Miles looked at Nakata, “Where did you come from?” Miles looked at the owlbear and said “You okay little guy?” Unresponsive, Miles sighed and stood up. “What’s with this thing it had to get violent, it must have some amazing regeneration to come back from death. You think it will heal and I can keep it.” Taking two steps toward Nakata Miles fell over. “I’m tired can we take a little break for a while.” Miles eyes started to close. “I’m going to take a little nap in this godforsaken snow.” This day had actually gone pretty well. Miles passed out after the adrenaline of the fight wore off. In his sleep he saw a little baby owlbear. Miles sat there playing with the owl bear in his dreams. As he dreamed the owlbear got bigger and he rode it as it ran across a field. In his sleep he let out a little smile.

Naka let Miles rest for he had earned it. These owlbears were resistant to fire, and healed though they could not heal from injuries like what he had dealt the first one, and the second one didn't heal fast enough to deal with damage from his simple kunai knife. Someone was helping them.... somehow. Given what he had seen in this very forest with Alistair, he didn't completely find it unlikely that it had outside assistance.
"Gomen nasai. Anata ga shinde shimau." (I'm sorry. You will die.) He said to the owlbear as it lay there dying. With outstretched hand, he activated his devil drive and blasted the creature's open mouth and blasted the hottest flame he could manage to conjure as he burned away the creature's insides with a continuous gout of flame until he could see the charred blackness within, leaving the hide pretty much unburned.

Miles woke up feeling pretty good. He turned and looked at the owlbear, “Awww, you didn’t make it. Well you put up a good fight. That hide of yours will be useful later.” Miles wanted that owlbear alive but it would still be useful later. Miles looked over to see Nakata, “So, Naka is this forest full of creatures like that one? Oh yeah, and did you find whatever it was you were looking for?” Miles knew that if it took his sword a burst to kill it the first time, then his tackle wouldn’t have killed it the second time. Naka must have come and fished it off while he wasn’t aware of it. “Thanks for the save, pal.” Miles didn’t feel the pain from the exercise after his nap and was feeling like he was recharged.

Nakata only looked and nodded, taking the feathers out of his pocket.
"I found what I was rooking for. In this forest there are monsters worse than this one, you just need to know where to sarch." He explained as he walked over to pick up the spear.

Before he began the process of empowering the weapon, he decided that he would see how well his opponent would deal in battle. He was going to have to gain some sort of starting ground to know what kind of body training to have him partake in next. Hefting the spear, he pointed it at Miles.
"Come at me, attack as though your rife was at stake." He said.

Miles was fine with fighting now. It would be fun to see what would happen. Thinking that speed would be better for this one Miles decided not to use the longsword because it would way him down. “Fine, I’ll come at you with everything I got. Let’s start this thing.” Miles looked at the spear Naka was using it was the one he had brought. If this got interrupted by a monster Miles wouldn’t show it mercy. This started to seem interesting to him.

“Here I go,” Miles said as he went at Naka. He would try to watch the spears movement and go for a punch at Naka. Miles was expecting Naka to sweep so he based his first attack on that and tried to go in for a hit.

When Miles attacked with his bare hands, Naka maintained the spear only out of respect for his fighting style, though his choice was unwise. He would need to be schooled in strategy, and of course as his opponent went for his attack, guarding against a sweep, Naka took liberty, side stepping only slightly and bracing the inside of his arm with the haft of the spear, he drove the remainder of the haft toward Miles' shoulder, not hard enough to cause any damage, but enough to make the lesson memorable.

In the past Nakata had been instructed in fighting a weapon when unarmed, but those fights were reliant on luck as well as skill for it took much more with fists than did a blade to kill. His father had pushed him to train hard with only minimal gun training, claiming that guns were a far inferior weapon, and Naka tended to agree. Anything that a child could use to kill a lion was something that held no honor. In this, he was pleased that Miles wished to learn melee combat.

Miles grabbed his shoulder after he had stabilized himself. “That hurt,” Miles said, “charging like that was not a good idea. Hold on a sec,” Miles walked over taking his hand off his shoulder and picked up his blade. “One more go for me,” Miles said has he went for Naka one more time. Miles was going to try to use the swords electric capabilities to stun Naka.

He planned to use the flat side of the sword to catch him in his side and send out a few volts. He was going for it all with this plan hoping not to get caught by Naka again. Naka seemed to have a high proficiency in all the weapons he’d seen him use. “Let’s do this,” Miles said as he approached Nakata.

Naka nodded and twirled the staff around his body, quickly spinning it around his neck, his torso, shoulders, and leg. He waling pace was slow as he moved toward Miles. He decided to make the first strike this time, attempting something simple. As he got into range, he swung hard from right to left so that the haft of the weapon would be aimed to strike his head. It was a wide and obvious attack but it should serve to motivate Miles. Most weapon users were at least a little reliant on their weapons and so attacks like this would only be a test, or a feint to lure him into range of better tactics. It was important that this lesson be taught first, but with the right tutelage, he figured Miles could be a great fighter.

Miles ducked down under the spear and then dove forward. Glad that the attack didn’t hit him Miles gained a little more confidence, he was going to try to get into closer range to attack Naka. The spear had a longer reach then his sword so he would have to watch for that. Miles tighten his grip on the sword, while sending his energy into it and aimed for Naka’s right arm with the flat side of the blade with the electricity. He was going to try to send some sparks on it and numb it so it would disable him a little. Miles was unsure of how Naka would respond to the attack but he was still going to go for it. Miles went for the attack and tried to keep an eye on the spear in case Naka went for another strike.

As Naka couldn't help but notice Miles' attack. There was no feint there, and he was fully aware of the blade as he had provided Miles with the materials to work on it and was more than happy to block the attack with the haft of his spear. In theory the blade was a powerful ally, but Naka had been fighting his entire life, at this point most of his martial arts skills were muscle memory. As he blocked the strike, which was done by letting the spear fall after his attack and then drawing it back and holding it diagonally in the path of the blade, he spun around the outside of the blade's range and disengaged the spear as he carried the momentum of his spin into a sweep aimed for the back of Miles' knees.
