"Mon dieu... this definitely needs a lot more work than I thought," Celeste murmured to herself as she gingerly walked over the broken floorboards in the old building she had recently purchased. It was a large Victoirian style property set over three floors with a brickwork porch, ornate ceilings, and narrow hallways. The windows had stained around the edges that prismed through the rooms, and each room had a fireplace and hardwood floors that desperately needed to be replaced or refinished. It was a lovely place, but it needed a lot of work, more than she had realised when she had wandered through it with the estate agent and hopelessly fallen in love with it. It even had a large backyard with a few fruit trees and a cobblestoned path that lead to a gazebo off to one side.
Her initial idea had been to convert the place into a warm inviting space where she could live, and with some luck, bring in some foster children - or at least have a place where people felt safe, be together, have parties and could just hang out. Oh, yes, Celeste had big ideas, though sometimes, she had to admit, too big - like now.
She wondered what Lux would say when she showed him this. She had told him about the idea she had one day - before she had actually made the purchase - when she saw him downtown, and that maybe, if he wanted he could lend her a hand, or offer some suggestions.
"He is going to think I'm losing it, yes indeed..." she laughed good-naturedly as she moved through the house, exploring it while waiting for Lux to arrive and check out the property.
