Vlad was more than worried.. She had stopped going to school to teach.. Having sent a raven to her students alerting them that she was not feeling well. The house was clean.. Too clean in fact. All the human meat from the fridge was tossed out. There were slowly healing wounds on Vlads fingers and knuckles. She would never admit it.. But, she scrubbed until her fingers bled.. And then scrubbed up the mess.
The bed was made and looked unused for that matter. Not a single thing was out of place. Vlad had counted six days. Since she saw or heard from Lochlann. Six days that she hardly ate and barely slept. Fear grasped at her heart and tears felt as if they were constantly falling from her eyes. There was no consoling her. Not that anyone bothered. Everything made her stomach roll and she knew that her child was becoming horrifically moody with the strain on its mothers body.
'Its like you lost Malkar all over again. Who'd of thought that scar would ever fade. It will be alright I am sure Vlad. Perhaps you should try and sleep?'
Nixis asked softly, his words stung and he knew he hurt her by the fresh tears that rolled down her cheeks. He secretly loved it. If he was physically outside of the body.. He would lick up her tears and purr. He was addicted and her misery was his drug. It gave him a high that he had trouble living without. It is why he stayed and did his best to play it smooth. A careful word here and there allowed him to bring her the worst pain. It aroused him so much.
"Malkar died and it was my fault... Lo-Lochlann.. I dont know what happened to h-h-him."
One tear. And then another. And then.. A sob. Sitting down Vlads body was weary as her hands went to her face and sobs wracked her thinning frame. The little that she managed to get down only came back up.. Providing very little sustenance. Her body was withering to allow her child to continue. With the demons higher calorie need she was in dangerous need of a good meal.
Nixis was needless to say excited about this entire thing. When Vlad died her soul was his.. If he killed her infant too then its two for the price of one.. But Vlad.. She would be his trophy. She would deserve it for all the times she ignored him when he was physical.
