Yoka gave a wry laugh about affording to live somewhere off the island.

"I remember what that's like," she said.

And she did. Painfully. Yoka was wealthy now but she hadn't always been. Yoka sold more than her fair share of what she had to get what she needed, let alone what she wanted. "But you're a resourceful kid. If you did decide to leave, I'm sure you'd do okay."

Yoka drug her finger along the counter top and then back up the side of her glass. She drew constellations in the condensations.

"Can I give you some un-asked for advice?" Yoka said. "Fuck people's suspicions. Fuck caution. You can be daring and still have a plan."

She frowned.

She picked up her drink and said, "Steven, what I'm trying to tell you is this: don't forget that magic is real."

The wonder and the horror of that discovery.

Steven couldn't help but laugh loudly at the strange advice, even more so the part about forgetting about magic. "I don't think I ever could forget the strange and super. I have the scars to prove it." Steven answered, not really remembering if she had noticed or paid attention to his scars before. "Though I suppose, one day age might remove my choice in the matter." He said trying to lighten the mood with dark humour.

"But I don't see myself leaving anytime soon. Not when i have pleasant company." He said giving an over the top charming smile for fun at her. "and it isn't like I haven't gotten myself into enough shit from being daring anyway."
