Donny sat comfortably on the park bench at the meeting spot for the city's Secret Santa event. As far as he was concerned this was like any other delivery for a client. His recipient this year shared enough common interests with him that getting a gift was a relatively simple task. Gift suggestions being books and stuffed animals and interests being weapons, the arms dealing demon managed to whip up something within about a day.

He was dressed in his typical attire, multiple layers, his hood drawn, and his signature jacket over that. He wasn't worried about her having trouble spotting him. Donny even made a point to arrive fashionably early as a courtesy. He set the neatly wrapped box down next to him and took a swig of tequila. Now all he had to do was wait for the young lady to show up.

She arrived at the park around ten minutes before the exact time of the meeting. Adelene, having found out that the person she was paired up with had some similar interests as hers, didn't encounter too many problems deciding what to give. But the past few months have been rough, so he must forgive her if ever he'd end up not liking what she brought.

She wasted five minutes walking around the park because she wasn't sure where the exact location of the meeting was. It wasn't like there were many people around at night, so when she spotted a person, she quickly closed in to see if he was the person she was going to meet. He looked at felt rather suspicious to her, but honestly she wasn't fazed. The fact that she was here, alone, at night, showed that she wasn't bothered with such settings, and moreover, with such a person.

She moved her head a bit to loosen up the thick scarf around her neck and unbury her lower face from it. Her gift to him was inside the big box she was clutching against her body, crampling her black jacket with fur linings on the sleeves, the collar and the hoodie. As she went closer, the person would hear her footsteps against the cold ground, and once close enough, she spoke, "Um... Excuse me, but are you by any chance 'Donny'?"

"Why yes, Donny Damascus at your service. Seeing as how you know my name, that must make you one 'Adeline Cross'," he smiled and stood up holding his present. This would be his first time participating in this event, something he would have just ignored in previous years. This year however, he'd taken in a rather troubled child who was in desperate need of some normalcy, love, and affection. So here he was exchanging gifts with a total stranger.

The gift he had for Miss cross was an old and rather rare book on ancient super weapons and a stuffed bear. Though the bear had some rather dangerous functions that it housed beneath its adorable exterior. It was also a robot of sorts, he'd left very detailed instructions on how to activate and program it.

"I'm not quite sure about the protocol for these events. I guess we just swap gifts?" he shifted awkwardly, still kind of sizing the young woman up. As an arms dealer, he did have a responsibility to make sure clients were in fact able to handle the items he was selling. Liking weapons and being able to handle them were very different things. That said, residents on this island could be deceptively dangerous.

"Adelene Cross, mm," the girl nodded and smiled back faintly. There wasn't exactly that much life on her face, she still had huge dark circles under her eyes and she was much paler than how she had been months ago. She still looked tired. But at least she was trying to recover, and she was smiling.

"Not sure how this goes either since it's my first winter here in the island, but maybe we can also share some tales before heading home?" she asked, meekly, before holding out the black-and-red-wrapped box she carried.

"Here's for you," she proceeded. "There's a smaller box inside and... I made that one myself since... I didn't know what else to give. I'd say just have me as the gift if I didn't have a boyfriend but I do so..." She chuckled. The humor didn't reach her eyes though. "Of course I'm kidding. There's another item inside."

Inside was a huge bottle of whiskey and that smaller box Adelene had mentioned. The bottle was sealed with a cork and some other outer sealer by the mouth, and contained some clear liquid. It was a special kind of whiskey, a very old one, expensive too due to its silkiness against the tongue, it's smoothness against the throat, the perfect balance of sweet and bitter, and of course, the very strong kick of the alcohol.

The item inside the box was a whole different thing though. It was a set of key-like objects bound to a big ring. But they weren't keys. Their shapes varied, some looked like small rifles, some looked like daggers and blades, some looked more complicated than those. But one thing common in all of them was the small red button they all had. Push that, and the key chain becomes the real thing.

"I hope you like them."

"Stories huh? That sounds fun, I have plenty of those," he smiled as he took his gift and gave her, her own present. "I will say the bear has some unique features including a nasty set of claw blades and a taser. Show it pictures of your friends and it won't attack them. It does make for decent security against break ins. There's some detailed instructions but if it gives you trouble I left my number and shop address."

He couldn't help but smirk at her comment about having her as a present. Boyfriends never stopped the women before, still she was a bit too young for him. Legal, yes but she'd need a century on her before he even considered making a move. Then there was just this feeling that she was in the middle of pulling herself out of a rough patch. Mindless sex kinda makes those a bit awkward and weird if not worse.

"I don't think that would work out very well boyfriend or not," the demon replied. His alcohol senses were tingling as he opened the box to find some rather expensive whiskey, he could hear his cheap tequila screaming from its place on the bench. Yeah, this was the good stuff.

He turned his attention to the other box, opening it, and pulling out its contents. Key chains, but not ordinary key chains. He'd seen weapons like this. He selected the rifle, pushing its button so that it would become the real deal. "You said you made this? If you're ever looking for a weapon smith job well you have my info," he was, genuinely impressed. He took his tequila, tossed it into the air and shot it without really looking at it.

"Oh yeah, this isn't bad at all," he grinned as he returned the weapon to its keychain state and admired it.

Adelene's face lit up gently as they exchanged gifts. She was still a little anxious about the ones she gave, but more than that she was mesmerized by the ones she just received. She held the bear in her arms, staring at it as if to get both of them acquainted with one another. And then she briefly scanned the book and its pages. She smiled, turning to Damascus. "Thank you, these gifts are wonderful."

Crimson eyes steadied on Damascus as the man then examined his own received gifts. His words made Addy feel confident, though secretly embarrassed for being able to admit that to herself.

"I'm studying Gun Smithing in the Academy. And I get some information on magic as well, and I applied what I could for that item. I'm glad you like it. You'd have to supply the guns with your own bullets later on though." Her smile widened as he threw a bottle in the air and shot it, shattering it to pieces. "You're shooting's good," she remarked, hugging her bear closer. "Where did you learn all... all these skills?"

Donny couldn't help but smile, he was glad she was satisfied with her gifts. It would have been awkward if she didn't like them after he went through the trouble of making one and digging out the other. Anything to spread a little holiday cheer. He found himself taking a genuine interest in this student. Said she was studying gun smithing at the academy. He wasn't even aware they had that in their curriculum. Had he known that he might not be a shop owner, but a teacher instead. No, the shop was much more fun and profitable, maybe he could guest lecture sometime.

"A good salesman knows the products he sells like the back of his hand," he answered. He was a demon who had been in the business for almost six of his nine hundred years. There was no way he wouldn't be well versed in all manner of weapons. "I actually run a weapons shop, been in the business for a few centuries now. So really there isn't a weapon I can't use."

The demon fished out a business card from his pocket and handed it to the aspiring gun smith. "Try not to mind the neighborhood, it can be a little bit rough most people know better than to screw around on my block though. If you wanna learn some tricks some time don't hesitate to stop by. I suppose I can leave my door open any time for you."
