Ivan gave Scarlet a confident smile. "It's okay if you're nervous. Just be yourself and you have nothing to worry about." He quickly drank his tea, but by the time he discovered it needed more sugar he had already drank it down. "If you get too nervous, just hand the phone over to me." Ivan sat back and relaxed.

Scarlet smiled at him, though her insides were churning. She finished her food and then picked up the phone. She sat on Ivan's lap as she went through the caller ID and then dialed the number. She quietly talked to Ivan's mother for a while before handing the phone to him. [color=33ff99]"Here."[/color]

Ivan took the phone, smiling. "Hey Mom! ...Because she's a bit nervous... That's right! She's my fiance... Okay then. Talk to ya later!" Ivan hung up. "Thank you for making the effort to talk to her. I'm an only child, so naturally this is a big deal for my family."

"It's a day to look forward to." With everything that had happened, Ivan just now remembered the deep gashes in his chest. He glanced downward to make sure they weren't infected, only to find that they had already healed into a pair of large scars. <That's odd... Usually that would take about six hours...>

Ivan made a face that reflected deep thought. "Well... If I had to guess... I have absolutely no clue." He answered, dropping his expression of fake contemplation. "Looking a bit closer, these look really deep. Judging by their depth, they should have taken a day or two to reach this stage." Something weird was afoot.

Ivan would have shrugged if Scarlet wasn't laying on his shoulder. "Normally I'd think that's kinda funny, but it seems like that's the most likely explanation at the moment." He said, stroking Scarlet's hair.
