Eric was tentative at first, but once he realized he already paid for the sorbet and it was no use letting it go to waste, he resigned to eating it. He enjoyed licking the sides, letting the ball get smaller and smaller and locking in the ice cream from slipping down.

Eric did believe Nerina sold seashells. It was maybe the first thing he did believe of her occupation or lifestyle. She asked Eric about his own, but the boy was more forthcoming of who he was. "I'm a student at Starlight Academy. I have powers and stuff, you know?"

Eric grinned and looked around the park. Eventually he found a large enough rock for the job, and pulled it from the ground. "I can do this," the rock suddenly started to glow, and seemingly began to melt in his hands. Instead of the molten rock dripping to the ground and burning everything, it moved in Eric's hands and reshaped itself. The white liquid cooled, and what remained was a silver, metal rose.

He offered it to Nerina, "If you aren't busy later, perhaps you'd like to come visit me there?"

Nerina shook her head when Eric mentioned powers and stuff. She thought the students there were just a little unique. She didn't stay around long enough to figure out they were werewolves, demi-gods and super-powered students.

She liked going to the school because it felt like she was filling in on the time she never spent at secondary school, but of course, she couldn't start on being registered as a student when she didn't know how old she was. Not to mention her missed years of education. She always dreamed of going to university to study something great, like veterinary science, until she found out that she wasn't like other girls.

"I like Starlight Academy's library. They have a listening room with a nice sound." She probably meant acoustics. She then saw Eric pick up a rock. Then his hands really were like the sun.

"Eric, that looks dangerous," Nerina said, concerned. Then he held out a metal rose for her.

"... Thanks."
She took out the baton used to play the triangle with, and struck the metal rose gently. It didn't make the sound she liked. Then Nerina ran to the other side of the pathway to give it to a homeless man. She then went back to Eric.

"I like triangles better, sorry."
He mentioned visiting the Academy, but she didn't know when "later" was. She crunched into the waffle cone of her ice cream.

"How about go now? To the Academy."

“Oh, you've been?” Even better. That meant he wouldn't have to waste time giving her a tour. Not that Eric actually knew the campus at all well anyway. He had only just arrived a about a week ago, and he was still feeling the place out. He found a lot of nice trails to run through, and sports fields to pick up a game, but the other facilities were still a bit of a mystery. That included the library.

Eric smiled when she took his rose, but that smile faded over the time of her 'testing'. The rose wasn't meant to be used as an instrument, but that's what she did. And, in the end, his rock was in the hands of some homeless guy. To be honest, it would probably do more for the homeless man than Nerina. The rose could probably sell for a meal or two.

"That's alright." Eric conceded. Next time, he'd make her something practical. Or maybe jewelry to go with her seashells. However, it wasn't all bad news. Nerina seemed eager to come with him immediately. To that, Eric was very pleased.

He always had time for a woman.

"That's a good idea. How about it?" Eric took Nerina's hand again and started to walk back out of the park and to his car. There were many cars in the parking lot, but even Nerina could tell Eric's was different. It was black, like a lot of cars, but it had a very distinct aesthetic to it that made it stand out to everyone. Simply put, it was a luxury sports car.

"Hop in," Eric opened the passenger door for her.

Eric's car was black and had a sleek chassis, like a viperfish... But nicer. His windows were tinted and the seats were made of fine leather. She stepped into the car, which was kept scrupulously clean. She felt bad for getting her sandy feet all over his car. There was very little adornment, like air fresheners or things hung from the mirror.

Once Eric started the car, it felt like they were gliding across the road. Pop music played as soon as the car rose to life. It was kind of noisy, but she didn't mind it. The acoustics and sound system in the car were also very good. The engine hummed quietly in the background, and everything seemed to be handled smoothly.

"You drive well." Nerina commented. She looked outside the window to view the changing scenery as they made their way to the campus.
