As the priest said "Would you, Scarlet Grant, take this man, Ivan Grey, to be your lawfully wedded husband--" and then Scarlet said "I do". The man then turned to Ivan and repeated the words.

Without a moment's hesitation, Ivan answered. "I do." <That's it!> Smokey thought. <That's the cue!> He came forward, digging in his pocket for the ring. He lifted it from its resting place, and it shimmered like fireworks as it caught the light of the sun; The ring itself was cut from a diamond and smoothed on the edges to prevent the wearer from getting cut by the edge. The stone on the ring was composed of an emerald a ruby and a saphire making up a three-leafed clover shape. Ivan took the ring to give to Scarlet.

As Scarlet held out her hand for him to slip on the ring, she stared in aw at the beauty of the ring. It was everything that she wanted and more. Usually she wore only simple jewelry, but this was very nice, without seeming too nice. She looked up at her husband and gave him the most loving smile she had ever given anyone.

"You may now kiss your bride," the priest said.

Scarlet waited for Ivan to kiss her.

Ivan remembered what he had been told when he bought the ring: "That's an investment in your future. Make sure you keep it safe."

He felt wonderful that Scarlet would wear the ring. Now it was time to kiss her. Ivan did not hesitate.

Scarlet kissed him with all the love she had inside of her for him. When they didn't pull away after a bit, the priest cleared his throat to covered a laugh. Scarlet blushed slightly and pulled back.

"I present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Grey."

Scarlet smiled. Scarlet Grey. I like that.

Ivan felt it: As he and Scarlet kissed, a missing piece of his life was put back into the jigsaw puzzle, and he was now eternally bound to his beloved. "Time for my speech." Ivan said quietly before picking up a microphone. "Friends. Family. My beloved wife. This glorious event marks the beggining of my life. My birth was merely the beggining of my existence; To know true love is what gives one life. I'd like to thank everyone for coming all this way. I really appreciate that everyone came to our wedding. In particular, I'd like to thank Scarlet's brother Jake for his blessing. Some consider a marriage to be legal bondage to a person they want to share their life with, but I believe that a wedding is more than that; I believe that a wedding is a formal entertwining of souls that amplifies the bond between two people who have enough love for one another to come to the agreement that they want to share the rest of eternity with one another." Hellen cried tears of joy, while Ivan's father Gary clapped. Ivan's friends cheered, except Smokey because he was preoccupied with wiping away happy-tears around a corner so no one would see him crying.

Scarlet blinked away tears. She wrapped her arms around her husband and whispered in his ear, for him alone, "That was beautiful, Iv." She kissed his cheek, and heard her brother whistle before he acted like a concerned parent and cleared his throat.

"Save it for later, Sis."

Scarlet turned to him and rolled her eyes before sticking her tongue out. Jake laughed.

Ivan wore a large grin. "Ah, perhaps my speech was beautiful, but nothing could ever compare to your beauty. With you, I consider myself the luckiest man alive." Ivan wondered if he could expect frequent visits from Jake, his brother-in-law.

Shoulders, who had left after the speech without being noticed, returned, driving the bright red convertible Gary had paid for. He got out and opened the door for the newly-weds.

Ivan felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to see Smokey smiling at him. "Whadid I tell ya, Shifty? I knew there was someone for ya." He leaned in a bit closer to whisper. "And you picked a good one, too." Ivan chuckled. "I'm sure there's someone out there for you too, Smokey." Smokey shook his head, tossing his burned out cigarette into a nearby trash can. He reached into his jacket pocket and got another one. His index finger caught aflame, and he used it to light his lung-polluter. "We'll see, Shif- Err... Iv."

A figure watched the events occur from atop a street light. He wore a tight black suit and a cape. On his head he wore a mask that was half black and half white, representing balance between light and shadow. "Two meet. Both love. Two spirits become one." With this phrase, the figure vanished, leaving rose petals in his wake.

Scarlet's eyes widened at the red car. Surely that wasn't for them. But she sure wasn't going to complain. So she slowly moved over to the passenger side and got in and waited for Ivan.

She waved to her brother and smiled at her mother-in-law.

Ivan climbed into their new car. He was pretty sure that his dad had bought it; His friends probably wouldn't pay for something this expensive. Ivan turned the key, grinning at his wife. "Call us! We'll pay for your honeymoon!" Hellen called before Ivan drove off.

"Don't they remind you of the way we were, Gary?" Hellen asked. "Nope." Hellen playfully punched her husband's shoulder.
