Scarlet beamed up at him and kissed his cheek. She soon yawned again. Her eyes drifted closed again.

Ivan covered Scarlet's mouth this time, chuckling softly. He gently carried her to bed and tucked her in before heading into the living room to watch TV. It wasn't long until he fell asleep as well.

A few hours later Scarlet woke, feeling much better. She wandered down the hall and then got to th living room. She saw the TV on before seeing Ivan, so she expected him to be awake. Moving her head to look at the couch, she grinned and went to sit on the floor in front of him. She waited for him to awaken.

In his dream, Ivan's right foot was covered in burning ants. Despite his best efforts, they kept biting at him and could not be quenched or killed.

Ivan's eyes opened slowly, and despite his less than restful sleep he was pleased; His wife was right there when he woke up.

Ivan shook his head, still smiling. "I'm afraid not. Luckily my awakening is infinitely more pleasant than my rest was." He reached down to scratch his foot feverishly with his right hand.

Thick red scales potruded from Ivan's foot. They seemed to be causing quite a skin irritation as they grew out. "I didn't notice until earlier today, but I think I have a some type of foot rash." He answered, not looking at his foot.
