Scarlet shrugged, happy. "Anything would have been fine with me." She moved out of the way so Ivan would be able to get out of the limo.

Ivan climbed out and approached the restaurant to open the door for Scarlet. "After you, lovely!" He declared with a wide smile.

Scarlet smiled at him and walked past "Flattery will get you everywhere."

As the couple went inside, Charlie hit a button to shut and lock all doors. He sat back to read one of the books he kept in the glove compartment for just such an occasion, making sure to keep an eye on the door for his clients.

Ivan grinned. Ever since he had married Scarlet, he had been entralled in almost perpetual happiness. He followed her inside. "Do you have a reservation?" The man at the counter asked. He was a no-nonsense sort of person with a rather impressive moustache. "Indeed we do. Last name Grey." For a moment the man's eyes flashed with interest. He rang a bell, summoning a young waiter, eager to serve. "Show mister and missus Grey to their seat." He instructed, putting stress on the word Grey. Immediately the waiter seemed to tense up at the name. "Right this way!" He said cheerfully, leading the way to their table by the window. There was a wonderful view of the ocean from there, which glistened in the light of the setting sun. Ivan smiled. It was perfect. He pulled Scarlet's seat back for her to sit down. The menus were elegant, devoid of a 'kid's menu'. None of the meals were priced at under twenty-five dollars.

Scarlet was getting quite used to her husband's gentlemanly manner by now, so just sat down in the chair with a soft smile. She wondered why the people had reacted as they did at the sound of 'Grey', and even asked Ivan about it. "Does your name have something special to it here?" She asked quietly.

Ivan shrugged. "I'm almost positive that this is the first time I've been to Italy. Why?" He sat down across from her and studied the menu intently. The waiter approached, his nervousness showing through his cheery fascade. "Have you yet decided what you wish to drink?" He asked, carefully choosing his words to sound polite and intelligent. He set down two glasses of water for them to drink as well.

Scarlet shrugged slightly. "Just wondering about the actions of everyone around us." It wasn't that she had a problem with any of it, she was just curious. Since she could not hear, the sixteen year old was much more aware of actions and movements around her than normal people would be.

When a glass of water was set in front of her, Scarlet looked up and watched the man talk. She wondered if she knew Italian, for she understood what he was saying. But then she noticed he was speaking English, not Italian. Scarlet looked toward Ivan and let him decide if they would have anything besides water to drink.

Ivan was oblivious of their waiter's nervousness. "What would you like to drink, Scarlet?" He asked, politely allowing her to order first.

Scarlet shrugged. "Uh...coffee." She didn't mention that suddenly she didn't feel hungry or thirsty.

"And I'll have root beer." Ivan finished. The waiter bowed. "I'll return shortly." He answered, walking away. When he thought he was not being watched by the couple, he broke into a jog, trying to get their beverages before they complained like the rich people he thought they were. "Now that I think about it," Ivan said, remembering. "My father used to take annual vacations to Italy before I was born."
