Scarlet grinned and looked around. It was a nice clean place. He obviously didn't really like clutter. "Real nice," she told him.

Ivan smiled, happy that Scarlet seemed to like his house. "Alright." Ivan began. "You're probably still a little shaken from your experience earlier, so tonight you can sleep in the guest room." He opened the front door a bit and poked his head out. He spoke in growls and barks; "Don't let anyone in without my permission." A group of wolves howled in agreement, lying in wait in the bushes by his house to attack any new visitors that came toward it. Shutting the door, Ivan turned back to his guest. "Feel free to look around! I'm going to go get my shower out of the way." And with that said, Ivan quickly went into the bathroom to wash up.

Scarlet blinked. She planned on taking him up on both his offers, but asked before he could escape to the bathroom, "You have....wolves in your back yard?" That comforted her in some ways, and scared her in others.

"Actually, they live in the forest. They have a pretty big clan. I think I earned their respect at some point." Ivan answered, speaking louder so that Scarlet could hear him through the bathroom door. In almost five minutes, Ivan had finished his shower and began to get dressed.

Scarlet had onl heard a tiny bit of what he said because when he spoke she had been walking right by the bathroom. But most of it was lost on her deaf ears. She heard "forest", "clan" and "respect" and flled in the spaces with her own words. Once she had looked through the whole house quickly, she ended up bac in the living room.

Looking toward his bedroom, she saw the door was closed--it hadn't been when she left it to look at the rest of the house. So Scarlet guessed he was done with his shower. Moving that way, she said, "Ivan, uh....could I borrow some dry clothes to put on after my shower?"

Ivan opened the door, now fully dressed. "Of course! Look around, pick something you like. I'll get to work on lunch!" Overflowing with joy, Ivan rushed into the kitchen and put on the chef hat he was given by his boss after he picked up his job a few months ago. He went over a mental checklist: Tea boiling, soup cooking, lettuce chopped, bread and cheese both sliced, and, last but not least, he unscaled deboned and baked the salmon he caught two days ago. Ivan took a moment to take a deep sniff. The kitchen smelled wonderful for the first time since he had that housewarming party and his family and his friends from his old neighborhood brought him scented candles, a guitar, the TV in the living room, and the reconstruction to the bathroom. Ivan loved the feeling of those memories.

Scarlet grabbed a pair of sweat pants with draw-strings and a baggy T-shirt. She went into the bathroom and quickly took a shower. Once she was done she got dressed in the clean dry clothes and wrapped her wet hair in a white plush towel. She went out to the kitchen and inhaled. "Something smells good." She smiled.

"I think it's you." Ivan answered, pouring tea. He lifted the bowl of soup from off of the oven and used a large ladle to make two bowls of it, then put the top slice of bread on a pair of sandwiches. After that was done, he sliced the fish down the center. It was a rather large salmon. Good thing he was fishing upstream. He adorned the plate around the salmon with flakes of parsley, chopped garlic, slices of apple, and on the salmon itself, drops of lemon juice. After the meal was complete, he set the plates at the table. It was a beautiful atmosphere for lunch; Sunlight streamed through the window, the trees swayed in the breeze, the wind lightly drifted through the window to caress all within the house. Ivan blinked, pulling Scarlet's chair out for her to sit in. <Maybe I AM a poet...> Ivan thought. "I hope you enjoy it. I'm thinking of something special to make for dinner!"

Scarlet smiled, thanked him and sat down. "Too special to mention, or can you tell me what you plan to cook?" After taking a small bite of the salmon, she asked, "And would it be okay if I helped you?"

Ivan sat down, grinning. "Sorry. I'm afraid I can't tell you what it is, but I would love for you to help me make it." Ivan took a very large bite of his half of the salmon and quickly chased it with a few spoonfuls of soup. A wolf hopped past the window, playing in the field.
