“I have homework, so alcohol’s probably a bad idea right now. Let’s just, uh…You know.â€
"I do drink other things besides alcohol," Lochlann said, giving a soft laugh. He still had a case of coke in the fridge, and there was a bottle of iced tea he hadn't opened yet. It was true though that he didn't drink non-alcoholic drinks very often anymore, but it's not like it was a problem or anything. He was doing fine.
It'd be about a half hour before the pain pills would kick in, but Loch was hoping the combination of the pills and the feeding would be enough to stop him from jumping out the window. He crossed the floor and tossed his crutches against the wall, sitting on the bed next to her and rubbing his aching leg.
“Right. Um… maybe we should see if we can skip breaking the law? I could take her for coffee or something and talk it over with her. So it would be public and she wouldn’t try anything. If she would want to try something. But hopefully I could get her to give it back.â€
"Public would be good," Lochlann murmured. If she went out with Guin, that would give him time to break into Guin's apartment regardless. "She has that image to maintain. The more people the better, and don't go alone with her, ever."
Still, the idea of them talking made him nervous. Who knew what Guin would tell her? He didn't like the idea of anything happening to Chloe. "If she does anything to you or threatens you...I'll...."
What? Kill her. He was a killer, but Lochlann didn't think of himself that way. He didn't want anyone to die.
"I'll make her regret it."
It was a promise.
