Miles watched Nakata walk off to get whatever he was looking for. He may be able to defend himself but with this pain it wouldn’t be easy. He could use his demonic strength when a creature arrived but what kind of creatures lived in this forest. Then, Miles remembered the illithids and the shock lizards parts Nakata had gotten. Miles started to get an uneasy feeling and shivered “Man its cold out here. This feeling what is it?” Just then Miles felt a sharp pain, “Pain, pain that’s what this feeling is.” Miles looked at the metal balls that Nakata had put on him. Miles wondered how Nakata was doing so far with his search. “Just got to hold out a while longer and I’ll be golden.” Miles looked at the sword he had brought. It was the one he had made with the shock lizard parts. “Weird things sure happen at this school” Miles said with a sigh. This school was going to keep him interested in it for a long time. He wondered how things were going at the school.

Naka trudged back to the clearing. It had been a little over an hour, Miles was going to have some trouble moving properly for the day, but he would be forced into it. The parts for the spear had been collected and he was delighted to see Miles had maintained his posture. Unfortunately the iron balls were going to have secondary effects. He knew from having copied his power that the cold was a nuisance and that iron got cold very very quickly. To make matters worse... there was something behind Miles.

———————

"So the troublemaker returns. Dos aras timine grue." A second Owlbear was made within his crystal ball, and with a snap of his fingers they were unleashed, two owlbears suddenly appearing, one behind Miles and one in front of Nakata.

—————————

Naka quickly pocketed the feathers and did a backflip to escape a swipe, but he had learned first hand that his kicks and punches didn't work on bears like he had hoped. With that fact in mind, he chose to fight with strength and activated the mode he had copied from Miles. He had affectionately named it "Devil Drive." He treated these modes like they were hard drives with certain genetic data on them.

His hair turned red, no wings sprouted forth this time for he didn't need them, his right arm took flame, and his strength increased.

—————————-

"Oh this is new! Well if it's fire then. Bir is ven sol hok dace meh" He chanted as he tossed a wet match onto the crystal ball. As of now, the Owlbears would be fireproof.

Hearing a “Rawroot” behind him Miles turned to look at where the noise had come from behind him. Seeing a massive creature behind him Miles’s jaw dropped. “Come on, did you have to come after me?” Miles looked at the creature that was behind him. Miles thought it was a giant bear until he got a look at the creatures face. “Owl-Bear?” Miles said in complete disbelief. He summoned his demonic strength and chucked the metal balls behind him hoping to stun and attempting to roll away in the direction of his sword from the creature. Stumbling mid roll Miles could feel the pain from keeping the metal balls on him. This was really going to be a sucky situation he realized. The pain wasn’t going to just go away because he asked it to. Miles turned to look at the owl bear trying to see if this was going to be his last few moments.

Naka dodged and blocked the owl bear, breathing fire at it at one point, and while that startled it for a moment, it didn't turn to run. Thanks to the demonic strength garnered from Miles' power, he was able to block and return with powerful punches of his own. That was when he got an idea. So it had been fireproof on the outside, did that mean it would be on the inside? Attempts to anger it met with success and he leaned all the way back so that his hand touched the ground to avoid a swipe, then turned sideways to avoid another swipe, and finally performed a cartwheel kick to retaliate. The kick met with the creature's jaw, but caused no severe damage. As the owlbear roared, Naka launched fire from his arm into the creature's mouth, expecting it go down. Though the inside of its body burned red, still it came at him, at least for a while, before finally collapsing onto the ground before him. With that answer in tow, Naka turned to go help his pupil, just in time to get smacked halfway across the clearing by the owlbear that he had thought dead.

————————

Half expecting one of his creatures to go down, the man had prepared a healing spell, a jar of salve which he sent through his crystal ball. He had three more such items but the amount of damage he could heal would be limited.

————————-

The owlbear charged at Miles, roaring loudly as it brandished its claws. At one point it saw the other running towards it but that threat was out of the way. Food, she wanted food. This one had the killing instincts of a mother needing to protect her young, though unbeknownst to her, there were no young. She was protecting herself like there were two of her and that in and of itself, was a dangerous combination. This human would be edible.

Miles looked at the owlbear charging at him and swore under his breath. He wondered how this wild creature would taste cooked. Miles looked at the distance between him and his sword and then turned back to look at the owlbear. Taking a deep breath Miles prepared to breathe a stream of fire at the wild creature. Aiming at the creature stomach he let out the flame he had been building. After realizing it he crawled over to his sword and unsheathed the blade and got to his feet. As he pulled it out sparks of electricity covered the blade. He hoped that the owlbear was taken care of but with the way his luck had been, it wouldn’t be that easy. He wondered how Nakata was doing in his stroll to the forest. Miles figured he probably was fine wherever Naka was.

Seeing no other solution Naka let his devil drive end. His hair returned to its normal white with black streaks, and the flames disappeared. Instead, he became a blur to the owlbear, several afterimages of himself remaining in his wake as he use Satoko acceleration. He did of course slow it down so that it wouldn't do what it normally did, hoping that a single hit would scare the owlbear into running, but it did not. As it got up to charge him, Naka activated it again. To him the bear was going in slow motion, and this time he use it to its fullest, running his hand along the bear's side as he did this, and making sure his hand ran down its spine. When satoko acceleration ended, the owlbear was a corpse. The molecular structure of its side and spine were completely blasted away and the insides were on fire. It was one that he had copied that he didn't like to use very often, at least not this application of it. Give this turn of bad luck, he took off in the direction that Miles was at, his power still a secret. Once there, Naka took a good hiding position and watching Miles fight the owlbear, ready to intervene if necessary, but not planning on it.

Miles was unsure how long he could hold out against this creature. He was able to stay out of the creatures reach. “You want a piece of this you big dummy?” Miles was unsure of what to do against this giant owlbear. His primary weapon was his fire and this creature was practically as resistant to it as he was. He wondered how many volts his sword could produce in one burst. He was going to test out his weapon a little bit. He was going to try to finish this in one burst. Miles let out a little smile the pain was a nuisance but this was going to be fun. “Let’s just see how your insides do against this?” Miles rushed in watching the bear’s claw when it swung he slid and put the sword into the bear’s stomach. He let his power flow from him into the sword. Sparks flew from the sword and sparks covered the bear.

Nakata watched as Miles stabbed the creature and electrocuted the creature. He was pretty happy to see Miles win out, but he knew from first hand experience that wouldn't be enough.

—————————-

"Mindless beasts I suppose i had better do something about that. Et tu near sol vin dorum escat tun vaas." He said as he tossed the salve, healing his remaining owlbear. Along with it he threw a strand of fox fur onto the crystal ball, heightening the creature's intelligence.

—————————

Suddenly the owl bear knew that it wasn't pregnant. It wasn't smart enough to strategize but it knew that it needed to fight smarter and it knew it had a master and needed to do his bidding. The roars sounded more word like now.
"Diiiiee." It said in a gravelly voice as it charged again.

“What is wrong with you? I just killed you.” Miles wasn’t sure he could do that again. “You want me to die? Come on were past that already.” Miles liked the creature’s persistence. “Hey we don’t have to fight you know. You can calm down and you can be my pet.” The owlbear was either going to be his or it was going to be dissected once it was dead. If this owlbear was wasn’t going to be his, fine by him. Miles tried to put his full strength into what he was about to do. He was going to try to tackle the bear with his demonic strength.

Naka mentally smacked himself on the forehead and took off, though instead of doing what he did to the last owlbear, he stopped behind it, outside of the range of Miles' vision and drew his kunai to do something he didn't have the option of last time. With the creature distracted, Naka was able to drew his kunai across the monster's spine a number of times, dragging it up the road, and across the street. With that done, he sheathed it and took off again, using the speed to get out of the way before Miles could crash to the ground with the owlbear.

————————-

"Not enough to deal with these two. I'll worry about coming up with something else later." He said to himself as he stood up from his chair and walked away. The loss of the owlbears was no real issue, but he didn't need to worry about that. He had seen almost all of what his enemies could do right now and that would keep this from being a total loss.

———————-

The owlbear fell, not completely dead, but its spine had been severed multiple times. It would be possible that Miles had heard the kunai being drawn and sheathed, but Naka doubted he would have been seen. Once the owlbear fell, he came running up to Miles at normal speed.
"Are you ooo kay?" He asked.
