Since coming to the Academy, Lumis has often gotten an oppurtunity to enjoy the feeling of serenity. He loved the outdoors, and on this day he wondered if there was a place to find peace within himself once again. On this day, he figured that he should take some time among himself to go for another stroll. But where could he possibly find a place to relax, he thought. He wanted to try something new today. He wandered about until he came across a beach. Great. So he decided to stay there for now. Lumis walked to the shore to examine the vast water. It appeared to be clean, though it actually wasn't.

He looked around to analyze his surroundings. Nobody around. He began to relieve himself of his gear, a plain white long sleeved dress shirt, dark colored slacks. He slowly proceeded, drawing himself closer to the water. A good time to let himself go, he thought. He kicked off his sneakers and dipped his feet in the surface to test the water's temperature. It was cool, yet salty, but just right for him. With that, he began to relax himself. He then shifted his body weight, allowing himself to fall flat on the ground. There he stood hoping that he wouldn't be disturbed.

Lumis laid lifelessly on the ground while contemplating on what to do next. He felt the cool sensation of the water at his feet periodically engulfing them as if he were being sucked into quicksand. He looked up into the sky. What a glorious scenery he thought. He was bored and he needed something to do to pass the time. After several minutes of serenity, he sat up on the ground for a yawn and a sigh. He thought carefully as his natural red eyes wandered about. There were an abundance of trees around him, a good place to workout, he thought.

He gently pulled his feet out of the water, his legs a bit wet now. He walked over to where he had left his belongings. He quickly slipped on his shirt, pants and shoes. He looked around once more at the green in front of him. An idea had come on. A light bulb would flash above his head if it were humanly possible. He would indeed take this time for a workout. He approaced a nearby tree, then retreated a few steps back. His body had now begun to change. He had shifted into the form of an alley cat, the kind of cat you would normally see on the streets. Quickly he raced toward the tree then ascended up the trunk. He gracefully landed on the highest branch of the tree, then began to jump from tree to tree hoping to pass the time with a few laps around the area.

She had been exhausted and lazy as of late, but the need to walk and go outside had eventually caught up with her. Adelina had never been much of an indoors person, seeing as there was really nothing to do. It was nicer outside, anyway, with the sun shining down and the feel of the wind to just take one away from everything that troubled them... it was a nice feeling. Especially when ones life was like a soap opera...

A nice walk on the beach was just the thing she needed. She held her sneakers in hand, the very tips of her socks sticking out of them. The warm sand slipping between her toes felt nice and comforted her. Even if the unreasonably warm temperatures and the freezing, salty, polluted and in her opinion slimy water was all there really was, the smell of the air and the general atmosphere was enough for the ice elementalist.

Pulling a black hair tie out of the pocket of her rolled up jeans, she gripped her hair and pulled it into a knot before putting the tie in to keep it in place. She yawned and started running before noticing a cute little kitty about to jump into a tree.

If there was anything the mother had a soft spot for, it was cats.

Dropping her shoes, Adelina ran after the feline, deciding she could go back and get them afterwards. After all, what kind of a person would just steal a persons shoes and socks without anything else? It was truly something to ponder over.

As the cat started jumping, the woman stopped and stood there with her hands on her hips, pouting. "Hey, kitty! Come over here!" she called in a gentle yet firm and demanding voice. Hopefully it would be a good little kitty and listen to her. "I.... have a mouse!" Alright, so Adelina was lying now. But was that a crime?

Lumis seemed to be enjoying this little workout. He felt the wind pressing against his furry face with each jump and each step he took. He was fully unaware of what was below him. As he ran about he looked down to see a young woman coming into his line of sight. The woman was looking right at him. Has she been watching me, he thought, unable to anticipate what would happen next. She called out to Lumis. This had caused him to go off course. With his sharp claws he clung to the trunk of a tree to freeze his momentum. The next thing that came to his view was the ground. He carefully climbed down then began to walk in the direction of the voice nearby.

Why does this woman want from me, he thought. He looked around to see if other people were within the area. No one else is around. Good. He thought that there wasn't anyone else here at this time beside him. Well, it seemed that he thought wrong. Just my luck, he thought. He faced this woman with a distraught look on his face. She had mentioned something about...a mouse!? He 'meowed' in question as he began to roam about the area in search of the mouse. From the looks of it, she didn't have one in her possession. He pawed at some of the bushes nearby looking around, but found nothing of the sort. Could she have lied to Lumis just to get his attention? He meowed in defeat as he walked over to the woman, his tail swooning softly.

Adelina watched as the feline looked at her and finally clung to the branch. She hoped he would come down, otherwise she would be rather depressed for the rest of the day. She had been moody lately, too, but she would get over it. She fell into these stages at times.

To her wonderful surprise, he climbed down and looked at her. A wide smile came to her face and she leaned back, bending and slowly sitting down on the ground. She folded her hands beneath her chin with her elbows resting on her knees and watched Lumis, wondering if this was really wise. He looked like an alley cat, and he might be carrying some disease... the last thing she wanted to do was get scratched and get sick, or even worse, get Andrew, Alyeria, or October sick. It didn't seem aggressive, though... so she would just have to wait and see.

The cat meowed and started pawing the bushes, searching for the mouse. Adelina felt slightly bad for lying to it, but she had an idea on how to make up for it. She unfolded her hands and started shaping a ball of ice within her hands. She had never been much of an artist, but hopefully what she was planning would work out as she hoped.

Just as he began to walk toward her, Adelina smiled softly and set the ice figurine on the ground. "It may not be a real mouse, but I hope you like it!" she said, moving it a bit closer to Lumis. "It won't run away from you." She smiled and rested her face in her hands, hoping the feline would enjoy the little toy, even though it was cold and would eventually melt. Cats were picky, but if she was lucky he wouldn't pick out all of the mistakes she had made.

Lumis just stared at the young woman to see what she would do. If she really did have a mouse, then why wasn't she showing it. Was she hiding it? He meowed again, wondering if she would ever show him the mouse. He was bored and needed to kill some time. Okay, now he was getting the impression that she indeed lied. That was, until he saw her forming some kind of figure from ice. The figure had the look of a mouse. He meowed happily then walked over to it.

The ever-so-gullible Lumis approached the miniature object to examine it. It did look like a mouse. Was it even alive? Probably not, he thought. He began to sniff it. It had no specific aroma to it. He then tried to grab the mouse with it's teeth. That tunred out to be a dumb idea. The obviously cool temperature had caught Lumis by surprise. He spat out the mouse and shook it's head. He vigorously pawed at the mouse, then got into a position as if here going to pounce on it. She was right. It wasn't running, for the simple reason that it wasn't even alive!

Fooled again, he thought. However he seemed to have some sort of fun with that 'toy', so he opted to play along...for now. He meowed in satisfaction as he approached her again. He purred softly as he rubbed himself against her legs. That was his way of appreciation whenever he was in this state. He grabbed the mouse again then walked over to the side of her and sat there. He spat out the mouse again and began to paw at it again softly. That was sure to keep him busy, that is, until it would inevitably melt.

The meow of happiness caused the seventeen-year-old to smile. He seemed to like it, and for that, she was glad. She had lied at first, true, but at least he was happy now. Adelina didn't think he was aggressive at all, and thought he was just completely adorable. Lumis approached the little ice mouse and sniffed it and she smiled, giggling. She loved animals... she really, really did.

As he grabbed the mouse and soon dropped it, and laughed again. "Sorry it's so cold," she said, still laughing, a look of joy in her brown eyes. The cat began to paw at the mouse and got into a pouncing position. She was glad to see that he appeared to be having fun. Maybe once the mouse melted she could do something else to keep his time... from her experience, cats became bored easily. The last thing she wanted was for the precious thing to leave because it was bored.

Lumis rubbed his head on her leg and she smiled, offering him a hand to sniff. She didn't want to get bitten simply because she might have invaded his personal bubble without him knowing who she was. He sat next to her with the mouse and Adelina laughed once more, enjoying how occupied by it he seemed. "You like that little mousey, hm?" she questioned. "I can make more if you want, though I'm afraid they won't move. I'm Addie, by the way." So what if he couldn't respond? He deserved to know her name.

Lumis paused his actions and looked up at the young woman as she was now laughing for some reason. Does she find me humorous, he thought as he tilted his head to the side slightly. From that point on, he just continued to play with the icey inanimate object. He could feel the wetness as it was now starting to melt. When that happened, he just simply licked the mouse. It had no flavor, but the coolness alone was enough to satisfy him. When he was done with that he licked his paw, then wiped his face with his paw to clean himself up.

As he purred, he examined her hand. He felt that this young woman was being kind enough to him, so he refrained from being cruel. By cruel, in his altered state, that meant biting or scratching her. Instead, he showed his gratitude by sniffing her hand, then licking it a few times. When she asked if he liked the mouse, he simply meowed as an answer, with his tail swooning again. When she introduced herself as 'Addie' to him, he meowed again. He felt he should do the same. So, reverted to his human state right in front of her, and there he was, now sitting in a upright position, his long black with red streaks hiding most of his face. He pulled his hair back as he replied accordingly.

"Well, hellooo Addie! I'm Lumis. Charmed to meet you!"

A small frown came to Adelina's mouth when she noticed the mouse was melting. She felt slightly bad that it hadn't lasted longer. It was summer, though, and was to be expected. If it had winter, she thought this littler meeting would have been tons more fun. She would have felt bad for the poor cat, though, since he probably would have been cold. That was always sad to the young woman.

The feline sniffed her hand and licked it, which caused Adelina to giggle slightly. He was such a friendly kitty! She wondered if he had a home, or if he was like a typical alley cat. That would have been depressing. Then again, he seemed tame, since he wasn't attacking her and he had answered her before.

Brown eyes widened in complete shock when the cat turned into a human. Adelina stared at him, nothing but silence coming from her. Brows furrowed as she tried to figure out if he was a cat that could turn into a human, or human that could turn into a cat. It would be slightly embarrassing if it were the latter.

"Well, hellooo Addie! I'm Lumis. Charmed to meet you!"

She grinned. "It's nice to meet you, Lumis!" Adelina stated. "So... have you been a human all this time or are you a cat that can change its shape?" She figured it was an important question.

Lumis noted the slight change in the young woman's facial expression. At that point he wondered why she was frowning all of a sudden, then looked over at the frozen mouse that wasn't so frozen anymore. Indeed it had begun to melt. In the summer heat, indeed it was inevitable. If it was winter, the girl wouldn't have to worry about Lumis being cold. He could've just taken on the form of a dog with a lot of fur to stay warm. In essence, it wouldn't matter to him what condition it would be, weather-wise.

Sure he was a friendly kitty. In fact, he was friendly overall, whether he was in altered state or not. Of course he had a home, the Academy, for he was not just your typical alley cat. In fact, he was human all the same; a human with the ability to transform. He wasn't one to show a false sign of negativity towards others. That just wasn't like him. In fact, he disliked negativity. He had always maintained a positive attitude, even in the worst case scenarios.

He noted her staring at him when he had reverted to his human state. She asked if he was human who could turn into a cat or vice versa. He would have to clue her in, for it would rude not to answer. Again, he didn't like to show a negative attitude. He tilted his head to the side and smiled. Usually people would think it was the other way around. but that wasn't the case. "I'm just as human as you are. In fact, I've been human all my life. Well, I'm not exactly human, but ya know what I mean! It's one of my powers. I am shapeshifter. I can turn into many fascinating animals, but nothing too big though." he answered to Addie.
