"But you're not actually?' She asked, picking up on the silence around what he was saying. Seeing he wasn't going to run away, Shay sat down beside him, not close enough to touch. "How old are you really, then?" Go figure, the only other intelligent child wasn't a child at all, though he sure had the maturity of one.

He shrugged. "I... Two I think... Well, almost. The first thing I remember is meeting this guy named Laetus about two years ago... So I think I'm two."
He nodded after this statement, as if he had just thought this out for the first time.

Maybe Shay had spoken too soon when she thought he was intelligent. "You are not two. How can you not remember how old you are?" Why had Shay met another boy who didn't know how old he was? Was it really that difficult?

"Do you have parents?" It seemed a good second question to have. This boy was weird, but at least, he kept things interesting. Shay was struggling about whether she enjoyed his company or not.

Kenta shook his head. "Not that I know of... Unless Laetus counts. Hes... more of a big brother though really." He thought for a moment or two more on the subject before speaking again.
"If I'm not two, how old am I?"

"How am I suppose to know? At best I can guess you're around my age, but that could just be glamour." Eroshay was giving him one of those one eyebrow slightly raised looks. "If you x-ray your arm, there are these rings inside that can teach you how old you are. Like a tree trunk... But I don't know if that's true for all creatures. I think it's just for humans."

Kenta tilted his head in confusion. "Just... Glamour?" He repeated. "Rings in your arm..." He thought for a bit, then shrugged. "I don't think I'm human, so that probably wouldn't work... Any other way to know?" He asked, his five silver tails swaying back and forth behind him.

Shay's attention was caught by those tails as they swayed. She pointed to them, face set somberly. "Those. Maybe this Laetus guy would know? I'm not the best person to discuss all this with. I don't know anything about you. I don't even know your name. Are you even a boy?" [/parsehtml[

"Um... I introduced myself earlier. Kenta T. Kitsune is my name. Atleast, thats what Lae called me. The 'T' stands for 'the' " He explained with a weak laugh. Laetus gave him the name, but Kenta didn't think it was all that clever.
"And... Yes? I don't know what makes humans have genders, but I feel like I'm a boy... Oh, and Lae is definitely not the person to ask. He knows about as much about me as I do." He seemed a bit bothered by his lack of answers. "So... I've got nothing to go on. I'm eleven or two or maybe a million, probably a boy and..." She had pointed out his tails before... Why? "I... have tails? ... Thats it. That's all I know.."

"Doesn't a kitsune's age have something to do with their tails?" Shay asked, her irritation only growing, more because she had forgotten he'd given her his name. She couldn't remember when, but then this whole thing had been a weird blur to her.

Kenta shrugged. "I have no idea... Makes as much sense as humans having rings in their arms though... So I'm... Five? But... I didn't grow a new tail last year. I'm pretty sure I've always had five... I think..."
