"Ha... yep! That it is! Its a great TV series. The early ones are a bit dated but they have their charm." remarked Nyota with a hint of smile creeping up on her face. She is big time Trekkie but she wonders if that is only because she grew up in household that watched the franchise with religious zeal. Still, it was a show that her she and her parents bonded over.

"Really? Like... never? I would have figured you to one of those popular girls that would be invited to all of the parties... huh... I guess I read you wrong. Well... if its any sympathy I was never really invited to parties either. Only the school hosted ball one time by myself... but nothing with friends." remarked Nyota as she chugged the little bit of soda that remained in the cup.

"Ahhh... sheehh... I dunno. Maybe get a movie started? What sort of movies do you have?" asked Nyota as she looked to TV. She didn't really have much in the way for suggestions so... maybe Thorn will pick out something interesting?

"Popular girl?" Thorn stifled a laugh. "Geez...I'm not even one bit popular. And where I'm from, party is a big no-no. I have never ever been in a party, let alone hosting one. And about friends...I have none." Thorn tried to keep the sadness out of her voice, but she doubted she succeeded.

She took another bite of her bagel, but it was much bigger one. With a full mouth, she said, "Yo' 'ike the fo'od?" Where's your etiquette now? Her brain hissed at her. Quickly, she swallowed the bagel and took a sip of delster, before repeating, "You like the food?"

"Well, I have a list of horror movies, but if you're uncomfortable with that, I totally understand." Thorn said. "And if there's any special movie you would like to watch - even if it isn't released yet - I'm here to show you my power." If Nyota said yes, it would be her first time summoning something in front of someone who's not her blood-relative.

"Your shitting me? And never had a friend either? Thats just... sad." It was all that she could think of to say. She completely misjudged this girl, basing her entire status and history on her pretty face. Turned out... the two of them might be more alike then she would care to admit.

Nyota quickly popped a nacho in her mouth, she was about to grab another when Thorn spoke to asked something about food. Whatever it was was lost to her, she nearly choked while she pulled back her hand to cover her mouth to keep herself from laughing out loud. Okey so the act of someone speaking with food in their mouth wasn't all that funny but to see a prim and proper girl as Thorn doing something so "barbarous" was unexpected and amusing to her.

"Heaack haak haa ha ha ha! Oh good lord... yes I like food! Who doesn't!" chuckled Nyota, patting her chest to clear her throat before resuming with her discourse "I honestly came here for the food but now I got to stay for the company. Anyway, you said you had horror movies? Hee, those dont scare me. If anything I find most of them hilarious. Though... what do you mean your special power? You make it sound as if you have some sort of fancy hotel exclusive deals watch movies not released in theaters or something. That in itself is a nifty enough power I guess though."

Nyota wasn't sure what "powers" Thorn might be insinuating. Somehow grab the movie from the future? Doupt it... maybe another timeline but certainly she cant alter this one... or at least that is what she thinks. No... maybe she ment that she was super rich had some special privilege to gain a copy of the movie before any of the common folk like herself can have access to it.

"Yeah, sad." Thorn said, almost spitting the last word. Sad. It reminded her of her previous life. Sad. It reminded her of the bruises she got. Sad. It reminded her of her abusive family. Sad. It reminded her of her grief-stricken old self. Lost in her thoughts, she shrugged visibly, wanting to put those things out of her head.

Thorn went on with her food, chewing and swallowing. When Nyota began laughing after Thorn asked her about food, she felt her cheeks reddened. Seriously? She thought. But her blush dissappeared as soon as it came.

"Fancy hotels exclusive deals?" Thorn said with a smirk. "Really. I was talking about the magical power I have. I thought it would be ordinary here with these things, you know, since most people I met here have a special power of their own. Anyway, my power is to summon anything from my future self. Like, if I'll own anything in future, I will summon it now. So I guess if I'm going to buy a DVD of a movie which will be released later, I can summon it now. Would drain a bit of energy, of course, but not much. What do you think?"

"Huh... no kidding. Superpowers are about... a dime a dozen around these parts?" commented Nyota, taking a bit a time to consider the implications that Thorn's powers seem to imply. Now she wasn't the philosophical sort of person but if Thorn was speaking the truth did that imply a sort of deterministic universe... or something? She felt like was something covered in Star Trek episode or something. "So... if I suggest we watch the the upcoming Avengers movie, Infinity War I believe it is... you can make that happen even though it wont come out next year? And it wont create like... some paradox or something?"

Nyota then stands there, watching Thorn as she would summon the upcoming Marvel movie from thin air as she claimed. It also made her wonder if her future self would have went out to buy DVD just because she suggested to watch said movie just now.

"Just watch," Thorn said, smiling a bit smugly. She closed her eyes, repeating 'Infinity War DVD' in her head continouesly, as several flashes of future - too fast for Thorn to catch - came and went.

Seconds passed, and she was still lost in her own mind, memories which are to come swirling around her - though Nyota couldn't see this, of course, since only Thorn was capable of seeing the memories make a tornado round her.

"It's a bit far..." Thorn whispered, eyes still closed. The memories around her told her that she has turned nineteen now, but still no sign of an Avengers DVD. Will she ever buy the DVD? "Come on..."

Just as she was going to stop trying, the memories stopped swirling around her. Thorn saw - even though her eyes were close - somewhat a hazy place, a living room in a modern house. In front of her was a LCD TV, beneath it a polished black case with DVDs of movies and music. The DVD she was looking for caught her eye. She stretched her hand mentally, taking the DVD in her hand, and the room began swirling again. Fast went the memories round her, now backwards and finally the dizziness stopped.

Thorn opened her eyes to find herself back in her dorm room, Nyota looking at her carefully. Thorn held up the DVD to show her, smiling in victory. "It turned out I did bought it in future!"

"No way..." spoke up Nyota, half doubting that what Thorn held in her hand was the real deal. The box art looked pretty convincing but there was only one real way to know for certain. "Okey well... pop it in and see for ourselves then. And lets hope the government barge in turn us in for... I dunno... video piracy? I'm not even sure what this would be considered but who cares lets watch already!"

Nyota can't help but feel excited, she didn't want to look like a complete dork but getting to watch a Marvel movie with another girl like herself wasn't something she had shared before. Of course, she has been liking the recent Marvel movies that have been coming out but being able to see a movie not yet in theaters made her feel somewhat privileged and exclusive.

While she lets Thorn get the movie set up, Nyota snags the bowl of popcorn and tucks it in her arm and walks over the bed. Before she decides to sit back down on the edge of the bed, she turned to Thorn and figured it was best to ask if food was allowed on the bed. Afterall, this was were she slept so it was understandable if she didnt want crumbs all over the sheets.

"So... Thorn. Are we allowed to eat on the bed? You know, while watching the movie together? Also, do you want me to get the lights or should we leave them on in case someone else barges in?"

If anything, Thorn was sure that she really liked Nyota. She was a sassy, sarcastic, punk-ish girl (that was what Thorn thought) who, it doesn't seem like, filter her words before saying them. It felt good to be with a girl like her.

Thorn went to set up the movie, plugging in the DVD player, switching her LCD off. A memory whizzed at her - when she had summoned this LCD. She had wanted to pass out - so she could spend time sleeping, not having to go to any classes or anything - and the only thing that made the dorm look like a dorm was the lack of TV. She smiled a little at the memory, opening up the cover and putting the disc in the DVD player. She caught the remote control, and was about to get some snacks to eat on bed when Nyota asked a question.

"Well, for the first thing, I wouldn't mind one bit if we eat on bed. It doesn't matter - I'll clean it up later. In fact, I was about to get some energy bars for myself, too - I guess going that far to fetch this movie was a bit tiring. And for the second one, I prefer closing the lights, because it's twenty minutes already and nobody's showed up yet. If any body will come, then I guess I'll welcome them and we'll resume our movie." Thorn gave her a big, beaming smile. And then came the word vomit - she just started speaking what was on her head, "I guess you're like Janis Ian a bit. You know, from the Mean Girls. That's my favorite character."

Only when she stopped speaking, she mentally slapped herself. You weren't supposed to say that!

"Ah, okey." Nyota nods, setting the bowl of popcorn onto the bed "I'll get the lights for us... looks like is just going to be the two of us anyway." stated Nyota as tries to find the light switch. Just as she was found the light switch, Thorn comment that made her head twirl. Something about being like Janis Ian from Mean Girls? Was that suppose to be good thing?

"Janis huh... never saw Mean Girls but she sounds like the sort of girl. I assume you meant that as compliment." shrugged Nyota, flashing a smile before flicking the lights off. As the room grows dark, she carefully makes her way to the bed and lays on her belly.

"Guess its time for movie night huh?" asked Nyota, grabbing a handful popcorn while looking to Thorn getting the movie set up.

((Well, since its movie in the near future we should be generic as possible when referencing the movie and should probably be kept to a minumin since we dont know OOCly the details of the movie.
