Jack couldn't help but laugh at Sushi's question. It wasn't out of maliciousness but rather genuine amusement. "Well, Sushi, I can tell you right now that I want to adopt you. I want us to be a family. But it's also up to you as well. Would you want to be adopted by me? I would hope the answer is yes but it's very much up to you at the end of this." He sat up straight to focus more of his attention on the little scuba diver. This conversation was going quite well and it was exciting to see Sushi asking so many questions.
"As for when you'll be adopted, there's a few factors that probably come into play for that. First, I need your accommodations met. So you'll need a proper place to swim and sleep! But once that's ready, I think it comes down to some paperwork as well as moving your personal effects over to the house. Beyond that... I think it'd be a done deal." His gaze shifted to Violet for a moment, looking for a confirmation or clarification on something he wasn't aware of needing.
