Miles sighed it felt like they had been walking for ages, “So this is the place were going to train in,” Miles said looking at the dense Forest that surrounded them. Nakata had brought them here to start training in hand to hand combat and for Miles to help him practice smithing. They had been in the forest for a while when they came across a little clearing. “You think this will be a good place to set up shop for a bit.” Miles set his sword and a spear he had brought for Naka to practice on against the tree branch and turned to look at the area. He felt like they could be attacked at any moment here in this forest. “I’m sure we can find some kind of material for you to use in this forest. But, before that what kind of training are we doing.” Miles was ready for whatever they would be doing, “So what are we going to do for the Hand to Hand training” Miles asked Nakata.

Nakata thought for a minute. He had a few choices but given Miles' body type, it would seem that Shouryn Ryu Karate would be best.
"I think we'rr start out with Shouryn Ryu Karate. It is a styre focused on strength and one of the few Karate styres that hasn't been varied for tournament use. Before that though, we'rr have to train your body. If you need a reason why, you are wercome to attack me." He said, using the same line his father had given him when he was a boy. Body training, which was a foremost part of any true discipline, and in conjunction with mental training, was important to build on. Without stamina, strength, and endurance, any opponent could best a tired fighter, and with that in mind, he sought to help Miles by teaching him the same way he had been taught. The road would be long and hard, but he had faith in him.

Miles knew that in a hand to hand fight it would most likely lead to him being defeated easily and he wouldn’t get anywhere overestimating himself. “I’ll pass on that offer for a while, but I’ll take you up on it another day maybe,” Miles said cracking his knuckles. “So where do we start with this Shouryn Ryu Karate Training?” Miles pronounced the words slowly trying not to mispronounce them. Miles was willing to get stronger no matter what the cost. To him what made dreams come true is the power to protect what everything he held dear to him. His dream to make his world famous sword would mean nothing if he had nothing he wanted to protect. “Also, if this doesn’t require your full attention you could go find some materials for you to use while doing your smithing practice. If it does then lets proceed to getting it done and I look forward to doing it.” Miles smiled at Nakata with an eager to learn face.

Nakata wondered what his father would have done if he hadn't taken him up on the offer to attack. At this point, he still wasn't sure of what this guy's current skill level was, and without that it would be difficult to determine the starting point.
"To be honest, I'm not sure what materiars to gatha. I assure you though, this first exercise wirr push your stamina." He said as he dropped his backpack. As it hit the ground, it was obvious that it was very heavy because it left an imprint in the frozen ground where it had fallen. From his backpack, he pulled two heavy iron balls, each weighing about thirty pounds, and left two very tough looking leather straps hanging from his backpack.
"To start with, crouch down and stretch your arms out, with your wrists bent so that your palms are facing in front of you and your fingers are pointed up." Once Miles had done this, he would place the metal balls on the back of his wrists, braced against his hands. Oh it would be painful, and in the cold it would be even more difficult, but he would need punching and kicking speed and accuracy before he could continue.
"Make sure you are crouched row enough that your knees are pointed straight out to either side of you." He said as he retrieved two more thirty pound balls from his bag, suddenly glad he had chosen military grade canvas for his usual backpack.

Doing as Nakata asked Miles said “Well then just think about what kind of weapon your aiming for, something to do with an element is where I started” Miles would help him find materials if he was able to but for now he had to focus at the task at hand. Once the metal balls were placed on the back of his wrists Miles would just try to focus on the forest around them. When he saw the imprint the backpack had made on the ground he knew this would be painful. Miles could feel the cold nipping at him. He would have to try his best to ignore though he knew it would become a nuisance in the long run. He would try to continue the training despite any negative things that may happen. “You also might want to start to get a feel for the spear over there because it’s the weapon I brought for you will be working with.” Miles focused on the two metal balls on his wrist and prepared for Nakata to place on the rest. He could feel the pressure in his wrist starting to build up. He would not give up in this training even if he had to knock on Death’s door during the training. If the metal started to get cold and bun he probably wouldn’t be able to resist some complaints. “Approximately how long do you think this will take?” Miles asked Nakata, “I know this cold has to bother you to.”

Nakata picked up the spear, taking a stance as if it was a naginata. He had the spear resting on his shoulder and slid the haft along quickly, he then slapped the extended part of the haft so that it spun, circling around his neck. Had an opponent been there, it was possible that they would have been smashed on the head, baring that, he stuck the haft in the ground and flipped back, using it to balance himself and did what would have been a reverse scissor kick. He landed in a low crouch and thrust the weapon forward and finally standing.
"Wirr that do for a feer? Arso, I'm going to have you do that for one hour today. You wirr have more training after that. It's going to hurt, but you wirr be stronga for it." He said, holding the spear up vertically.

Miles could feel the pain starting to get to him so he tried to focus on other things, “An hour a day, fine by me, I got an idea what you can do with the spear though, since I’ve shown you how to use blood as a material,” Miles paused wondering why he thought of this idea, “you could use a creatures, mine, or yours or we could go into town and buy some materials. Yeah I think we should go into town.” Miles had brought some money with him to the school for that particular reason. There were many different things to use as a base and if there was a place he could find jewels cheap that would be better. “Do you know of any place there could be where one such as I could buy a jewel?” Feeling a sharp pain Miles went, “Man, that burns, I can’t wait for this snow to go away.”

Naka placed the spear down and looked at Miles.
"I have a few materiars I think I can gatha within the forest. This is very dagerous prace. It is furr of monsters of arr kinds and no one know why." He said as he flipped up the spear. He thought seriously about what kind of effect he wanted to have on the spear and thought it would be all the easier. He had heard the western stories of turtle doves and how they would turn over the ends of the earth to get back to their mate. He figured he might be able to place a returning effect on the spear, to make it come back when thrown. There was no better effect to place on a spear than that.
"I wirr go gatha the materiars I seek from this forest, you stay here rike that and I will return with the materiars."

“Well, I’ll just leave you to that then and don’t get eaten.” Miles thought about being attacked while alone with the metal balls. “If something attacks me I’m allowed to attack back, right?” Miles wondered what Naka had in mind for the spear. Miles could feel the pain building up in his body. Miles thought about how good his bed would feel right now. There would be as minimum complaining out loud as he could. He asked for training and that was what he was getting.

Miles started to concentrate on the task at hand and let Naka go and find the materials he needed. All he had to do was to endure this pain for the moment. He sat there with the cold all around him and the metal balls on his wrist and just watched the trees around him.

Naka smiled at Miiles' question.
"of course you are arrowed to defend yourserf. stay vigirant." He said in parting as he took off into the woods. The birds had mostly all left for the winter but their nests might have some feathers in them, and males were slightly different color than females so the concept of finding the dove feathers wasn't that bad.

He took what he knew and applied it to his search. Doves tended to stay in places where the treelines were a bit thinner, this meant they wouldn't be too deep in the forest. As he followed what he knew, he stopped short when he saw two of them sitting on a branch together. That meant they were mates... and they hadn't migrated. With his target acquired, and an even better situation before him than he had thought, he began to go about trying to gather 2-3 feathers from each of the doves.

Meanwhile, a dark figure watched from the forest depths. Its black cloak adorned its form and a white mask rested on his face.
"So the white haired one has a pupil now. If I could find the yellow haired one and take them both out, this would be prime, but i'll take what I can get for now." He said to himself, safely hidden at his crystal ball.

He went about gathering a few ingredients from his stores, primarily: honey, bear fur, a rat's tail, and an owl's eye; and began his incantation.
"Sol iin bre tur nomina, es vin tat so hissan, vira vira tobiron. Awaken monster and do my bidding." He chanted as he simply dropped the ingredients on his crystal ball. As soon as they hit, they sunk in and a magic circle, visible only to him through his crystal ball, appeared behind the pupil.
"Lets see how he fairs with my owlbear." Evil laughter filled his hideaway as he relaxed and watched, almost as if watching television, though he kept some spell provisions close by to strengthen the owlbear if need be.

(Owlbears are approximately eight to ten feet (2.5–3 meters) tall and resemble a cross between an owl and bear. Owlbears are carnivorous creatures famed for their aggression and ferocity[15]; they live in mated pairs in caves and hunt in packs attacking any creature bigger than a mouse. Picture of owlbear
