Scarlet gasped. "The chicken!" She ran inside the house and hurriedly took the chicken out of the oven. It was only slightly burnt.

Ivan hurried after Scarlet, almost falling on the coffee table. "Is our lunch okay?" He asked, eager to see what she had made. His stomach created a loud rumbling noise.

Ivan hurriedly got plates cups and silverware. He turned an appraising eye to the chicken. Judging by appearance alone, it would be delicious. "What would you like to drink?" He asked, pouring himself a glass of tea.

Quick as a blink, Ivan had brought Scarlet her drink and sat down to eat. He ravenously bit into the leg of chicken. Perhaps he was just hungry, but it was delicious. Before he knew it he was holding a bone. "Excellent job, Scarlet!"

Scarlet beamed at the praise. "Coming from the world famous chef Ivan Grey, that's a great compliment." She teased.

Ivan chuckled. "I cook with my heart and soul. That is the true secret to excellence." He pointed out. "Did anyone call while I was gone?" He asked, wondering if Scarlet had talked to his mother yet.

Scarlet shrugged. "Not while I was here. But I didn't think to check the machine...sorry."

"Don't be sorry. I'll check it." Ivan reassured her. He hit the button on the answering machine, playing back the message they received. Upon hearing the voice, Ivan smiled. "That's Mom." The phone rang again. He picked it up swiftly. "Hello? Hi, Susan... No, I'm not sick... I wasn't at work today because I'm getting married... Bye." Ivan hung up. "People seem to worry when I don't show up at work." Ivan pointed out, sitting back down. "It would be nice if you called my mother back; Talking to you would mean a lot to her." Ivan chuckled. "She hasn't even heard your voice, but her expectations are high. She won't be dissapointed."
