Tears unwillingly sprang to Scarlet's eyes. No one had ever said anything like that to her before. No, correction: No one had even ever cared for her like that before. And feeling his care felt wonderful. Scarlet smiled at Ivan, unsure what to say.

Ivan embraced Scarlet. She had been left speechless by his announcement, but it was alright. "You don't need to say anything, Scarlet. It's enough that you understand how I feel now. You may not feel the same way, especially since this might seem a bit sudden, but I just had to let you know how I feel. I'm not going to ask who's after you again; You can tell me when you see fit, or even not at all." Tears almost flowed from Ivan's eyes thanks to this emotional situation, but he managed to just barely hold them back.
Scarlet smiled her thanks. She backed out of Ivan's arms and wiped the tears clear off her cheeks. She thought a moment. [color=33ff99]"Could we take a walk? I need some fresh....fresher air." [/color]She grinned and took one of his hands.

Ivan shrugged. "Black seems to be the color that goes with my tranformations. If I try a little I can change the color though." To demonstrate, Ivan's wings turned white like a dove's.

Scarlet marveled silently over how white he was now. [color=33ff99]"That's sweet!"[/color] She squeezed his hand before becoming quiet again.
The night was growing even colder. Ivan sprouted feathers to keep him and Scarlet warm. With his free hand, he managed to work his way out of his jacket and offered it to Scarlet. He ruffled his feathers to provide Scarlet with extra warmth. He held her closer. "It's cold out tonight. It may even snow. I hope I can keep you comfortable."
Scarlet blushed. [color=33ff99]"Um, yeah, you are."[/color] She kept her face down, though she was sure he could still see her blush since she was almost six feet tall.
Ivan noticed Scarlet blushing, and it made him smile. A small snowflake landed on his wing around Scarlet. He reached in front of her to brush it off. "It's a beautiful night." Ivan pointed out, looking at the stars. "But nowhere near as beautiful as you are." For some reason, perhaps the cold, not many people were around that part of the city.
