"Of course," Rory said without hesitation. "I... Wel I can't do it here like I could back home, but if I were home? I'd choose superheroing every day. "

"Oh," He said quietly. Jaxon didn't realise she was actually unable to help others like she did before. He had only thought that she was abandoning the role. "I'm... sorry."

He had an idea. "If you dont mind, can you help me with being a superhero? I'm still new at it, and really could use mentorship."

Well, Rory knew that was sure to get her into some shit later down the road. But it was better than letting this kid do everything on his own. Might it wasn't exactly right, but Rory had never been squeaky clean.

She nodded slowly as if taking that question in. "Uh, I mean sure. Did you have questions?"

"W-Well, uh," Jaxon hadnt expected her to say yes, and thus he didn't actually have any follow up questions.

Racking his brains for a moment, he finally thought of one it wasn't quite related to being a hero, but it should suffice. "Would there be a situation where you would freely tell people you know your identity?"

Rory laughed awkwardly. "Uh, well I told my entire team my full identity after a few months of working with them. We all knew each others. Otherwise..." And Rory winced a little here. "I did show my face to a villain once to save my friends and get her to work with me. Never gave my name, though.

"Back in my world, we had this big rule about not messing with people's homes or families, so it was less dangerous than it would be here, didn't make it smart though."

"Wow," He blinked in suprise. "Your world really had everything set out for Superheros. Wha that and official rule, or just something everyone knew and just never talked about?" Jaxon was still floating, but instead of leaning back, he had instead manuevered himself into something akin to a sitting position, making himself look rather zen.

"What about costumes?" He had to ask. "Yours seems well made. Did you make it yourself?

"It was more or less official. If you messed with someone at home everyone — villains and heroes — worked together to kill you." Rory flinched. Yeah. Dammit. She didn't want to think about that one too fucking hard.

"Costumes. Right. Yes. Most people wore those. It meant technically law enforcement didn't need our parents' consent, among other things. I didn't make mine. It was made by, uh, someone. The government, after I started working with the New Sentinal."

Woah. A Hero-Villain team up just because you attacked family? That explained why she didn't immedietely tell him not to remain a hero. "I guess it worked well?"

He looked down at what he was wearing. Dark clothing, a Mask, and a leather jacket. "Yeah, I made my own, if you can tell. Not really anything yet, just stuff I threw together." Looking back up at her, Jaxon nodded. "Someday soon, I'll make a real super suit."

Rory hummed. The answer clearly was no, even if she wasn't going to say it.

Rory was glad when they moved onto Jaxon's costume. She did look it over and quirked a smile at how excited he seemed about his first hero suit. She remembered that feeling, but God had her first suit been ridiculous. And impractical. And then she'd gotten serious.

"Yeah. I wish I knew someone to direct you too, but this place is entirely new to me. We used to know a guy back in the home dimension who made amazing suits, provided you paid well. Er, he was kind of a villain though. Technically."

It seemed it did not work well. She didn't seem to want to say it, but from the lack of response, it must not have been a good experience.

"Oh, I wish I knew a tailor too. Hopefully one that wouldn't rat me out to the police." If he made a good super suit, Jaxon wouldn't mind if they were a villain, either. "What do you mean by technically though?"
