. Not needing to sleep isn't as boring as it sounds."

So, the Tomato Juice for Vampires was a myth? At least it seemed they didn't need to concern much about that, seeing how well the academy was prepared for so many, and the mention of "human" meal disturbed Basté a little, only enough to warrant a wide eyed glance at Angelo and a brief "Ok." that was quite too casual even.

But at least now she had yet another large cup of something hot, this time chocolate. "Naps are good... I often had mine during recess and woke up in time for the next class, and on slow days it was a string of minutes-long naps. Among those in my family and even at my old school, I was the only one to have such a routine, but helped to get good grades.", Basté's "sleepless" nights were often full of her training and studies.

"Otherwise I really like taking my Machine Tornador for a ride, nothing beats the seaside breeze on a warm day and the feeling of being free and wild.", with a joyful sigh she thought of the times spent by riding along the coast in Japan.
