A true warrior. Havoc didn't really like the idea, simply because he associated the word warrior with someone swinging a sword and a shield. Well, that or someone who puffed themselves up to be something grander than a soldier.

Havoc suspected that his opinion on what a ranger was did not quite line up with what others might think of as a ranger, so he opted to try and be as to the point as possible.

"The Army Rangers are a type of light infantry that is a part of the United States army. We provide special operations, and could be considered special forces, depending on your definition of the term. It might be arrogant for me to describe it as such, considering that I'm a part of the group, but Army Rangers are generally considered the elite of the army."

The entire explanation was delivered in a flat monotone, without any obvious sense of pride. It was simply true to him. More or less every part of what he said was the sort of thing that would show up on wikipedia if you bothered to look them up, without any sort of embellishment.

"I wouldn't say you were prying too much," Havoc said, although he was a very poor judge. While he was excellent at keeping secrets, he didn't consider any part of his non-confidential personal history to be a secret. "My power is the creation and manipulation of fire, but it easily goes out of control. This creates the potential for friendly fire, so I need to learn to control it fully before I can return to active duty."

War just sat and listened as his companion without interrupting, taking in every word of it. While this was happening though the atmosphere in the building was starting to get very tense. It had nothing to do with the conversation though, as War was actually enjoying himself, but just the fact that this is what happens when War stays in one place for too long.

"Ah yes," he said once Havoc was done talking. "Fire is one of the more chaotic forces in the universe and it can take a while for someone to master it. Though I guess any sort of power thrust upon an unsuspecting individual would take some time to get used to."

War paused for a moment as he thought back to his first taste of power.

"I myself almost lost control once." He said. "When I was first chosen, you see I used to be mortal once as well."

War picked up his drink and took a large gulp from it.

"The old War had died, not an easy feat for someone to accomplish I might add, and they chose me as his replacement." War's eyes kind of stared off into the distance as he spoke. "When I first got a taste of this godly power I almost went mad, started a war that almost destroyed not one but two civilizations."

He picked up his drink and finished it off, setting down the empty glass and some cash. Looking around the bar War could see that everything was balancing on a knife's edge. Everyone in the room seemed to be ready to throw a fist or a beer bottle, everyone except Havoc though. This was something that he had to make note of.

"I think it is time I stepped outside for some air before things reach their boiling point in here." War stood up and looked at Havoc. "You are free to join me if you wish."

With that he turned towards the exit and headed out, the sound of battle following his every foot step.

The revelation that a god--even a god from a different universe-- was once mortal was an interesting one, and Havoc tipped his head slightly to the side, listening intently. The aura was starting to affect him, although not quite the way that it would others. Havoc was about as aggressive as a rock, but the gentle agitation was really just showing itself by making him dial up the hypervigilance.

He was already vigilant anyway though, so it was sort of hard to tell.

"That seems less like losing control, and more like going mad with power," Havoc pointed out.

Probably not the most respectful thing to say to a god, but Havoc was nothing if not to the point. He wasn't going to beat around the bush, and it was intended as a genuine clarification. Maybe he was wrong. Maybe being war meant if you lost control, you just started wars.

It made as much sense as anything else on the island.

Havoc had come to see War, so when offered, he slid back from the bar, fishing out his wallet and paying for his own half-drunk beer before heading out after War.

"Do you always have... sound effects?" Havoc asked, wondering if he was the only one hearing that. He wasn't stupid enough to think that there was a battle happening nearby, but he wasn't sure if it was just him.

War looked over to Havoc and laughed, nodding his head to the man.

"I guess you could say that!" He smiled as he spoke, shrugging his shoulders slightly. "One of the things that came with the job I guess, where ever I go the sound of battle follows me. It is apparently different to each person who hears it."

This had been confirmed to him a long time ago as he once asked a room full of people what they had heard when he had entered and each response was varied, and not just slightly. Each person had a very unique answer to the question.

"That and the whole aggression aura which you probably had noticed." War nodded his head back to the bar's entrance. "That affects everyone the same, well usually."

At this last bit War's eyes seem to take in Havoc in a new light, he had noticed that the man was much more clam then the rest of the room had been. Had the aura touched the man? Probably, but if it had then the results were much more subdued then normal.

"It seems it doesn't seem to bother you as much as it does others." He seemed to scratch his chin as if pondering something. "How is that?"

Havoc regarded War with his usual apathy at the mention of the aggression aura. Having been told about it, it was easy enough to break down his (rather shallow) emotions and determine what was happening. That was why he felt more on edge, like his instincts were telling him someone was going to attack.

Others might have beat around the bush when asked, but Havoc had never felt the need to hide what he was, and he certainly didn't on the island. People didn't care. Not really.

"I'm emotionally stunted," he said simply. "It seems your aura makes me more vigilant and prepared, but I'm not naturally capable of aggression, and so it doesn't affect me in that way."

Havoc knew what aggression was only in terms of how other people reacted to it. He'd never felt it, and he likely wouldn't recognize it even if it did affect him.

War thought about this for a moment before he shrugged it off. It was a simple enough explanation and the man seemed like an honest and trustworthy fellow so War had no reason to doubt his word on the matter.

"Well whatever the reason is is nice to finally have a conversation last more then five minutes without a bar brawl breaking out." There was a twinkle in the god's eye as he said the next part' "Though nothing wrong with a good bar fight now and then."

War just seemed to smile about it a bit, as if remembering things long past before giving his head a bit of a shake.

"But those are stories for another time." He said as he looked over to Havoc. "If you want to hear them then come and find me. As I said I enjoy the prospect of having someone I can converse with with an extended amount of time without the scenery getting smashed up."

Straightening up War made a show of dusting himself off before nodding at Havoc.

"I sadly have to go, it was a pleasure meeting with you and hopefully it is not the last time." And with that War took a stroll down the streets of the city.

Havoc certainly wasn't the kind of guy who was going to lie. He could keep secrets, and he could keep his mouth shut, but he wasn't going to lie.

"You're easy to find," Havoc pointed out. He hadn't spent much time at all. War was like a man on a warpath, his presence immediately obvious and recognizable. Even people who didn't know what he was would still hvae recognized the sounds of battle.

Havoc gave a small nod to War as he dusted himself off, making it obvious they were going to part ways.

"Thank you for your time. It has been interesting," Havoc said, hoping that he'd meet War again before long.
