They had walked all the way to this part of the city, it wasn't bad. But it had taken some time to walk from where Shiariel and Barakiel were living. With Soren out of the house it did feel a little empty but it also didn't like they were all trying to squish into the same living space meant for a couple and their kid. With Shiariel and Barakiel not being a couple that had brought up some awkward moments sometimes.

But this was not one of those times. Both she and Barakiel were dressed nicely as Bara had asked her out to eat. He said as a way to repay her for all her kindness and helpfullness for him. Though when Shiariel looked up at the sign for the resuraunt that Barakiel was taking her to she felt a little... under-dressed. This was reported as a very nice and very romantic place to eat as a couple or in group dates. And here Shiariel was in a simple black one piece black dress, it wasn't her best dress and she was starting to regret that here.

Barakiel was wearing his normal suit items that she had ironed for him because he still didn't have much in the terms of clothing variety. Being a man however, and with how his appearance was, he had some leeway. Shiariel not so much, lots of attention was put on a woman in a nice dress. Mainly by other women in nice dresses and to stand out by under-dressing was usually bad. "Um... Barakiel, are you sure this was the right place? Isn't this a little..." Shia didn't think he'd understand the romantic part of this whole thing. "...over priced and fancy? I feel like I should have worn some nicer clothing."

He had decided a while ago that he needed to do something nice for his host, his former employee if you will. She had taken him in, given him a place to stay, as well as helping him to navigate the current way of the world since it was all so foreign to him now. He had went out and asked around and the main theme seemed to be to take her to dinner.

He looked over at Shiariel though when she asked about the resturant.

“I am unaware of what you are talking about,” he started to say in reply to her query, “This was simply the place that most people recommended.”

He said this in that matter of fact tone that he usually said all things in even if it was simply the fact that he enjoyed a particular food or whatever.

“I asked how best to show gratitude for someone who had done a lot for me, someone that I lived with. They asked if you were special to me and I said yes, for all angels are special in their own right.” He tilted his head to the side remembering the conversation. “They laughed then agreed and winked at me and then said I should take you here. I am unsure of why they laughed and winked though. Possibly a strange human mannerism I guess.”

Shiariel pinched the bridge of her nose and took a few deep breaths. Barakiel's ignorance, or was it naivete was going to give her an ulster... if angels could get ulsters. "That is because the way you worded that makes it sound like we were a normal human dating couple who live together." Sighing and trying not to punch herself in the gut to try to make her say the real words she wanted to say she spoke up and put her arm around one of Barakiel's.

"You made reservations and everything, those sorts of places tend to be rather angry if you pull out of that arrangement. Might as well get some food in us..." Shiariel took the lead keeping Barakiel by her side as she put on a fake smile trying to look like a happy girlfriend. She leaned up closer to Barakiel "I hope you remember how to improvise a part. Or at least paid attention to what other people might act. Just...." She sighed again before entering the door. "Please, I want you...and follow me on this one. Act like a normal human for one night."

"I see." This was about all he could say in regards to his error, though he still had no idea how such a thing could occur. Humans were a rather tricky species to understand these days it would seem. They had come a long way since the dark times and had only gotten more and more complicated. "I will try to do better when explaining things in the future."

Before the Archangel could say more Shiariel had placed an arm around his own in what he assumed was an intimate manner. He listened to her words carefully, though the look on his face never wavered. It rarely did after all.

"Improvise, act like a... I do not understand?" He was about to say more but he saw the look on her face and decided that in a time like this it was best not to argue. "I... I will try."

Looking at her his mouth wavered a bit, the corners of it twitching slightly, before he attempted to smile. While it wasn't horrifying it did look a little forced though, it was something he would have to work on at least. It dropped though when he heard a man, dressed rather formally holding folded pieces of paper in a cloth and plastic backing with the word Menu on the front in gold lettering, call out his name and motion them towards an empty table.

"We should follow this man, it seems he knows me somehow."

Shiariel kept her smile on her face as she listened to what Barakiel had to say. He seemed so innocent at time about the weirdest of thing at the oddest of times. Yet he could be so gallant and good to everyone around him that sometimes it was hard for the female guardian angle to not envy the man for being so unconditionally good. In the here and now it was hard to not see everything in shades of grey and find the darkness in every human. But Shiariel tried her best to help as many people as she could while still being the best mom she could be.

Soren sometimes had a hard time unerstanding this but he was still so young and didn't see the full view of the world yet. She couldn't also help but see a bit of his father in him when he wanted to go out and help people as well but Shiariel worried that helping to much without the right balance for him would end up with Soren hurt more than he could recover from. His father had been very much like that when she and Sam had first met.

Stopping her mental track for a moment Shiariel heard what Barakiel had said and she couldn't help but laugh. "Bara, he knows your name because that is how you put it in for the reservation. It's probably written down on a list for when we are supposed to arrive." It was after saying this that Shiariel realized something. After all the past year and more mourning her husbands loss, she hadn't shed a tear for him when she thought of them this time. Instead she had thought that she still had Sam around and he was showing himself in Soren.

She couldn't help but smile at that and have to wipe away a single tear from her eye as she realized it. Was this how it felt to move on. To miss them that they are gone but to know that they would still be there in the ones that you loved? The angel thought to herself as the waiter had brought them to a table to sit at. A table for two, which was good. Before letting go of Barakiel's arm she gave it a reassuring pat before going to sit down in her own chair.

Once seated propperly Shiariel looked at the menu and decided that she would have something light tonight. Things were going to be expensive and she worried that Barakiel might still not understand the economy. Sitting there she took a peek to make sure Barakiel wasn't going crazy in the last few seconds that she took her eyes off of him before she noticed something else. She could feel her heart beating faster as she realized that she had just walked with Barakiel's arm in hers like he was her husband. She hadn't done anything like that since the Bedroom Debacle of the previous year. It made Shiariel blush heavily before looking back at the food on the menu.

The Archangel tilted his head and listened, they had written his name down when he had called the place to ask to eat here.

"Right, that does make sense." was about all he could say to that. They were then lead to a table and handed the folded menus after they had sat down. He looked down at it briefly then sighed. "I do not know what any of this means. What is Spha-get-ees? Or... bowl-g-en-aise?"

He was having trouble with some of the words here, and more so had no idea what any of these dishes were. There were no pictures on the menu here accompanying the names of the food items like the places he usually eats at, the ones with the cheeseburgers he so dearly loves. He looked up at her and while he was speaking noticed that her face was turning a bright shade of red.

"I wish they had cheesebur... Your face is changing colours." he said out loud, before realising that she might actually be getting sick! "Are you feeling ill? Do you wish to go see a doctor? I am told that you must check for fever using the back of ones hand."

Getting up from his chair slightly Barackiel leaned over the table and tried to gently press the back of his hand against her forehead to make sure she was indeed still well.

Shiariel looked up again when Barakiel said her face was changing colors and it caused Shia to blush harder and sigh in a little bit of frustration as Bara leaned over the table to feel her forehead. "5 Minutes, i think that is a new record for acting normal Barakiel." Shia gently raised her hand and grabbed his and put it on the table. "Bara, I'm blushing. It is a normal reaction when one has a higher blood pressure to the cheeks. Most of the time do to embarrassment, now please sit down and calm your voice, you are making us attract attention from the other people trying to eat their dinner." Shia when she looked at Barakiel's hand realized that after putting Barakiel's hand on the table she had kept hers on the back of it.

The female guardian angel blushed a little bit more and sighed. "I realized that when I was holding your arm earlier that the last time I was that close to you was when you thought it was a good idea to sleep in my bed with me." Shiariel gave a short laugh. "That feels so long ago now." After a moment she brought her hand back to her menu as she finished choosing the food that she would be ordering. "Do you want something with a tomato base sauce or would you like a lighter white sauce?"

Blushing? It was something for him to look up later so he added it to the mental list of the many strange things humans did that he was going to have to look up. He was about to say something about it but then he noticed that after pushing his hand down she had left her own on top of it. The sensation of it was, well, not wrong. In actuality it actually felt somewhat warm and comforting to him, a feeling he had not really felt that much since coming to this plain of existence. He shifted in his chair a bit as a small grin formed on his face, something that he both did not notice nor usually do.

When her hand was removed from his though the grin faded as fast as it formed, within seconds, as he took put his full attention to the menu. What was it that he wanted to eat exactly.

"I do not know what a white sauce is, so I will go with tomato." He tilted his head for a second and then nodded. "I also want the meat they use in burgers. Beef? Oh, and cheese. I want cheese."

His method of picking what he wanted was rather simplistic as he knew very few human foods and usually just ate burgers or whatever Shiariel forced him too.

"Also I do not want the string pasta." He said pointing to a man trying to twirl spaghetti onto a fork. "It looks... difficult."

Something that Shiariel had noticed when their hands were touching was that Barakiel had smiled, it wasn't something that she had seen him do easily. But she listened to what he had to say and nodding Shiariel understood somewhat what Barakiel was asking for. "It's not going to taste like a cheeseburger. But I think you will like it. Just.... don't spill any of the sauce on your shirt. Red does not come out easily on white shirts." Shiariel then looked to the waiter that was coming over to them. Giving a polite smile she handed her menu to the waiter before speaking to them. "Yes, we would like two orders of Spaghetti with meat balls. One with Pappardelle noddles instead of the Angle Hair noodles." Shiariel looked over to Barakiel for a moment. "Not literal Barakiel." And she was back to talking to the waiter.

"For the wine what ever the chef would recommend would be fantastic. As for the salad dressings Ranch will be fine thank you." The waiter bowed respectably and walked off with their menu's and orders in hand. After that Shiariel looked at her one hand that was palm down on the table and contemplated something before letting out a soft sigh. When she had partially held Barakiel's hand it had actually felt nice instead of wrong. Wondering about that she put her hand where their hands had been before and had her palm up wondering what Barakiel would do.

He let Shiariel order for him seeing as at this point she probably knew best about these sorts of things. She had spent far more time in the human world then he had of late seeing as he was busy hunting down demons for a few centuries or so. The random thought though brought about a bit of homesickness though and for a few moments, nor more then a blink of an eye, his shoulders sagged before he straightened them up again.

"Thank you once again for your help" he said, "I fear that without your intervention I would have become lost in this world I think. It has all been so much."

It was at this point that she had extended her hand across the table towards him with the palm raised. Blinking he looked at it, then back up to her seemingly confused. Looking around the room he saw that a few of the couples had there hands out across the table apparently resting one on top of the other. Was this a common thing to do at meals he wondered as he slowly stretched his hand out to meet hers.

He didn't grasp hers in his own thought like the rest where doing, he had missed that fact. Instead he simply placed his palm facing down and rested his hand on top of hers awkwardly.
