Scarlet wished they could leave. Instead of looking at the doctor or anything in the room the whole time the doctor looked her over and asked a few 'offhanded' questions, she kept her gaze on her husband's face. Finally, the doctor stepped back and nodded. "Just what I thought."

Ivan didn't show his worry. He wanted to be strong for Scarlet. "What's the matter?" He asked. Even if he didn't want to show his conscern, he couldn't hide it.

The doctor shrugged. "Nothing bad. Unless you think her having your child is a bad thing." He was guessing that this man was the father, and by the concerned look, he would be shocked if he wasn't. Of course, Ivan was.

The news completely shocked Scarlet into silence.

Ivan's jaw dropped. It was a while until he could speak again. "Child...?" Ivan was amazed. He felt an odd mixture of worry and joy. He was worried about not being responsible enough for a child, but another part of him was looking forward to it.

"At least I'm not dying..." She murmured. Like Ivan, Scarlet was doing a bit of worrying. She was afraid she wasn't ready to have a child. But then she soon relaxed, knowing even if she wasn't, she would still love ths child with her whole life.

Scarlet turned to Ivan and smiled, hoping he was happy about this. "And here you thought something was wrong..." She teased.

((*Looks carefully through every page for the third time.* Yeesh. Didn't see that coming.))

Ivan shook off his shock to give off a warm smile. Now that he wasn't so worried, he found he felt ready for this responsibility. Ivan leaned against the wall, still wearing his smile. "I was worried there for a moment." Ivan admitted.

(( xD Sorry to shock ya and Ivan. Was going to ask, but I kept forgetting.))

The doctor laughed. "Nothing to worry about at all yet. Just have her go see the doctor one every other weeks, and if her symtoms get worse, then bring her to get some medicine that might help."

He reached out and helped Scarlet off of the examining table. "It seems you should have a child in eight months or so."

Ivan felt great. He hugged Scarlet gently. Eight months. That would be long enough for them to enjoy their honeymoon. It seemed like something distant to look forward to.

Scarlet hugged him back before she waved to the doctor and moved out of the room. The doctor gave Ivan 'a look' after she left. "Advice from someone who's had five kids: Don't smoother her and don't crack jokes about her size and waddle when she gets big. That's the worst you could do, I think. Be considerate of her changing hormones but don't make it seem like an inconvenience when she orders you to do something or suddenly bursts out crying for no reason." The doctor gave the younger man a smile before heading out.

Ivan nodded, allowing the doctor's advice to sink in. Five kids... Apparently this was a doctor worth listening to. Ivan opened the door for Scarlet.

Charlie waved. He had almost finished the donut he had picked up after the couple went inside.
